Background / History
Silver Dragon King and the Agreement with Na'er
Gu Yue is the Silver Dragon King's main body, while Na'er is a separately existing fragment carrying 30% of its origin. Gu Yue initially seeks to restore the complete origin as part of her responsibility to revive the Soul Beast Clan 112 248 260.
Their agreement requires Gu Yue to approach Bai Yushan over five years and assess his worth. If he demonstrates value sufficient to surpass that of the Golden Dragon King's bloodline, Gu Yue must allow Na'er to remain independent permanently and must not harm him 87.
Disguised as an ordinary student, Gu Yue suppresses her origin and conceals her connections. She also considers infiltrating the Spirit Pagoda because its reconstruction of Soul Beasts from genetic samples interests her 87 107 113.
Eastsea Academy and the Spirit Ascension Platform
At Eastsea Academy, Gu Yue trains under Wu Changkong alongside the other Class Zero students. Bai Yushan defeats her, Tang Wulin, and Xie Xie during an early training-room encounter; even her full-strength Elemental Tide cannot prevent him from knocking her unconscious. Later, the five-member Class Zero group coordinates well enough to occupy him inside a sparring circle for half a minute 57 80.
Gu Yue accompanies Bai Yushan into the Primary Spirit Ascension Platform, ostensibly to cultivate her elemental control. Her deeper interest is his electrical power: it appears separate from Soul Power and allows him to fight far beyond his cultivation rank. The Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear's disruption of the hunting grounds eventually forces her to abandon her own hunt 85 87 92 94.
Rescue and Alliance with Bai Yushan
When Bai Yushan disappears overnight, Gu Yue releases a fraction of her origin to search Eastsea City through its elements. After locating his electrical presence outside the city, she forces open a spatial passage, enduring substantial strain despite protection from her Dragon God Pendant 104.
She finds him grievously wounded and mentally overwhelmed by battle. He initially attacks her as a possible pursuer before collapsing into her arms. Unable to carry his unusually heavy body more than a short distance, she summons Zi Ji and arranges for him to recover at her faction's secret residence 105.
Bai Yushan subsequently exposes much of her concealed purpose and offers future assistance with her cultivation and the revival of the Soul Beast Clan. In return, he wants her help finding Na'er and Bi Ji. Recognizing his unconventional power as a possible way out of her race's predicament, Gu Yue openly accepts an alliance 109 110.
Training and an Independent Path
Gu Yue receives electrical body tempering from Bai Yushan, at times securing his cooperation by threatening to send Na'er a misleading photograph. Repeated sessions eventually yield negligible improvement, forcing her to return her attention to cultivating her own elemental authority and origin 112 124 126.
Leng Yaozhu identifies a different weakness: Gu Yue relies heavily on instinct and inherited memories, leaving her techniques predictable and insufficiently varied. She assigns Gu Yue recordings of elemental Soul Elders and Soul Ancestors to study 148.
Provoked by Bai Yushan's criticism that she is wasting her talent by hiding it, Gu Yue fully integrates her remaining origin into her human body. Although this makes reabsorbing Na'er more difficult, she accepts the cost. She later rejects reliance on Tang Wulin's bloodline or a Martial Soul Fusion Skill, declaring her intention to surpass the Dragon God rather than repeat his path 152 159.
Her understanding of combat also changes. After Bai Yushan explains how Hu Yuxiu has forged his own path, she begins treating Soul Skills as adaptable tools rather than fixed sequences, recognizing the possibilities of freely reshaping her six elements 196 197.
Skysea Alliance Grand Competition
Gu Yue and Bai Yushan form the core of Eastsea Academy's seven-person team. Both also reach the junior individual final, guaranteeing their academy the competition's top two individual places 182 214.
Outside the tournament, she accompanies him to Skysea City's underground arena and places his three-million-Federation-Coin stake on his victory as Sea Tiger. Watching him fight strengthens both her admiration for his power and her resolve to catch up 185 187 214.
In their individual final, Gu Yue combines elemental reinforcement, close combat, deception, and ranged attacks. Her precision strike beneath his ribs would seriously injure an ordinary Three-Ring Soul Elder, but barely wounds him. Increasingly angered by his resilience and teasing, she unleashes Elemental Storm with the power of a Four-Ring Soul Ancestor's all-out attack; the supplied account does not establish the final result 227 228 229.
Renewed Resolve and Reunion with Na'er
Gu Yue later struggles with how much strength is needed to overcome the constraints facing her people. Bai Yushan subjects her to his overwhelming will and visions of battles from other worlds. She emerges determined to stop dwelling on helplessness and continue growing stronger, causing her cultivation bottleneck to loosen 240 241.
At Shrek Academy, she no longer considers absorbing Na'er necessary. Instead, she teases and provokes her into a battle across Sea God Lake, where elemental techniques clash with Na'er's spear attacks. Na'er later recognizes that Gu Yue repeatedly held back and bore her no genuine ill will, reducing their hostility 248 249 250 251 260.
After Cai Yue'er attacks Bai Yushan, Gu Yue asks him to remain at Leng Yaozhu's estate rather than expose himself to further danger. He refuses, insisting on pursuing his own growth. Gu Yue remains worried as Leng Yaozhu explains why he must face those risks himself 264 272.
Appearance
Gu Yue's appearance changes markedly after she integrates her Silver Dragon King origin into her human body 103 152.
- Before integration: Long black hair, clear black eyes, delicate features, and a slender, well-proportioned figure 103.
- After integration: Long silver-white hair and purple or silver-purple eyes; she sometimes ties her hair with a plain ribbon or wears it in a high ponytail 152 153 193.
- Clothing: Frequently wears a white shirt or top with white trousers 103 108 159.
- Draconic manifestation: Fine silver scales spread across her neck, jaw, and part of her left cheek; golden vertical pupils appear when she releases her origin power 249 250.
Personality
Gu Yue initially presents herself as cool, restrained, and detached. Beneath that composure, she is calculating: her early approach to Bai Yushan serves both her agreement with Na'er and her desire to acquire power capable of changing her people's fate. Even her rescue of him includes the intention to forge an irreplaceable debt, though her concern develops into genuine emotional attachment 104 105 107.
Her pride becomes more overt as she trains. She refuses to slow her progress for weaker partners, dismisses dependence on inherited solutions, and claims that no peer other than Bai Yushan can match her. His influence also makes her more combative; she increasingly seeks difficult opponents rather than easy tactical victories 156 159 193 214.
Gu Yue's sharp tongue often conceals affection or vulnerability. She resents Bai Yushan's gentleness toward Na'er, questions how important Na'er is to him, and denies her own jealousy. With Leng Yaozhu, however, she openly shows dependence and affection 183 191 221.
Her concern for Soul Beasts is not an objection to every act of predation or killing. She accepts that slaughter exists among Soul Beasts themselves; what she opposes is unchecked killing that threatens the clan with extinction 235.
Abilities & Skills
Elemental Authority
Gu Yue commands six elements through the Silver Dragon King's origin. The text lists wind, fire, water, earth, light, and space; she frequently employs water as ice 104 113 152.
- Elemental perception: Releasing a fraction of her origin lets her perceive elemental flows across Eastsea City and search its outskirts for Bai Yushan's distinctive electrical presence 104 113.
- Fine control: Switches elements seamlessly and reshapes them into barriers, blades, needles, projectiles, and reinforced strikes 55 154 197.
- Inherited foundation: Initially relies on Silver Dragon King bloodline memories and instinct rather than studied human combat methods 148.
- Spiritual Power: Possesses reserves far beyond those of ordinary Soul Masters 112.
Elemental Tide
Her first Soul Skill mobilizes elemental power for both defense and more demanding applications 57 104.
- Creates overlapping wind walls surrounded by rotating wind blades 57.
- Supports the convergence of six elements when opening a spatial rift 104.
- Cannot, at her outward rank-19 cultivation, support extreme teleportation by itself; that feat requires her concealed origin power 104.
Elemental Combat and Fusion
Gu Yue develops from a primarily control-type fighter into an opponent capable at both close and long range 92 154 157.
- Body reinforcement: Wind enhances speed, earth strengthens defense, fire increases attack power, ice sharpens attacks, light disrupts vision, and space adjusts movement 228.
- Close combat: Combines Thick Earth Armor and Wind Blade Enhancement with punches; also adds fire, wind, and spatial attacks to hand-to-hand exchanges 153 154.
- Fusion attacks: Uses Three-Element Layered Blade and the six-element Elemental Storm. The latter reaches the force of a Four-Ring Soul Ancestor's all-out strike 229.
- Limitations: Her early moves lack variation, and Bai Yushan repeatedly exploits openings in their execution 148 157.
Ice and Earth Techniques
Her defensive techniques can also restrict movement or create openings for counterattacks 153 154.
- Ice: Frost Spike, Ice Wall, Falling Ice Spike Rain, and Frost-Cold Thousand-Layer Mirror 153 154 249 251.
- Earth: Thick Earth Armor, Amber Rock Wall Rampart, Vajra Rock Shield, and Rock Armor 153 154 156 228.
- Terrain control: Freezes the ground for sliding movement and forms ice beneath her feet to cross a lake 153 249.
- Layered defense: Regenerating ice mirrors progressively dissipate incoming high-voltage waves 154.
Fire and Wind Techniques
Fire supplies destructive force, while wind provides mobility, cutting attacks, and control of the battlefield 154 156 229.
- Fire attacks: Flame Fist, Purple Flame Spiral Blast, and Golden Crow Heaven-Burning Break 154 156 229.
- Golden Crow Heaven-Burning Break: Forms a crimson-gold fireball with a two-meter radius 156.
- Wind movement: Uses Goshawk Swift Feather Flash for rapid repositioning and wind currents to hover 154 156 213.
- Area control: Generates storms to scatter opponents and wind blades to attack from range 80 156 229.
Spatial Techniques
Spatial power supplements Gu Yue's movement and offense 104 153 154.
- Rift Slash / Spatial Slash: Produces narrow spatial cuts, including attacks aimed at disrupting an opponent's footwork 153 154.
- Rift Leap: Attempts short-range evasive displacement 153.
- Long-distance displacement: Uses her origin to force open a passage beyond the normal capabilities of a One-Ring Soul Master 104.
- Limits: Spatial turbulence severely strains her human body, and rapid opponents can catch her before an evasive jump completes 104 153 162.
Draconic Origin and Physical Conditioning
Integrating 70% of the Silver Dragon King's origin strengthens her human body and elemental capabilities without requiring Na'er's reabsorption 152 248.
- Origin pressure: Exerts draconic suppression purer and heavier than Na'er's, although purity alone cannot erase their cultivation gap 249 250.
- Improved physique: After awakening and body tempering, can withstand direct exchanges that would previously have overwhelmed her immediately 152 153 154.
- Gravity training: Becomes accustomed to training under three times normal gravity, with occasional increases to five times 152.
- Electrical conditioning: Benefits from Bai Yushan's externally supplied current, but repeated sessions eventually provide negligible gains 112 126.
- Bloodline resonance: Her released origin stimulates Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon King bloodline and accelerates his Soul Power circulation 158 159.
