Background / History
Early Life and Cultivation
Su Fuxi was a man in her previous life. Following a car accident, she transmigrated into a young girl climbing the Azure Cloud Sect’s trial stairway. The opportunity to cultivate immortality made her accept the change of body, despite spending decades blind 1.
Starting as an outer disciple with ordinary aptitude, she advanced through persistent cultivation and carefully acquired resources. Even basic techniques were difficult to obtain: her first cultivation scripture cost ten years of savings, and she only gained access to the sect’s Azure Cloud Scripture after reaching Foundation Establishment 1 11.
She explored the Forgotten Land before the main story and obtained an incomplete secret handprint technique from ruins roughly a century before her introduction. By the opening chapter, two failed Nascent Soul breakthroughs had consumed much of her wealth, leaving her with nearly a hundred years of lifespan and no intention of abandoning immortality 1 16.
Taking Lin Sui as a Disciple
After her second failed breakthrough, Li Yuanqing sent Su Fuxi to eliminate a demonic entity in Pingzhou. She destroyed its skeletal manifestation, pursued its controller, and killed him. His possessions included a Golden Core, a defensive jade treasure, a Soul Banner, and an outer-sect Netherworld Sect method 1.
Recognizing the extraordinary golden light of Lin Sui’s fortune, she brought the orphaned boy to the sect and immediately registered him as her personal disciple. Publicly, he was the inheritor of her mantle; privately, she considered his body a possible escape from her own poor aptitude 2 3.
Her plan became concrete when she recalled a cauldron technique that could prepare another person for possession. She selected Nine Transformations Blood Refinement to strengthen Lin Sui’s body and secretly embedded a Cauldron Mark in the God-Slaying Finger she taught him 4 8.
Training and the Forgotten Land
Su Fuxi taught Lin Sui literacy, cultivation, swordsmanship, survival techniques, and body refinement. Her treatment mixed calculated investment with personal care: she comforted his nightmares, supplied clothing and equipment, cooked for him, and tended him after painful medicinal baths, while continuing to regard his body as her future vessel 5 6 9 11.
After six years refining her Restriction Flag, she prepared to revisit the Forgotten Land with him. She rejected Zha Wuren’s proposal to become Dao companions, obtained protective sword intent from Li Yuanqing, and upgraded her lifebound sword into Embroidered Gold 16 19 20.
Inside the secret realm, she sent Lin Sui to the outskirts while exploring the central ruins herself. When other Golden Core cultivators pressured her into opening the Pill Pavilion, she demanded their storage bags and promised payments, then turned the ruins’ destruction restriction against them. Several died beneath her sword or the restriction spear; Zha Wuren escaped wounded 22 26 28.
She subsequently rescued Fang Yun from an astral-wind restriction in exchange for her resources. The dead cultivators’ possessions brought Su Fuxi over a million spirit stones, numerous consumables, new weapons, and additional techniques 28 29.
Crimson Immortal Gu and Recovery
Zha Wuren led Gu Sheng, the Red Robe Daoist, to Su Fuxi. Gu Sheng infected her with the Crimson Immortal Gu, forcing her into a prolonged flight. She escaped detection by transforming into qi beneath a cold spring, but her attempt to suppress the gu with icy breath failed and inflicted cold poison 30 31.
Desperate to survive, she disguised herself as an unknown senior, restrained Lin Sui’s spiritual power and sight, and coerced him into dual cultivation to remove the gu. Lin Sui recognized her fragrance and clothing but concealed that knowledge. After the gu’s connection to her heart meridian disappeared, she put him to sleep, restored his belongings, and departed alone 32 33 34 35.
Su Fuxi later lured Red Robe to the Gold-Birth Fruit and killed him with Li Yuanqing’s stored sword intent. She claimed his spoils and tamed his golden cicada, while Lin Sui began the painful work of extracting her remaining cold poison 36 37 38 39.
Return and Immortal Market City
Before leaving the Forgotten Land, Su Fuxi extracted two small spirit crystal veins and the best spirit stone vein from the flood serpent’s lair. Lin Sui’s advancement to Mid Golden Core alarmed her: his growing strength threatened the conditions required for possession. She instructed him to stop advancing temporarily and concentrate on consolidating his cultivation and developing the God-Slaying Finger 43 44 45.
After returning to the Azure Cloud Sect, she reported the deaths of her fellow disciples, surrendered a teleportation treasure, and disclosed her discovery of a spirit stone vein to Li Yuanqing 45.
In Immortal Market City, she sought a talisman-restriction expert and information about posting a bounty. She also arranged entertainment from the Lovesickness Pavilion for Lin Sui, presenting it as worldly experience. The evening ended when he injured Ruolian after she pressed close to him, frustrating Su Fuxi’s efforts to divert his attention 47 48 49 50.
Appearance
- Face: Gentle features, vermilion lips, pearly teeth, and vacant eyes. Her beauty is renowned throughout southern Tianshui 1.
- Eyes: Usually covered with a purple silk ribbon; she later replaces it with moon-white silk 1 36.
- Hair: Long and dark, commonly half-pinned with a white jade hairpin. A white lock appears after her six-year seclusion, followed by additional white hairs during later preparations 15 16 18.
- Build: Slender and curvaceous, but not especially petite 21.
- Clothing: Often wears pale-purple silk gowns. For the Forgotten Land expedition, she wears a fitted purple top, loose trousers, and a belt carrying ornaments, bells, and a disguised emergency medicine bottle 1 22.
- Scent: Has a distinctive orchid fragrance that helps Lin Sui recognize her through her disguise 33.
Personality
Su Fuxi is taciturn, socially anxious, and accustomed to solitary cultivation. She dislikes being waited on and initially overlooks basic responsibilities such as feeding her mortal disciple. Her aloof public bearing contrasts with the practical inexperience of someone who has lived alone for centuries 1 4.
Her defining ambition is survival through cultivation. Poor aptitude has made her resource-conscious, persistent, and willing to employ ruthless methods. She kills enemies decisively, destroys evidence, bargains hard over rescues, and knowingly prepares Lin Sui as a vessel for possession 1 4 28 29.
Her conscience nevertheless persists. She buys Lin Sui clothes, comforts him after nightmares, and warns him that preserving his life matters more than protecting valuable equipment. As their bond deepens, she admits that he should not trust even her and questions the morality of her own plans 5 6 17 41 50.
She fiercely resists being treated as someone’s prospective wife and maintains that she and Lin Sui can only be master and disciple. Her insistence coexists with embarrassment over their concealed intimacy and an increasing reluctance to confront what he feels for her 16 36 38 45.
Abilities & Skills
Spiritual Sense and Soul Cultivation
Her blindness prompted centuries of investment in spiritual-sense techniques, making her divine sense substantially tougher than that of cultivators at the same realm 5 6.
- Alternative perception: Spiritual sense provides a gray-and-white view of her surroundings, not normal color vision. Physicians and immortal arts have failed to cure her eyes; the condition is believed to originate in her soul 1.
- Thousand Mysteries Soul Refining Art: One of her primary methods, cultivated more intensely to improve her chances of possessing Lin Sui 12.
- Mental defenses: Builds golden formations and purple-gold spiritual-sense whips around her spiritual altar. She adds a second golden seal and seventh whip, later reaching three golden handprints working with seven whips 6 9 12.
- Defensive limit: By the spiritual-root assembly, ordinary attacks on her divine sense are ineffective; a Nascent Soul invasion remains a threat 12.
- Fortune perception: Can perceive the golden light associated with Lin Sui’s extraordinary fortune 2 3.
Restrictions and Formations
Su Fuxi independently studies restrictions and accumulates offensive, defensive, sealing, and concealment methods 16 18 28.
- Crafts a Restriction Flag and a separate concealment flag for Lin Sui 16 18.
- Analyzes ancient restrictions to access hidden spaces, escape pursuers, and briefly interrupt the astral winds trapping Fang Yun 23 28 29.
- Learns high-grade restrictions capable of transferring damage and combining attacks 28.
- Seals and collects entire spiritual veins 43.
God-Slaying Finger and Possession
The God-Slaying Finger generates Slaughter Qi through killing. That qi can be condensed into Slaughter Crystals and eventually refined into a Soul of Slaughter for offense or defense 8 11.
- Demonstrates the refinement of Slaughter Qi into crystals 11.
- Secretly modifies Lin Sui’s copy with a Cauldron Mark, intended to mature as he cultivates 8 21.
- The possession method can erase the vessel’s spiritual sense and expel or devour its soul, provided the vessel’s cultivation is no higher than hers 4.
- Lin Sui’s rapid advancement therefore threatens the plan rather than simply benefiting it 44 45.
Swordsmanship and Combat Arts
- Remnant Star Sword Art: Demonstrates its movements and sword qi with a bamboo sword, pulverizing stones and weeds. The incomplete art can produce sword intent at minor mastery 9.
- Secret handprint technique: Uses powerful golden palm imprints obtained from ancient ruins; its latter half is incomplete 1 43.
- Elemental techniques: Employs lightning, water, cleansing, and other basic arts. Her perfected Fireball Technique can rapidly reduce bodies and nearby vegetation to ash 1 11.
- Purple Lightning Scripture: Learns this intermediate lightning art from the Pill Pavilion spoils 29.
Escape, Refining, and Beast Control
- Water Evasion Qi Transformation Technique: Allows escape and concealment through transformation into qi; she uses it to hide underwater from Red Robe 29 31.
- Artifact refinement: Upgrades her lifebound sword with Golden Ring Wood and repairs Lin Sui’s shattered soul banner 19 21.
- Beast Taming Soul Restriction: Studies the method, later refines a second-tier python into a soul guard, and replaces Red Robe’s imprint on the golden cicada with her own 19 38 41.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Embroidered Gold: Her blue crystal lifebound sword, owned for over two hundred years. Adding Golden Ring Wood improves its toughness while preserving its exceptional speed and armor-piercing ability 19.
- Restriction Flag: Contains eighty-one defensive and eighty-one offensive restrictions at minor completion. Can withstand one Nascent Soul attack and severely injure a Golden Core cultivator 16.
- Nascent Soul sword intent: Given by Li Yuanqing and later expended to kill Red Robe. Su Fuxi can draw out only seventy percent of its power, with substantial exertion 16 37.
- Sun and Moon Bells: Paired silver bells that sense one another across ten thousand li. She gives the moon bell to Lin Sui 18 19.
- Three Stars Sword Array: A captured set of three multicolored swords, powerful enough to kill an Early Golden Core cultivator with ease 29.
- Golden cicada: Red Robe’s former beast, which she subdues, heals with fruit and pills, and uses as a flying mount 38.
- Thousand Silk Gu: Retrieves it after it advances to the third tier by consuming spirit crystals for a year 43.
- Emergency medicine gourd: A thumb-sized jade bottle worn outside her storage bag, allowing access to pills if the bag is restricted 22.

He recognizes her during the disguised detoxification encounter but lets her believe her identity remains secret 3 4 15 33 41.
