Arc 37The Seven Treasures Kalpa

Suirenshi and Li Boyang debated the Outer Dao as the Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures drew the Three Realms into a battle over its fruits. The tree’s struggle against the assembled forces gave rise to the Great Kalpa Buddha, who became a demon and agreed to a bet with the Primordial Beginning Heavenly Demon.

  • Suirenshi explained to Li Boyang that the Outer Dao sought survival above wisdom or transcendence, and he wanted to help Great Xia’s descendants adapt without abandoning their path.
  • The Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures spread across the Three Realms, and its fruits drew competing forces into battle as Lu Ya, Ao Mo, Fu Kui, and Li Xi each claimed or answered different opportunities.
  • Li Xi claimed the World-Saving Azure Lotus and used its light to let unwilling combatants withdraw, but the tree seized the lotus and attacked the battlefield with wooden dragons.
  • Fu Kui formed the Divine Land Barrier while Li Xi bound the tree, but the Wondrous Tree created Wisdom Kings from its opponents and began absorbing their power.
  • Li Jingshu coordinated the Hundred Lands’ orbital cannons, which shattered the tree and its wooden figures, but the tree soon reconstituted itself as the Great Kalpa Buddha rose through the Sea of Alaya Consciousness.
  • The Primordial Beginning Heavenly Demon halted the Buddha’s rise, and Jiugui’s restored past-life wisdom weakened its consciousness as the Buddha fell into demonhood and became a towering Thousand-Handed Great Buddha.
  • The demonized Buddha unleashed a devastating sword strike, and the Primordial Beginning Heavenly Demon challenged its wisdom and offered to bet that the living beings of the Three Realms could stop its birth.

Arc 38The Road to Dao Merging

Li Xi defeated the Thousand-Handed Great Buddha and thwarted the Amala Consciousness, while Di Jun established the Numinous Firmament Treasure Hall and gave up his cultivation. Li Boyang began severing his ties to the Three Realms as Xiluo and others learned of his plan to unite with the Dao, leaving them struggling to preserve their bonds with him.

  • The Lord of Mount Tai turned the gray fruit into the Ten Halls of the Nether Capital, and Di Jun took the Seven Treasures Fruit from Minghe.
  • Di Jun raised the fruit of Joy of All Beings to create the Numinous Firmament Treasure Hall, then relinquished his cultivation and entered it as Supreme Lord Lao agreed to help establish the Heavenly Court.
  • Li Xi merged with the World-Saving Azure Lotus, gained the Precious Lotus Lantern, and rejected the Amala Consciousness incarnation’s attempt to descend through her.
  • Li Xi used the bronze Demon-Refining Pot to draw in and refine the fleeing fragments of the Thousand-Handed Great Buddha, while the Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures fell into the pot.
  • Xiluo realized Li Boyang planned to distribute his power and karma among his incarnations before erasing himself and uniting with the Dao, and she vowed to oppose him with the others.
  • Lü Yan confronted the Dao Ancestor about the influence he had exerted over the world, while Xihe and Great Unity concluded that the confrontation had become the Dao Ancestor’s final transmission of the Dao.
  • Li Boyang began severing his karma from those close to him and gave gifts and abilities to people including Li Jingshu, Lingguzi, Hanging Silk Lady, Nü E, and Panhu, as their memories of him began to fade.
  • Lord Yanyao drew Li Boyang’s scattered existence into the present and sought to preserve their connection, but Li Boyang refused, saying he needed to sever external ties and enter Fasting of the Mind and Sitting in Forgetfulness.

Li Boyang severed his karmic ties, entrusted his remains and powers to others, and began Dao Merging while shaping a primordial universe with the Heaven-Eroding Lord. As he rewrote histories to settle his debts, he reached the Netherworld Lord and offered his own death to repay their bond.

  • Lord Yanyao accepted Li Boyang as his teacher, received the Heaven and Earth Bow and Heaven-Shaking Arrow, and led the Xuanyuan Stars against the Purple Tenuity Emperor.

  • Li Boyang entered a state of void and severed his final connection to the present, while Wangshu preserved his image on the moons and Xiluo entered Purple Firmament Palace to watch his transcendence.

  • Li Boyang confronted Xihe and Great Unity to settle their karma, giving Great Unity the Heaven and Earth Black and Yellow Exquisite Pagoda, which became the Chaos Bell.
  • Li Boyang traveled to the primordial age and confronted the Netherworld Lord, explaining that their karma could obstruct his Dao Merging and asking whether his death could repay the debt.
