Background / History

Arrival at Shrek Academy

Zhu Zhuqing came from the Star Luo Empire and joined Shrek Academy because of Dai Mubai, whom she initially viewed with romantic expectations. Dai Mubai identifies her as his fiancée. Although she retained some affection for him, his visits to brothels became a major source of disgust and disappointment 16 18 23.

After Li Zhiyan’s expulsion, Zhu Zhuqing repeatedly defended him against Tang San’s accusations. She rejected claims that he had stolen Tang San’s belt or attacked classmates with Dragon Whisker Needles, regarding him as honest and good-hearted. Her confidence was misplaced in these incidents: Li Zhiyan had stolen the belt and used Tang San’s weapons to sow discord within Shrek Academy 7 10 11.

The Suotuo City Confrontation

Xiao Wu told Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong that Tang San, Dai Mubai, and Oscar supposedly intended to hire Bu Le, Tianya, and E Kao to harass them, then stage a rescue. Zhu Zhuqing initially doubted Dai Mubai would do something so underhanded and agreed to watch for evidence 16 18.

When the three attackers appeared during a city outing, Zhu Zhuqing accepted their arrival as confirmation. She and the other girls refused to assist the boys, who were overwhelmed. As the attackers turned toward the girls, she recognized that the danger was real and became frightened 18 19.

Zhu Zhuqing prepared to fight alongside Li Zhiyan when he intervened, but he told the girls not to help. His Two Extremes Stillness Domain immobilized everyone nearby, including her, before he detonated three Soul Rings and killed the attackers. His strength and Twin Martial Souls convinced her that he was more dependable than Dai Mubai 20.

Afterward, she asked Li Zhiyan to take her away from Shrek Academy. She feared that her existing path would eventually lead to her death and hoped he could protect her from that fate. He promised to take the girls with him when his remaining business was finished 21.

Dai Mubai’s Assault and Its Aftermath

Dai Mubai persuaded Zhu Zhuqing to accompany him by claiming he needed to discuss a secret concerning their lives and deaths. His apologies and their shared homeland softened her attitude, but he led her into a dead-end alley, blocked her escape, and threatened to sexually assault her 23 24.

Zhu Zhuqing summoned her Soul Rings and prepared to resist. Before Dai Mubai could carry out his threat, Li Zhiyan arrived and immobilized him. Feeling safe in Li Zhiyan’s presence, she embraced him and asked to kiss him. She then proposed castrating Dai Mubai and carried out the punishment with a dagger supplied by Li Zhiyan 24 25.

Back at the hotel, Zhu Zhuqing feared retaliation. Li Zhiyan reassured her that Dai Mubai’s injuries had left him too weak to threaten her immediately. She subsequently agreed to become Li Zhiyan’s girlfriend, knowing that Xiao Wu was already his girlfriend and that he intended to have other partners 25.

The following day, Zhu Zhuqing confronted Dai Mubai alongside Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong. She admitted castrating him because he had cornered and threatened her, but denied Li Zhiyan’s involvement. Her friends supported this account and claimed to have witnessed the assault, although the alley incident had involved Zhu Zhuqing, Dai Mubai, and Li Zhiyan 24 26.

Zhu Zhuqing is described as a beautiful young woman with a cool, aloof expression and a notably curvaceous figure 16 25 26.

Zhu Zhuqing usually maintains a cold, restrained manner and says that she does not normally criticize others. Nevertheless, she speaks sharply when defending Li Zhiyan or condemning conduct she considers dishonest 11 22.

Her initial response to Xiao Wu’s warning shows that she is not immediately willing to believe the worst of Dai Mubai. She wants confirmation before judging him, and later responds to his apparent sincerity and their shared origins 16 18 23 24.

When cornered, she is willing to fight despite her fear. Her retaliation against Dai Mubai is decisive, but afterward she becomes frightened by the consequences. With Li Zhiyan, her usual reserve gives way to affection, concern for his health, and a strong desire for protection 24 25 26.
