Who Had He Been Deceived By?
Behind her, Lin Sui's thick brows drew down. His face was still red with embarrassment, but his eyes were fixed on her back as she looked out the window.
A deep, suppressed gleam flickered in his eyes.
What did she mean, telling him not to be deceived by other beautiful women? In all his life, who had ever deceived him?
Wasn't the only one who had done so this good master of his?
So, to keep him from lingering over their past absurdity, was she now calling women over to rid him of his thoughts of her?
Lin Sui had an inkling of Su Fuxi's purpose, and at once, dark flames burst through the soil of his heart and began to burn.
His face gradually hardened, and the hands hanging at his sides clenched into fists.
The window was wide, with an excellent view directly overlooking the large central stage. The pavilion's domed ceiling soared overhead, hung with countless palace lanterns.
Long lengths of red silk hung from the dome. A woman tapped her bare toes lightly against a ball of intertwined red silk and soared up, twisting her slender waist as she caught the silk in the air and flew across the entire stage.
Her toes tapped lightly in the air, lotuses blooming with every step. Light flashed from her hand, and a shower of petals drifted down like snowflakes.
Pink and rosy blossoms, bearing an alluring fragrance, fell into the spectators' hands and before their eyes, drawing cheers and applause from a crowd of rough jianghu men and roving cultivators.
A pink-and-white petal drifted onto the windowsill. The barrier rippled like water, but the petal remained unharmed, and a fair hand picked it up.
Su Fuxi held the petal and shook it gently. A cloyingly sweet fragrance wafted into her nose.
Heh, the Lovesickness Sect's Joyous Spirit Powder. Though it wasn't very concentrated, even this slight exposure would set a mortal's body ablaze with desire.
For cultivators, it merely added a little pleasure.
The Joyous Spirit Incense drifting outside the barrier could not penetrate it. Su Fuxi suddenly shook her head and flicked the petal away without concern, sending it spinning into the distance on the wind.
"Senior! The ladies are here!"
Su Fuxi turned around and, sure enough, saw the attendant push open the door and lead several beauties inside, one after another.
They carried spirit fruits, pastries, and fine wine. With figures as graceful as tender willows and voices like orioles, they bowed to Lin Sui and Su Fuxi in unison.
Lin Sui stepped back with a dark expression and sat down directly beside the low table.
Su Fuxi, meanwhile, studied the beauties for a moment. All four were Foundation Establishment cultivators, and one was at Peak Foundation Establishment.
The Lovesickness Sect was rumored to have many female cultivators, and its cultivation methods leaned toward the path of dual cultivation. But it was not as unrestrained as the Hehuan Sect of legend, and its reputation in Fallen Dragon Marsh was quite good.
One woman had ordinary but delicate features and was not a great beauty, but she had a fine figure, and her whole bearing possessed a natural charm. Perhaps that was the peculiarity of their cultivation method.
No wonder the Lovesickness Sect had long been known in Fallen Dragon Marsh as "Qingqiu in the Mortal World."
They truly were all as beautiful and alluring as fox demons.
"Come over here, all of you."
Su Fuxi reclined on the soft cushion on her side, glanced at the plainly displeased Lin Sui opposite her, and raised a slender hand to point at him. "He is my disciple. Serve him well tonight."
"Master." Lin Sui looked at Su Fuxi, his expression impassive on the ordinary face he wore in disguise. "Let them attend to you. This disciple doesn't need them."
"Heh." Su Fuxi tugged at the corner of her mouth. "Then let them teach you how to enjoy life."
He looked quite proper, acting as though beauty couldn't move him. If Su Fuxi hadn't seen him... forget it. In any case, she didn't believe him.
The female cultivator at Peak Foundation Establishment looked at the two of them, then exchanged glances with her sisters. After Su Fuxi gave her an encouraging nod, she gathered her courage and approached Lin Sui.
After all, he was a Golden Core cultivator, and she didn't dare be so forward as to lean against him at once.
"Senior... this is a specialty of our Lovesickness Pavilion, Flying Rosycloud Wine." She filled a cup from a jade flask and gently offered it to him with both hands.
Lin Sui looked up at Su Fuxi. Assuming no one here would harm them, he took the cup without so much as glancing at the beauty beside him.
Lowering his eyes, he saw that the wine in the cup was indeed as gorgeous as rosy clouds. He raised it to his lips, drained it in one gulp, and set the cup on the table with a smack.
That much was for his master's sake.
Seeing him drink so boldly, Su Fuxi raised a brow and waved for the female cultivators to give them a performance.
"Yes." The female cultivator with the exceptionally graceful figure danced lightly, while the others played the zither, plucked the pipa, blew the xun, and sang along.
Su Fuxi poured herself a cup of Flying Rosycloud Wine. Holding it in her hand, she took a sip as she watched the singing and dancing, feeling utterly refreshed.
The women were beautiful, the singing sweet, the dancing lovely, and the wine fine.
The wine was mellow, rich and fragrant on the tongue, with a sweet aftertaste. It was neither harsh nor astringent. It was good wine.
But Su Fuxi seldom drank, and Lin Sui, in turn, rarely drank either.
Even the mildest wine could make one drunk, to say nothing of this famous Flying Rosy Clouds Wine. She didn't dare drink it cup after cup.
Lin Sui watched her lounge with unrestrained ease like a jianghu wanderer, her red lips sipping wine as she enjoyed the music, and felt as though a fire were scorching his heart.
He had drunk a cup without thinking earlier, and now the alcohol was taking effect. Only then did he realize that the mellow, sweet, and fragrant wine had such a startling delayed kick.
Lin Sui quietly circulated his spiritual power to dispel the alcohol, his cheeks growing slightly warm. Surely he, a dignified Golden Core cultivator, couldn't be knocked over by a single cup?
Draped in her black robe, Su Fuxi lounged askew on the cushion with her legs casually apart, a cup in her fair hand. Only her red lips showed beneath her hood, concealing her expression.
But the corners of her mouth curved faintly upward. Presumably, she was quite happy.
Her posture was utterly relaxed. Lin Sui had never seen this uninhibited side of her before.
If he hadn't known it was her, he would never have recognized her on seeing her like this.
Lin Sui lowered his head and poured himself a cup of wine. He supposed it was true: back then in the cave-
If he hadn't recognized her by a twist of fate, how could he have discovered that his master, the dignified and graceful Fairy Chongming, had such a gorgeous and subtly alluring side?
The music was pleasing to the ear, and Su Fuxi paid no mind to what Lin Sui was thinking. Once she had admired the beauty to her heart's content and the dance was over, she beckoned the women over to attend to them.
"Your name is Ruolian, right? Go and attend to him." She singled out the dancer, the one with unremarkable features and a stunning figure.
Lin Sui was unresponsive to their charms and kept a cold face. The other female cultivators were all a little afraid of him and acted stiffly around him, so they naturally nestled up beside Su Fuxi instead, peeling fruit, pouring wine, and massaging her shoulders and back. She thoroughly enjoyed herself.
Since Ruolian was reasonably well-behaved, Lin Sui let her pour his wine without objecting. But his eyes kept drifting toward Su Fuxi, and he chewed over the words "Su Fuxi, Master" again and again in his heart.
Across from him, a lovely female cultivator spoke softly as she peeled a crystal grape filled with spiritual energy. Holding it between slender fingertips, she smiled and brought it to Su Fuxi's lips. Su Fuxi lowered her head to glance at her and met her eyes.
Her long lashes blinked beneath her thin veil. Under the female cultivator's awestruck, expectant gaze, she lowered her head, parted her pearly teeth, and gently bit into the translucent spirit fruit, chewing slowly.
Mmm~ so sweet. Juice burst forth with the bite, and a crystalline drop ran out and clung to her lips. Su Fuxi instinctively ran the tip of her pink tongue over them, then crushed the flesh between her teeth and swallowed, her throat moving.
At the sight, Lin Sui stared in astonishment.
A dark gleam filled his eyes. When he looked again at the female cultivator, who was blushing as she stared at the fingertip Su Fuxi's lips had accidentally brushed, faint, murky traces of killing intent appeared in his eyes.
"Senior~ have another cup..." Suddenly, a fragrant breeze drew near, and a woman's supple body pressed against his arm.
Lin Sui abruptly came to his senses and looked at Ruolian, who was tentatively pressing close to him, killing intent in his eyes. The next moment, with a crack, he crushed her wrist.
"Ah!"
The woman let out a scream, her face instantly turning pale. Her body flew back and struck the floor with a bang.
