Ch. 1Awakening Martial Souls

Hu Jiu awakened a carrot martial soul with Innate Soul Power Level Two, while Tang San revealed Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. Old Jack gave Hu Jiu his ancestor’s cultivation manuals and promised him the village’s Work-Study Student spot at the academy in Nuoding City.

  • Su Yuntao awakened Hu Jiu’s carrot martial soul and measured his Innate Soul Power at Level Two.
  • Tang San awakened Blue Silver Grass, insisted on a Soul Power test, and was revealed to have Innate Full Soul Power.
  • Old Jack learned of Tang San’s talent but decided to give the village’s Work-Study Student spot to Hu Jiu.
  • Old Jack argued with Tang Hao at the blacksmith shop, then took Hu Jiu home and showed him two cultivation manuals left by their Spirit Sage ancestor.
  • Old Jack promised to teach Hu Jiu from the manuals and take him to the junior Spirit Hall Academy in Nuoding City.

Ch. 2AFK Panel

Hu Jiu learned about Old Jack’s family cultivation manuals and planned to use his AFK panel to improve them after he learned them. He told his parents that his carrot spirit had Innate Soul Power Level 2, then considered how to compensate for his weak cultivation aptitude and his spirit’s lack of combat ability.

  • Old Jack showed Hu Jiu the Soul Power Meditation Method and the Five Senses Strengthening Technique, explaining their origins and effects, and invited him to learn them the next morning.
  • Hu Jiu examined his AFK panel and realized he could place either manual in its slots to cultivate and improve it automatically.
  • Hu Jiu returned home and told Hu Rui and Emma that his carrot spirit had Innate Soul Power Level 2, exciting both of them.
  • Hu Jiu summoned his carrot spirit in bed and considered how to develop it, concluding that he would need other means to gain combat ability and improve his cultivation speed.

Ch. 3Skills Mastered

Hu Jiu mastered the Soul Power Meditation Method and the Five Senses Strengthening Technique with help from Old Jack and the AFK Panel, reaching Soul Power Level 3. He asked Old Jack to help him train with Tang Hao so he could build his strength before school began.

  • Hu Jiu learned the Soul Power Meditation Method from Old Jack and placed it in an Idle Slot, where the AFK Panel began improving his understanding.
  • Hu Jiu secretly learned the Five Senses Strengthening Technique and, after three days, the Meditation Method reached Level 1 and began steadily increasing his soul power.
  • Hu Jiu continued studying with Old Jack for a week, completed both manuals, and reached Soul Power Level 3.
  • Hu Jiu impressed Old Jack by demonstrating meditation, then asked him to arrange training with Tang Hao so he could improve his physical strength.

Ch. 4Planning the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer

Hu Jiu persuaded Tang Hao to let him train at the blacksmith shop, hoping to learn the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer by observing Tang San. He began training alongside Tang San and used food and wine to build their friendship.

  • Hu Jiu convinced Old Jack to ask Tang Hao for permission to train at his home.
  • Tang Hao accepted Hu Jiu after he brought him two jars of wine, but said he would not teach him.
  • Hu Jiu brought Tang San two meat pies the next morning, and Tang San welcomed him into the house.
  • Tang Hao told Tang San to teach Hu Jiu blacksmithing, and Tang San showed him how to operate the bellows.

Ch. 5Learning the Hammer

Hu Jiu worked at Tang San’s forge while studying the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, hoping to improve his combat ability and use the AFK Panel to master the technique. After Hu Jiu won Tang San’s friendship and brought Tang Hao wine, Tang Hao allowed Tang San to teach him the hammer technique.

  • Hu Jiu helped work the bellows and watched Tang San forge, quickly learning the task with his enhanced senses.
  • Hu Jiu returned after lunch and continued observing Tang San, while Tang San adjusted his forging so Hu Jiu could see more clearly and Tang Hao pretended not to notice.
  • Over the next few days, Hu Jiu’s Soul Power Meditation Method and Five Senses Strengthening Technique advanced, and a fourth AFK Panel slot unlocked.
  • Hu Jiu brought Tang Hao wine to encourage him to share more pointers, and Tang Hao eventually noticed Hu Jiu’s interest in learning the forging technique.
  • Tang Hao gave Tang San permission to teach Hu Jiu, and Tang San taught him the core method of the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer.

Ch. 6Leaving

Hu Jiu trained in Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer and strengthened his cultivation before leaving with Old Jack for Nuoding City. He learned that Tang San would attend the academy too, having paid his own enrollment fee, and worried that Tang San might take Xiao Wu from him.

  • Hu Jiu used the AFK Panel to train Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer while learning directly from Tang San, and mastered nine consecutive strikes in two days.
  • Hu Jiu stayed at Tang Hao's blacksmith shop, practicing with a small hammer and a piece of Mundane Iron as Tang San helped him.
  • Over half a month, Hu Jiu raised his Soul Power Meditation Method and Five Senses Strengthening Technique to Level 3, reached an estimated Soul Power Level 5, and advanced Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer to Level 4.
  • Hu Jiu learned that Tang San planned to attend Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy and worried Old Jack might give him the village's Work-Study Student spot.
  • Two months later, Old Jack took Hu Jiu to Nuoding City with the Work-Study Student spot, then explained that Tang San would join them after Tang Hao paid his enrollment fee.
  • Hu Jiu set off with Old Jack carrying his belongings and a small hammer, relieved that Tang San would not live in the Work-Study Student Dormitory and could not take Xiao Wu from him.

Ch. 7Entering the Academy

Hu Jiu and Tang San traveled with Old Jack to Nuoding Academy, where Grandmaster noticed Tang San’s unusual Spirit and accepted him as a disciple. After registering, Hu Jiu became a work-study student and looked forward to meeting Xiao Wu on his own.

  • Hu Jiu and Tang San left Holy Soul Village with Old Jack and reached Nuoding Academy.
  • Hu Jiu threatened the gatekeeper after he insulted their village, and Grandmaster arrived to hear their account.
  • Grandmaster examined their Spirit Hall certificates, noticed Tang San had Innate Full Soul Power and Blue Silver Grass, and took the boys inside.
  • Grandmaster accepted Tang San as his disciple, while Hu Jiu felt ignored and secretly vowed to make Grandmaster regret overlooking him.
  • Hu Jiu and Tang San registered as students, with Hu Jiu as a work-study student and Tang San as a self-funded student.
  • Hu Jiu told Tang San they would meet after settling in because he wanted to meet Xiao Wu without him.

Ch. 8Xiao Wu

Hu Jiu arrived at Seventh Dormitory, defeated Wang Sheng with his hammer, and became the dormitory’s temporary boss. When Xiao Wu arrived, she challenged Hu Jiu to a fight, and he raised his hammer to meet her attack.

  • Hu Jiu introduced himself at Seventh Dormitory, then challenged Wang Sheng when Wang Sheng demanded that he obey him.
  • Hu Jiu used his Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer technique to send Wang Sheng flying and was named the dormitory’s boss.
  • Xiao Wu arrived, introduced herself to Hu Jiu, and accepted his invitation to spar.
  • Xiao Wu leaped toward Hu Jiu with a kick, and Hu Jiu swept his hammer sideways to counter her.

Ch. 9A Wife Won with a Quilt

Hu Jiu sparred with Xiao Wu, then won her favor with his Spirit Avatar carrots and a new quilt. After Xiao Wu became the dormitory leader, she pushed her bed together with Hu Jiu’s and proposed they share his bedding, just as Tang San arrived.

  • Xiao Wu transformed and attacked Hu Jiu, but he stopped the duel by offering her a carrot from his Spirit Avatar.
  • Hu Jiu conceded the match, and Xiao Wu became the dormitory leader while the boys eagerly accepted her authority.
  • Xiao Wu rejected the other students’ dirty quilts and asked Hu Jiu to share his new bedding.
  • Hu Jiu and Xiao Wu pushed their beds together and placed his bundle between them as a boundary.
  • Tang San called to Hu Jiu from outside the dormitory.

Ch. 10Tang San's Loss

Hu Jiu took Xiao Wu and the Seventh Dormitory students to lunch, drawing Tang San away from Xiao Wu while trying to strengthen his own bond with her. After Tang San left with Grandmaster, Hu Jiu defended Grandmaster’s value and warned Wang Sheng not to insult him in front of Tang San.

  • Tang San found Hu Jiu and Xiao Wu tidying beds together, then Hu Jiu offered to treat him to lunch when he realized Tang San had no money.
  • Hu Jiu, Xiao Wu, Tang San, and the Seventh Dormitory students went to the cafeteria, where an older student provoked them and Xiao Wu challenged him.
  • Tang San stopped Hu Jiu and Xiao Wu from starting a fight, and Hu Jiu agreed to let the provocation go for now.
  • Grandmaster arrived and invited Tang San to eat upstairs; Hu Jiu persuaded Tang San to go with him, leaving Hu Jiu with Xiao Wu.
  • Wang Sheng questioned Tang San’s choice of master, and Hu Jiu warned him not to speak badly of Grandmaster in front of Tang San.

Ch. 11About the Theory of Ten Core Competencies

Hu Jiu learned that the academy’s annual Soul Ring expedition had already passed, leaving him worried about getting a ring when he reached level 10. He and Xiao Wu received their work-study duties and class schedule, and Xiao Wu revealed she was an eleven-level Agility Attack Battle Soul Master.

  • At lunch, Xiao Wu repeatedly asked Hu Jiu for carrots because she disliked the cafeteria food, and Hu Jiu said his Soul Power was probably level 9.
  • Hu Jiu asked Wang Sheng how students obtained Soul Rings, and Wang Sheng explained that the academy’s yearly expedition had already ended.
  • Hu Jiu worried that he might have to wait over half a year for a Soul Ring after reaching level 10, then considered asking Tang San for help.
  • Teacher Mo assigned Hu Jiu and Xiao Wu to clean the garden south of the Training Ground and told them when classes would begin.
  • Wang Sheng explained the school’s classes and work-study routines to Hu Jiu and Xiao Wu.
  • Xiao Wu told Hu Jiu that her Martial Soul was a Soft Bone Rabbit and that she was an eleven-level Agility Attack Battle Soul Master.

Ch. 12A Brother's Wife Is Not to Be Coveted

Hu Jiu grew closer to Xiao Wu while making Tang San promise not to pursue her, then spent the afternoon exploring Nuoding City with her. After quickly spending most of his allowance on Xiao Wu, Hu Jiu decided he needed to find a way to earn money himself.

  • Tang San told Hu Jiu that he and Grandmaster would leave the next day to obtain a Soul Ring, and Hu Jiu asked him to help when Hu Jiu needed one.
  • Hu Jiu made Tang San promise not to pursue Xiao Wu, and Tang San agreed that Xiao Wu was not his type.
  • Xiao Wu asked Hu Jiu for a Carrot, then invited him to spend the free afternoon in Nuoding City, where they watched performers, shopped, and bought snacks.
  • Hu Jiu realized his allowance was nearly gone after three days of treating Xiao Wu and rejected registering with Spirit Hall for money, deciding to earn it himself.

Ch. 13Tang San's Return

Hu Jiu and Xiao Wu confronted Xiao Chenyu’s group after they cornered Wang Sheng, and Hu Jiu defeated their first fighter with his hammer technique. As Ling Feng charged at him, Hu Jiu called out to Tang San, who revealed himself from behind a tree.

  • Xiao Wu rejected Hu Jiu’s plan to sell carrots, and a dormitory boy rushed over to report that Xiao Chenyu’s group had stopped Wang Sheng.
  • Xiao Wu and Hu Jiu joined Wang Sheng’s group, and Xiao Chenyu proposed a fight in which each side sent fighters one after another.
  • Hu Jiu stepped in for Wang Sheng and defeated Liu Long with a powerful strike from his Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer.
  • Ling Feng charged at Hu Jiu, but Hu Jiu called to Tang San, who emerged from behind a tree.

Ch. 14Self-Created Soul Skill

Tang San defeated Ling Feng, and Xiao Wu revealed her hundred-year soul ring before Xiao Chenyu conceded and accepted her as the academy’s big sister. With their opponents now handling their chores, Hu Jiu began planning a self-created soul skill to fill the empty slots on his AFK Panel.

  • Xiao Chenyu sent Ling Feng to fight Tang San, but Tang San quickly defeated him.
  • Hu Jiu asked Tang San to let Xiao Wu take the final match, and Xiao Wu challenged Xiao Chenyu.
  • Xiao Wu revealed her level twelve cultivation and hundred-year soul ring, shocking Xiao Chenyu into surrendering.
  • Xiao Wu accepted Xiao Chenyu and his group as her little brothers, while Hu Jiu and Xiao Wu left the academy’s work to them.
  • Hu Jiu decided to create a soul-power-control skill so he could fill his AFK Panel’s empty slots and pursue Pellet Spinning.

Ch. 15Soul Power Control

Hu Jiu developed Soul Power Control by adapting Tree Climbing and Water Walking into a training method, with Tang San helping him master the technique. As the skill improved, Hu Jiu and Tang San climbed trees while Xiao Wu lagged behind and began suspecting Hu Jiu was hiding a secret.

  • Hu Jiu experimented with using soul power to stick a sheet of paper to his palm, and Tang San demonstrated how rotating soul power could create adhesive force.
  • Hu Jiu learned Tang San's method, unlocked Soul Power Control in the fourth Idle Slot, and gained the ability to hold paper beneath his palm.
  • After three days, Hu Jiu's Soul Power Control reached level one, letting him stick small stones to his hand and control soul power more smoothly.
  • Ten days later, Hu Jiu reached level two and climbed a tree, while Tang San ran to its top and Xiao Wu could only stick pebbles to her hand.
  • Xiao Wu accused Hu Jiu of hiding a secret, and Hu Jiu panicked that he might have revealed it in his sleep.

Ch. 16Breakthrough

After reaching Soul Master level, Hu Jiu planned to hunt for his first Soul Ring and asked Grandmaster for advice on developing his carrot martial soul. Grandmaster confirmed that its adaptability could let Hu Jiu pursue both Support and Food System abilities, leaving Hu Jiu with a clearer direction for his cultivation.

  • Hu Jiu realized he had broken through to Soul Master level and told Xiao Wu and Tang San that he planned to hunt for his first Soul Ring.
  • Xiao Wu and Tang San agreed to accompany Hu Jiu to the Soul Hunting Forest, and Tang San offered to ask Grandmaster for guidance.
  • Hu Jiu visited Grandmaster with Tang San and explained that he hoped to cultivate his carrot martial soul as both a Support and Food System martial soul.
  • Grandmaster said Hu Jiu’s low-level martial soul was highly adaptable and could absorb almost any type of Soul Ring.

Ch. 17Choice

Hu Jiu chose a Sky Swallowing Toad for his First Soul Ring because he hoped the AFK Panel could improve its weak cultivation-speed effect. He then proposed to Tang San that Spirit Rings might grow stronger through training, leaving Tang San intrigued by the possibility.

  • Grandmaster explained three Soul Beasts whose Spirit Rings could improve cultivation speed, including the rare Moonlight Beast, the unreliable Sun Flower, and the weak Sky Swallowing Toad.
  • Hu Jiu decided to seek a Sky Swallowing Toad Spirit Ring and received Grandmaster's Spirit Hall identification badge.
  • Tang San urged Hu Jiu to reconsider and choose a Hundred Year Soul Beast, but Hu Jiu stood by his decision.
  • Hu Jiu argued that Spirit Rings might improve through cultivation because they were part of a Soul Master's power.
  • Hu Jiu suggested people neglected Spirit Ring training because raising Soul Power and their level seemed more worthwhile, leaving Tang San without an answer.

Ch. 18Departure

Hu Jiu prepared to hunt for his first Spirit Ring while Tang San tested Hu Jiu’s method for improving Spirit Rings and confirmed that it worked very slowly. After securing leave from Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy, Hu Jiu, Xiao Wu, and Tang San set out for the Soul Hunting Forest.

  • Tang San objected to Hu Jiu choosing the Sky Swallowing Toad, but Xiao Wu suggested testing Hu Jiu’s method for cultivating Spirit Rings first.
  • Hu Jiu waited five days for his AFK skills to improve, strengthening his senses, soul power cultivation, and Soul Power Control.
  • Tang San confirmed that Spirit Rings could be improved through cultivation, though raising a Spirit Ring’s age was extremely slow and required strong Soul Power Control.
  • Hu Jiu decided to hunt for a Spirit Ring the next day, and Tang San agreed to accompany him.
  • Hu Jiu, Xiao Wu, and Tang San obtained leave, prepared supplies, and departed by carriage for the Soul Hunting Forest.

Ch. 19Soul Hunting

Hu Jiu, Tang San, and Xiao Wu entered Soul Hunting Forest to find a Soul Beast for Hu Jiu’s Spirit Ring, relying on Hu Jiu’s enhanced senses to avoid danger. When eight pack-dwelling Soul Beasts charged them, Tang San prepared to bind them while Hu Jiu readied a powerful hammer attack.

  • Hu Jiu, Tang San, and Xiao Wu entered Soul Hunting Forest using Grandmaster’s Spirit Hall token.
  • Hu Jiu sensed a hundred-year Soul Beast nearby and guided the group away from it, explaining that his Perception Ability detected auras and smells.
  • Hu Jiu led the group toward the southwestern pools where Sky Swallowing Toads lived, avoiding Soul Beasts along the way.
  • Hu Jiu sensed eight approaching Soul Beasts and warned Tang San and Xiao Wu to prepare for battle.
  • Tang San released Blue Silver Grass to bind the pack as Hu Jiu built up more than seventy strikes with Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer.

Ch. 20Sky Swallowing Toad

Hu Jiu, Tang San, and Xiao Wu hunted for a suitable Sky Swallowing Toad in the Soul Hunting Forest. They found one with more than ninety years of cultivation and prepared an ambush to capture it for Hu Jiu’s first Soul Ring.

  • Hu Jiu used the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer to destroy a pack of Shadow Wolves, while Tang San identified the wolves and explained their sharp sense of smell.
  • The three traveled deeper into the forest and found several Sky Swallowing Toads, but none had enough cultivation for Hu Jiu.
  • Hu Jiu sensed a Sky Swallowing Toad with more than ninety years of cultivation and assigned Tang San to trap it and Xiao Wu to bring it over.
  • Tang San and Xiao Wu rushed toward the target while Hu Jiu began building momentum with his iron hammer.
