Clear Sky Sect and Life in Lingdou

Tang Wutong grows up sheltered by the Clear Sky Sect and its powerful elders. She addresses Niu Tian as “Big Dad” or “Eldest Father” and Tai Tan as “Second Father.” When Niu Tian takes Chu Qing as his disciple, she eagerly assumes the position of senior sister 23 24 26 29.

During the dispute over Chu Qing’s apprenticeship, she suggests settling a wager through a fight between Du Busi and Xuan Zi. She subsequently accompanies Niu Tian and Chu Qing to Lingdou City, where Princess Xue Li shows her around. After Niu Tian leaves with Long Xiaoyao, Tang Wutong remains with Chu Qing 22 23 26.

Her stay includes shopping, accumulating debts in Chu Qing’s name, and asking him to retaliate against academy students who mocked her low cultivation. Tai Tan eventually arrives with news that Niu Tian has been killed by Evil Soul Masters. Tang Wutong bursts into tears and returns to the sect with him 26 27 29.

Return and Soul Master Tournament

Tang Wutong later returns to the Soul Fighting Society and challenges Chu Qing, only to lose to his decoy and counterattack. A failed nighttime ambush ends with her angrily tearing a treasure map in half and giving him the portion marking the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 40 41.

On a journey to the Far North, her Soul Power begins merging with Chu Qing’s, revealing their potential for a highly compatible Martial Soul Fusion Skill. Both initially refuse Xu Jiujiu’s suggestion that they test it 44 45.

She joins Qianling Academy’s tournament team and repeatedly provokes Shrek Academy. Against the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, she defeats five opponents before exhausting her Soul Power. Her confrontations with Jin Suqiu escalate from a private duel into arena battles, including a fusion battle alongside Chu Qing and a final two-on-two match in which Jin Suqiu knocks her unconscious 58 59 60 64 71 72 74 86.

Divine Trials

After the tournament, Tang Wutong accompanies Chu Qing and Chen Hanyu to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. The Aromatic Silk Beauty oversees their God of the Sky trials: the First Trial rewards an apology, while Tang Wutong’s Second Trial requires her to consume an Immortal Herb despite a stated fifty-percent chance of death. Chu Qing merges Soul Power with her to suppress the herb’s violent effects 88 89.

Their Third Trial requires the destruction of the Holy Spirit Cult, with Soul Ring age awarded for killing Evil Soul Masters. This objective also aligns with their vows to avenge Niu Tian 92.

Pursuit of the Evil Soul Masters

After reaching seven rings, Tang Wutong uses her leg-bone speed to carry Chu Qing back to rescue the injured Jin Suqiu. Although angry that the rescue is for her rival, she accepts his offer to repay her by helping raise the first five rings of her Light Goddess Butterfly to the hundred-thousand-year level 102 109.

Their pursuit exposes hidden Sun Moon Empire Soul Engineers and leads to their imprisonment inside Black Moon’s stone sphere. After escaping, they catch seventeen Evil Soul Masters, whom Tang Wutong kills for trial rewards. She later returns alone to the Clear Sky Sect in tears; Tang San observes her distress and recognizes that she has fallen in love 109 110 111 112 114.

Personality

Tang Wutong is mischievous, proud, and accustomed to indulgence. She repeatedly invokes her senior-sister status to order Chu Qing around, spends freely on his credit, and initially prefers shopping and entertainment to cultivation. Her sheltered upbringing also leaves her unconcerned with the etiquette others expect when confronting Shrek Academy 23 26 27 42 58.

She is highly competitive but quick-tempered. Defeat often prompts immediate demands for revenge, and her hostility toward Jin Suqiu can override tactical judgment. During their fusion battle, she eventually admits her limitations by surrendering control to Chu Qing, though she insists that he beat Jin Suqiu for her 40 60 71 74.

Her attachment to her family and Chu Qing is emotionally intense. Niu Tian’s reported death devastates her, while Chu Qing’s attention to Jin Suqiu provokes jealousy and a sense that something important has been taken from her. Despite their constant arguments, she helps him in emergencies, including entering Black Moon’s trap in an attempt to free him 29 77 109 110 114.

Light Goddess Butterfly

Her first Martial Soul provides flight and light-based attacks. Its light power becomes substantially purer after she survives the Immortal Herb trial 40 89.

• Flank Guillotine: Her First Soul Skill forms sharp golden edges along her wings, allowing them to slash forward like blades 40.
• Light Butterfly God Slash: Combines the power of her three rings into an enormous golden crescent blade. At the Soul Elder stage, it nearly exhausts her Soul Power and requires preparation; Chu Qing defeats it with a decoy 40.

Her second Martial Soul is a heavy weapon supported by unusually high-age Soul Rings 41 60.

• First Soul Skill: Enlarges the hammer into a long-handled war hammer with a massive cylindrical head 60.
• Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer: Uses rotational movement and an opponent’s force to build increasingly powerful consecutive blows 60.
• Limitation shown: Jin Suqiu overpowers the technique and launches her far from the battlefield during their first duel 60.

Sea God Trident and Indefinite Storm

Tang Wutong wields a blue-and-gold Sea God Trident and invokes its restraining divine skill, Indefinite Storm 60 71.

• Immobilizes Jin Suqiu during their first duel, allowing Tang Wutong to strike her while she cannot move 60.
• Can be applied repeatedly, as shown when she restrains Jin Suqiu again before kicking her away 60.
• Is not unavoidable: Jin Suqiu later evades it with perception and movement techniques, and in the tournament final attacks before Tang Wutong can activate it 71 86.

Martial Soul Fusion Skills

Tang Wutong and Chu Qing possess exceptionally high fusion compatibility. Their Soul Power can mingle during cultivation, while physical contact allows them to merge it quickly in combat 44 45 58.

• Sea and Sky as One Double Fusion Slash: Executed by Chu Qing while fully controlling their angel form. It uses golden and blue sword domains and breaks through the Evil Eye Holy King’s defenses 74.

Linked Wings Flying Together

Her paired Linked-Wing Bird leg bones provide exceptional aerial mobility 89.

• Each bone manifests additional wings around her legs 89 109.
• Activating both skills together produces Linked Wings Flying Together, which reaches Ultimate Speed 89.
• Can carry Chu Qing at high speed, making the ability useful for rescue and pursuit 109.
