Background / History

According to Xu Fan’s account of the novel he read, Bibi Dong possessed twin Martial Souls and innate full Soul Power. The previous Pope, Qian Xunji, personally trained her. She later fell in love with Yu Xiaogang and intended to elope with him 3.

Qian Xunji sexually assaulted her to prevent their relationship, resulting in her pregnancy with Qian Renxue. Xu Fan explains that Bibi Dong’s unresolved pain complicated her feelings toward her daughter, who bore the consequences despite having no responsibility for her birth 3.

Xu Fan also identifies Bibi Dong as Qian Xunji’s actual killer: after Tang Hao severely wounded him, she seized the opportunity to kill him herself. His suggestion that Qian Daoliu sent Qian Renxue undercover partly to protect her from Bibi Dong is explicitly presented as reader speculation, not confirmed history 4.

Bibi Dong subsequently became Pope. She also hunted and killed Xiao Wu’s hundred-thousand-year Soft Bone Rabbit mother, obtaining her Soul Ring and becoming the target of Xiao Wu’s revenge 3 10.

In an audience, she openly ridicules Tang Xiao’s bargaining position and refuses to be intimidated by his sect’s reputation 16 18 22 23.

Her treatment of Hu Liena contrasts sharply with her treatment of Qian Renxue. She notices her disciple’s injuries immediately and insists on learning who caused them, but greets her returning daughter with estrangement and loathing. She interprets the attack on Hu Liena as a challenge to her own authority 23 27.

Her composure is vulnerable to both traumatic memories and the Rakshasa evil thoughts she has not fully mastered. Qian Renxue’s angelic wings evoke Qian Xunji and the assault, triggering an uncontrolled lethal attack. After Golden Crocodile Douluo intervenes, Bibi Dong briefly shows bewilderment and regret before restoring her cold expression and leaving without explanation 28.

Capturing Tang Hao

After receiving an undercover report identifying Holy Soul Village’s blacksmith as the suspected Tang Hao, Bibi Dong mocks Qian Renxue’s apparent desire to avenge her father. She orders Yue Guan and Gui Mei to capture him alive “at any cost.” They exploit his impaired condition, seal his Soul Power, and bring him into Spirit Hall custody 11 13.

Rejecting Tang Xiao’s Bargain

Tang Xiao comes alone to Spirit City after failing to secure support from the other Upper Three Sects. He offers himself in exchange for Tang Hao, emphasizing his greater cultivation and political importance. Bibi Dong rejects the premise, pointing out that she could keep both brothers if she wished 22 23.

When Tang Xiao attacks with soul pressure, she incapacitates him with Rakshasa-tainted spiritual power and orders him removed. Shortly afterward, she passes Qian Renxue in a corridor and is bewildered when her normally resentful daughter unexpectedly laughs 23.

The Conflict over Hu Liena

After learning that Qian Renxue kicked Hu Liena from the library’s top floor, Bibi Dong intercepts her daughter as she leaves the mountain and demands an apology. When Qian Renxue attempts to walk past, Bibi Dong restrains her with Titled Douluo pressure 27 28.

Qian Renxue reflexively manifests her Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul. Its sacred light triggers Bibi Dong’s traumatic memories and uncontrolled Rakshasa thoughts, turning the confrontation into a lethal attack. Golden Crocodile Douluo blocks the blow and escorts Qian Renxue away; Bibi Dong departs with Hu Liena without explaining herself 28.
