Yu Xiaogang Stirred Up Trouble
Yu Xiaogang was stirring up trouble, and it could even affect Shrek Academy?
The guy was only a rank-29 soul master. What major trouble could he possibly cause?
"He's been bad-mouthing our academy over in Suotuo City, calling it a shady establishment."
"He's also saying the teachers there teach nonsense."
Flender cared deeply about Shrek Academy's reputation.
Only with a good reputation would recruiting students be easier in the future.
Now Yu Xiaogang kept smearing Shrek Academy in Suotuo City. If they did nothing, who would come to the academy in the future?
Even the academy's students would be looked down on when they went out.
Chu Feng looked taken aback.
Has Yu Xiaogang lost his mind? Smearing Shrek Academy in Suotuo City-isn't he afraid we'll come knocking and pound him?
Over all these years, Shrek Academy had actually remained little known.
Those aristocratic academies certainly did not want Shrek Academy to become famous.
Ordinary soul masters also had no idea what sort of academy Shrek Academy was.
With Yu Xiaogang belittling it like this now, outsiders really would think Shrek Academy was some trash academy.
"He's gone too far." Tang San clenched his fists, every trace of goodwill toward Yu Xiaogang gone from his heart.
He was now a student of the academy.
The academy's reputation was his reputation.
He now took pride in being a student of Shrek Academy, too, and could not tolerate others belittling or even smearing it.
"Let's go to Suotuo City and beat him up!" Ma Hongjun said, cupping his fist.
Dai Mubai also clenched his fists beside him. They had long since found Yu Xiaogang an eyesore.
If they had not been worried that fighting would break the academy's rules, they would have taught Yu Xiaogang long ago that geniuses were not to be insulted.
He actually dared to ruin the academy's reputation. He already had a path to his own death.
"Going to beat him up would be falling right into his trap," Flender said gravely, pushing up his glasses. "He's been telling people in Suotuo City that everyone at our academy is a brute."
"A bunch of battle-crazed maniacs and warmongers who know nothing but fighting."
"Criminals who understand nothing of benevolence, righteousness, or morality."
The "Grandmaster" Yu Xiaogang in Flender's heart was already dead.
He had never imagined that Yu Xiaogang, who had once lived resolutely despite possessing a trash martial soul, would become like this.
That he would smear his academy and his students like this.
Did Yu Xiaogang not know how important reputation was to students who had yet to graduate?
"We're going to Suotuo City!" Chu Feng decided outright.
Yu Xiaogang had truly gone too far.
He had thought the last warning would teach the guy to behave, but he had never expected him to pull something like this.
He really was treating Chu Feng like a soft persimmon.
Everyone set off at once, riding in a carriage enhanced with soul guidance technology, and soon arrived in Suotuo City.
"Where is that guy?" Chu Feng asked Flender beside him.
If Yu Xiaogang wanted to quickly drag the academy's reputation down, he would have to go somewhere crowded.
"Suotuo Central Square," Flender said through gritted teeth.
Suotuo Central Square was in the heart of Suotuo City, the place with the heaviest foot traffic.
A platform had been set up in the square.
Above the platform hung a banner with black lettering on a white background.
The continent's foremost grandmaster of soul master theory, Yu Xiaogang, explains soul master theory.
Beneath the banner, Yu Xiaogang sat upright at a table draped in red cloth, answering questions for the soul master sitting opposite him.
Shrek Academy's carriage stopped some distance away.
As everyone got out of the carriage, they saw a long line in the square, waiting to speak with Yu Xiaogang.
"What's going on here?" Oscar asked in confusion.
The others looked puzzled.
Flender pushed up his glasses and pointed at Yu Xiaogang, who was putting on a respectable front in the middle of the square.
"He's giving the people of Suotuo City free guidance on martial soul theory."
"Telling them about martial souls, which soul rings to pair with certain martial souls, and how to train."
Before going to find Chu Feng, he had already investigated everything.
Yu Xiaogang had been here giving free guidance on martial soul theory for days.
To be fair, Yu Xiaogang had spent all these years studying soul master theory and did have some ability.
He really had the soul masters and ordinary people of Suotuo City hanging on his every word, helped along by his impressive manner.
These people still genuinely regarded Yu Xiaogang as a grandmaster of soul master theory on the continent.
As a result, more and more people came here, lining up to consult Yu Xiaogang about soul master theory.
"There's nothing wrong with doing that," Ma Hongjun said.
Their academy also often gave nearby soul masters free instruction in martial soul knowledge.
They would even provide financial aid to some of the poorer ordinary people and soul masters.
There did not seem to be anything wrong with what Yu Xiaogang was doing.
"There's nothing wrong with that, but every time this guy gives someone a consultation, he says something bad about Shrek Academy."
As he spoke, Flender took out a small loudspeaker.
This was a soul tool developed by the organization, used to amplify the voices of people far away.
Yu Xiaogang's voice came through the loudspeaker.
"Yes, I was talking about that Shrek Academy out in the suburbs."
There was unmistakable contempt in Yu Xiaogang's voice.
"Really? I passed by their academy before, and the grounds looked quite nice. The soul masters guarding the gate even smiled at me."
The middle-aged woman replied with some disbelief.
"They were deceiving you. Gold and jade on the outside, rotten cotton within."
"That academy never studies soul master theory. All they know is fighting."
"They even let a twelve-year-old child teach their students."
"Tell me, what ability could a twelve-year-old student possibly have?"
Chu Feng narrowed his eyes slightly. This was clearly about him.
Could a genius be the same as everyone else?
But the woman clearly still leaned toward agreeing with Yu Xiaogang. After all, no one would believe that a twelve-year-old child was proficient in soul master theory.
"They're doing that? Is this academy so lousy that it doesn't even have proper teachers?"
If they had proper teachers, would they let a child teach?
"Exactly. A few days ago, I simply couldn't bear to see those students ruined like that, so I lowered myself and went there hoping to teach."
"But they beat me and drove me out."
As he spoke, Yu Xiaogang rolled up his sleeve.
Even from a distance, Chu Feng could see the bruises on Yu Xiaogang's arm.
"He's lying! We never laid a hand on him!" Ning Rongrong said angrily, her hands on her hips.
She had never seen anyone so shameless.
He had clearly been the one to come looking for trouble, yet he made it sound as though the academy had started it.
He had even faked the appearance of having been beaten by the academy.
Such behavior was utterly vile and beneath contempt to her.
Ning Rongrong stepped forward, about to rush over and argue with Yu Xiaogang.
"Don't rush. Let him keep talking."
Chu Feng held Ning Rongrong back. He wanted to see what else Yu Xiaogang would say.
In the distance, the woman stood up in fright after hearing Yu Xiaogang's words.
"They wouldn't let you in, and they even beat you? How frightening."
"Yes. They were jealous of my abilities and afraid I would steal their students, so they beat me up and even called me trash."
As Yu Xiaogang said this, his eyes bulged, and even his stiff face scrunched up.
Although the beating was fabricated, his anger was real.
Whenever he thought of being belittled by Chu Feng twice, he felt humiliated.
