Background / History
Tang Sect origins
Tang San originally belonged to the Tang Sect in another world. After secretly learning its secret arts and reaching a dead end, he reincarnated on the Douluo Continent with his memories intact. Those memories gave him cultivation methods, hidden-weapon techniques, and medicinal knowledge unavailable to ordinary children 6.
His father was Tang Hao, the Clear Sky Douluo, and his mother was Ah Yin, a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor who had taken human form. Ah Yin sacrificed herself during Spirit Hall’s pursuit, greatly increasing Tang Hao’s strength. Tang San inherited her Blue Silver Emperor bloodline 4 6.
Previous life on the Douluo Continent
Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village with Tang Hao, who lived as a drunken blacksmith. After awakening his martial soul, he entered Nuoding Academy, became Yu Xiaogang’s disciple, and met Xiao Wu. He initially recognized Xiao Wu as his younger sister; their relationship later became romantic 6 9 10.
After graduating, Tang San and Xiao Wu went to Shrek Academy under Yu Xiaogang’s guidance. Tang San’s later opportunities included the Eight Spider Lances and the immortal herbs of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. He ultimately attained the Sea God and Asura God godhoods 6 14 19.
Second rebirth
Immediately before ascending to the Divine Realm, Tang San’s vision went black. He awoke in his childhood body with none of his former strength. He retained both his Tang Sect knowledge and memories of the coming decades, which he regarded as the foundation for recovering dual godhood and correcting his regrets 7 12.
Personality
Tang San is calculating and protective of his secrets. At the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, he deliberately acts like an inexperienced child to conceal his rebirth. He recognizes that his hidden weapons give him bargaining power and refuses to surrender their blueprints while dependent on Ning Fengzhi’s protection 20 25 26.
He presents his choices to himself in terms of loyalty and righteousness. When considering whether to become Yu Xiaogang’s disciple again, he first weighs the practical advantages, then concludes that he must preserve their former teacher–student bond rather than betray his benefactor 12.
His restraint depends heavily on the situation. He hides rather than confront the overwhelming force arresting Tang Hao, but reacts violently when Old Jack questions his father’s conduct. He then attacks villagers who criticize him and leaves without helping those he injured 12 13 14.
Tang San’s attachment to Xiao Wu remains central to his plans. Despite gaining sanctuary and resources at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, he intends to leave after awakening so that he can reunite with her at Nuoding Academy 7 26.
Abilities & Skills
Mysterious Heaven Skill
A Tang Sect cultivation method that Tang San retains across his successive lives 6 12.
- Brought his innate soul power to rank ten in his previous life 9.
- Supplies internal power that he channels into his hands for attacks 13 14.
- Is currently stalled at the first-level peak until martial-soul awakening and first-ring acquisition 12.
- Cannot overcome the immense Soul Power advantage of the Soul Elder who restrains him in Nuoding City 20.
Purple Demon Eye
An eye technique cultivated by absorbing the faint Purple Qi appearing in the east at dawn 12.
- Produces a purple light in his eyes during cultivation.
- Helps him observe the disturbance in Holy Soul Village from the hillside 12.
Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track
A Tang Sect movement art that gives his footwork an elusive, rapidly shifting quality 14.
- Allows him to close on the villagers before they can follow his movement.
- Combines with internal-power-infused palm strikes to overwhelm ordinary adults despite his child’s body 14.
Hidden-Weapon Craftsmanship
Tang San retains the Hundred Solutions to Hidden Weapon and knowledge of numerous hand-thrown and mechanical weapons 6 12 21.
- Manufactures concealed weapons from ordinary iron while working in Nuoding City 20.
- Produces more advanced devices using the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s workshop and refined materials 25.
- Keeps crucial component manufacture private, excluding other craftsmen from the workshop 25.
- Demonstrates that a mechanical weapon can kill a Soul Elder even before its user awakens a martial soul 20.
- Claims his devices can give support-type Soul Masters lethal offensive options without relying on their Soul Power or physical strength 21.
Medicine and Poison Knowledge
His inherited Tang Sect learning includes the Poison Scripture and medicinal knowledge 6 19.
- Saves Yu Xiaogang after the Mandala Snake poisons him in the previous timeline 9.
- Identifies and gathers the immortal herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well in Xu Fan’s account 19.
- Incorporates refined steel poison needles into Hidden Sand Shooting Shadow 26.
Martial Souls and Bloodline
Tang San knows that he possesses twin martial souls: Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer. His current body has not yet undergone awakening 26.
- His Blue Silver Grass appeared ordinary before the awakening of his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline in the previous timeline 9.
- Plans to reveal only Blue Silver Grass at his coming awakening, concealing the Clear Sky Hammer to discourage Ning Fengzhi from retaining him 26.
Rebirth Memories
Tang San remembers both his original Tang Sect life and his completed path through the Douluo Continent 6 7 12.
- Uses future knowledge to plan his cultivation, opportunities, and reunion with Xiao Wu 12.
- Conceals his familiarity with Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong when first brought before them 20.
- Cannot rely on events repeating exactly: Tang Hao’s early capture never occurred in his previous life 13.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Discovery and Tang Hao’s Capture
Xu Fan identifies Tang San as the protagonist of the novel he remembers. His disclosures reveal Tang San’s origins, family, future godhood, and role in defeating Qian Renxue’s plans, prompting her guards to consider eliminating him before he grows strong 2 6.
Qian Renxue permits reconnaissance only. Porcupinefish Douluo locates the family in Holy Soul Village and identifies Tang Hao’s concealed strength. Later, Yue Guan and Gui Mei arrive with an elite Spirit Hall force and capture Tang Hao while Tang San watches from hiding 7 9 12 13.
Unable to intervene, Tang San vows vengeance. He attacks Old Jack and several protesting villagers before abandoning Holy Soul Village 13 14.
Flight to Nuoding City
Tang San spends half a month as a blacksmith’s apprentice, seeking both concealment and iron for defensive weapons. Fear of Spirit Hall leaves him unable to sleep peacefully. When two Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect scouts find him, he mistakes them for pursuers and kills one before the other subdues him 20.
Sanctuary and Hidden-Weapon Negotiations
At the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Ning Rongrong defends Tang San’s actions, while Ning Fengzhi treats the killing as a misunderstanding and compensates the dead scout’s family. Tang San then presents hidden weapons as his own inventions to establish his value 20 21.
His successful demonstrations earn him a private courtyard and workshop. However, his refusal to share key manufacturing methods leads Chen Xin and Ning Fengzhi to consider tying him to the sect through Ning Rongrong 25.
When Ning Fengzhi presses him to become a disciple, Tang San postpones a decision until his awakening. He promises to join if his martial soul is useful to the sect, privately intending to conceal the Clear Sky Hammer and display only Blue Silver Grass. Ning Fengzhi accepts, convinced that Tang Hao’s son will awaken the hammer 26.
