Ning Rongrong grew up as the treasured daughter of Ning Fengzhi and the future leader of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Sword Douluo Chen Xin and Bone Douluo Gu Rong taught and indulged her, treating her like their own granddaughter. Bored with her familiar surroundings, she eventually left for Shrek Academy 4 8 30 31 73.

During Shrek’s entrance assessment, she supported Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing against Chu Feng. His age, level-thirty-nine Soul Power, and transparent Soul Rings overturned her expectations of what a young genius could achieve 1.

Martial Dao training

Although Martial Dao appealed to her as a way for support Soul Masters to fight directly, its demands quickly exhausted her. When she asked to rest, Chu Feng refused and told her she could leave the academy rather than receive special treatment 4 5.

He later connected her training to her responsibilities toward her father and sect. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda’s users could never surpass Soul Saint, and its support specialists depended on others for protection. After being reminded that her elders could not shelter her forever, Rongrong began taking training more seriously 7 8.

Her later lessons combined Eight Trigrams Steps, divided attention, and uninterrupted support casting. She initially lost control of her Soul Power while moving, but persevered through simulated enemy interference. She became the first student to finish the initial training in her manual, though the others’ plans were more difficult 30 37.

Forest expedition and team battles

After the Titan Giant Ape carried Xiao Wu away, Rongrong sought help from her sect and sent an urgent letter to her father. Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong subsequently visited Shrek, originally intending to help rescue the missing students 13 21 30.

During the expedition, she hesitated to kill the Starlight Spirit Deer because of its beauty. Chu Feng’s Contract Soul Ring method offered another solution: she could gain a Soul Ring while making the deer her companion. After succeeding, she promised to keep the method secret—even from her father 22 23 24.

Rongrong later partnered with Zhu Zhuqing against Dai Mubai and Oscar in an academy match. Their performance earned them priority for Number Zero Battle Armor. She continued pairing with Zhu Zhuqing in the Great Soul Arena, where their team swiftly defeated its opponents 37 38 39 40 49 50.

Protecting the sect’s future

Having inferred the direction of Chu Feng’s organization, Rongrong proposed cooperation to ensure her sect’s survival. Chu Feng explained that Ning Fengzhi would have to negotiate personally and promised not to harm the sect if it did not obstruct the organization 50.

She later suggested marriage to Chu Feng as a way to connect both sides. He rejected marriage as a political shortcut and postponed accepting her feelings until he could be certain the sect would not oppose the organization. Any immediate cooperation would instead involve Shrek Academy or Chu Feng personally 72 73.

In Heaven Dou City, she used her sect token and her father’s name to confront a noble who had harassed her. She demanded compensation for a fruit seller’s damaged goods and assured her friends that anyone seeking trouble would have to answer to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 74 75.

Rongrong initially carries the pride and entitlement of a thoroughly sheltered sect heiress. She invokes her father and the two Douluos when protesting Chu Feng’s treatment, boasts about her sect’s wealth and strength, and dislikes being denied special consideration 5 7 22.

Her mischievousness remains even as she becomes more disciplined. After finishing her training, she mocks the boys’ martial arts, then takes refuge with Zhu Zhuqing when Dai Mubai approaches her. She also enjoys gossip and deliberately goads Ma Hongjun into testing her new defensive skill 37 42 88.

Her loyalty extends beyond playful affection. She seeks powerful help for Xiao Wu, worries about Chu Feng’s unexplained absence, and recognizes the danger of a future conflict between her sect and the organization. Her proposal for cooperation is explicitly motivated by the sect’s survival 21 50 58 73.
