Fang Zelin crossed the Yongding River, learned martial arts and began cultivating after receiving a Qi refinement manual. He returned to Yingping Peak to grow spirit rice and build a home, while sharing martial arts guidance with other players and leaving Jiuchuan to train on his own.
Fang Zelin left Yingping Peak to seek cultivators and answers, encountering demons and dragons on his journey to Yueyang City. After climbing Ten Thousand Blades Peak, he found strange iron that absorbed lightning and Spiritual Qi, and began forging it.
Fang Zelin grew stronger in the Seeking the Dao World, regained the use of his legs, and learned to cultivate his sword and summon spirit rain. After tending his spirit rice at Yingping Peak, he prepared to leave in search of fellow cultivators.
Fang Zelin saved a ginseng spirit, gained thirty years of cultivation, and began traveling toward Jiangnan while tending his spirit rice and helping people along the way. As rumors of unrest and supernatural threats spread, he joined Song Zheli’s group to explore Falling Stream Mountain.
Fang Zelin continued his solitary cultivation, helping spirits and ordinary people while searching for a master and learning from Yang Xiang. The stretch ended with him reuniting with Jiuchuan in Yuanqing Prefecture, where Blazing Summer was preparing to build cities in Cloud-Linking Mountain.
Fang Zelin slew the tree demon on Cloud-Linking Mountain, then returned to Yingping Peak and guided Meng Yunqing through his tribulation to become a True Dragon. At the Dragon Palace banquet, Fang Zelin stopped Chen Shanyao from scheming to seize Great Jin’s fortune and helped Xiao Qin reveal her potential, while signs of unrest gathered over Great Jin.
Fang Zelin traveled through a troubled Great Jin, defeating demons and aiding the people he encountered. At Jade Void Mountain, he carved the Scripture of Salvation, helping its disciples enter Seeking Dao Mountain, then agreed to lead some of them on a demon-slaying campaign.
Fang Zelin hunted Leng Sizhao in Blazing Summer, then joined the cultivators in defeating Demon King Wu and settling Xue Yan’s fate. As the Daoists sought a wise ruler to bless, Zhenke identified someone north of Yingping Peak for Fang Zelin to meet.
Fang Zelin’s blessing helped Meng Jiuchuan establish Great Qian, while Fang Zelin continued cultivating and taught Ancient Cloud Temple’s disciples to ride spiritual swords. After learning of Northern Liang cultivators killed near Zhen’an Pass, Fang Zelin set out to investigate their deaths.
Fang Zelin and Zhenke investigated the deaths of two cultivators and uncovered signs of a yao plot against Northern Liang, while their travels brought them into contact with people and spirits in need. Zhenke returned to Dinggui Mountain to warn the cultivators, and Fang Zelin continued investigating, turning his attention to a devastating drought.
Fang Zelin rescued abducted children, captured demons targeting Northern Liang cultivators, and joined Yunzi’s search for the wider scheme. He guided Wu Ling to enlightenment in Seeking Dao Mountain, where the old Daoist warned that someone might be plotting against cultivators.
Fang Zelin and Yunzi investigated droughts and the overseas demons’ attempt to steal cultivators’ fortune, uncovering a suspected Devil Race connection. After the Underworld Bureau pointed them toward Bridge Township, they defeated most of the demons there and set out for Dinggui Mountain to discuss what came next.
Fang Zelin visited Dinggui Mountain, where a tea tree demon’s troubled cultivation came to light and the cultivators uncovered a threat to their Karmic Fortune. After Guangchengzi sacrificed his cultivation to locate Bai Anmin, Fang Zelin captured him, attended Guangchengzi’s burial, and returned to Yingping Peak to guide his disciples.
Fang Zelin refined lightning-sealed gourds for Jade Void Mountain’s disciples, then wandered toward Youjing City and encountered a female yao living in a village. After sharing his wine with her, he found her awake and waiting when he and the village elders came to speak with her.
Fang Zelin traveled with Tianxi through Great Qian, visited Jiuchuan’s grave, and sailed downriver before meditating at sea for more than six hundred years. He awoke with an Immaculate Body, returned to a much-changed Great Qian, and suspected its current emperor’s unpopularity had weakened its Human Race Karmic Fortune.
Fang Zelin witnessed Great Qian’s decline, mourned old friends, and renewed his ties with the immortal sects and Dragon Race. After saving Rising Tide Valley and freeing the stolen cultivation fortune at great personal cost, he refined Heaven-Mending Pills to treat Yunzi and began suppressing the corruption of his Dharma body.
Fang Zelin purified his Dharma Idol as demons and the Aquatic Race attacked Great Qian, but the dynasty fell despite the cultivators’ defense. He and Yunzi then began gathering the Daoist sects to forge treasures against the demons and Devil Race.
Fang Zelin united the immortal sects, refined Law Treasures that restored their Karmic Fortune, and led them in capturing Devil Race mighty figures. As the Devil Race launched an assault on the mortal dynasties, the story left the old Daoist and his young disciple facing the enemy at the city wall.
