Shui Family and First Meeting

Shui Yue'er grew up indulged by her family, but its influence made other children her age reluctant to befriend her sincerely. According to Shui Bing'er, Yue'er was lonely despite her cheerful manner. Yu Tianshuang, whom she met when they were six, became her first genuine friend of the same age and the first person she liked 12 49.

After witnessing Tianshuang’s Martial Soul awakening, Yue'er suggested recruiting him into Skywater Academy. She playfully imagined his dragon and her sister’s phoenix protecting her together, but Shui Xinrou initially reminded her that the academy did not admit boys 3.

Frozen Forest

While seeking Yue'er’s first Soul Ring, she and Shui Xinrou encountered Tianshuang fighting an Ice Jade Scorpion. They subsequently guarded him while he absorbed its 1,500-year ring. Yue'er laughed at his mistaken absorption method and demanded thanks when he initially acknowledged only her aunt 6 7.

Shui Xinrou originally intended to find Yue'er a 400-year-old beast, explaining that her Jade Dolphin did not strengthen her body as much as Bing’er’s Ice Phoenix. They instead encountered a rare, roughly 500-year-old Wind-Stepping Snow Shadow Leopard. Xinrou immobilized it, allowing Yue'er to kill it and absorb the ring, reaching level 12 6 9.

Academy Training

When Tianshuang enrolled at Skywater Academy, Yue'er became his classmate and invited him to sit beside her. The two joined the academy’s reserve combat team and were paired against Shui Bing'er. Their coordination overcame Bing’er’s initial Ice Seal, but Yue'er was frozen after failing to break through Ice Ring Armor. Tianshuang freed her, and Shui Xinrou declared the pair the winners 11 14 15.

Over the following two years, Yue'er and Tianshuang continued training together. Bing’er and Xue Wu began consistently defeating them after reaching Soul Elder. Yue'er later took part in larger team exercises and Great Soul Arena matches, often attempting to disrupt enemy preparations or attack from the flank 16 19 27 30.

Immortal Herbs and Arena Battles

After the academy team’s lineup was completed, Shui Xinrou required Yue'er and most of her teammates to reach Soul Ancestor before the Elite Tournament and earn individual Gold Soul Fighting Badges. Yue'er initially protested the cultivation target, but later began training harder. Tianshuang also gave her Heavenly Mountain Snow Douluo Red and Narcissus Jade Muscle Bone, which she took aside to absorb 36 38 42.

Against Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Yue'er used her Fourth Soul Skill to reach Dugu Yan and kick her off the stage before she could release another poison attack. She then pressured the opposing healer. Shui Bing'er praised the intervention but reprimanded her for acting without orders 48 49.

In a subsequent individual match, Yue'er refused to give up against a level 49 Defense System Soul Ancestor despite accumulating injuries. Bing'er explained to Tianshuang that Yue'er feared becoming too weak to remain beside him. He finally recognized her feelings and encouraged her from the stands. After her defeat, he promised to keep progressing alongside her, and she vowed to continue pursuing him 49 50.

Personality

Yue'er is lively, teasing, and outspoken. She habitually calls Tianshuang “dummy” or “blockhead,” boasts about surpassing him, and openly complains about demanding training. Her enthusiasm can also make her impulsive: she eagerly grabs his arm after seeing his Soul Skill variation and later breaks formation to attack Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s rear line 9 13 30 49.

Her cheerfulness conceals insecurity about being left behind. Although she initially dislikes cultivating, Tianshuang’s growing strength motivates her to work harder and persist through a badly mismatched arena fight. She also shows consideration for him, offering reassurance before his private conversation with Yu Tianheng because she knows his clan background may trouble him 38 49 50.

Summons a phantom Jade Dolphin to lock onto a chosen target, enabling Yue'er to teleport toward that target three times, regardless of distance 46.
