This is the second time the Rhine Clan has organized its members to travel to Falling Rain City.
This time, the team was led by Anya and Maisiji. A few years ago, Maisiji finally refined High Godhead. The Divine Spark he obtained was quite good, and he should now have the strength of Four Star Fiend.
Two Highgod who Refine Divine Spark are enough to protect the safety of the journey.
Also traveling with them were Cheryl, Mozhiyou, and Delisha.
Cheryl and Mozhiyou, having gained some insights after completing their mission, did not leave immediately but instead hitched a ride with the Rhine Clan today; as for Delisha, she wanted to improve her Fiend level.
Under normal circumstances, the star Fiend Medallion cannot be determined, but within the Fiend Castle, Fiend with higher star ratings have certain privileges; moreover, the Rhine Clan is now an ally of Lord Lloyd, so if Theresa needs to meet anyone in the future, Delisha low star rating will make her lose face.
As the head of her clan, Delisha should at least have a Five-Star Fiend badge to maintain appearances, so this time she brought her Lightning Element and Death Clone, and their combined strength should be at the level of Five-Star Fiend.
Jason was also on this Metallic Airship. He had previously applied to Delisha to go out for some training. Since Delisha also wanted to upgrade her badge star level, Jason would be happy to go with her if the mission wasn't too difficult.
Jason's current strength means he's only likely to encounter enemies of similar strength when doing Fiend quests.
Even when they used Metallic Airship shaped like a "knife" a second time, many bandit groups still came forward to rob it.
Maisiji had just Refine Divine Spark, so he used them as practice subjects. Some of his tribesmen who had accompanied him also went out with Maisiji to fight bandits. This time, Jason didn't hold back and rushed in to warm up as well.
The other Highgod on the airship didn't have any objections; they weren't in a hurry anyway, so they just watched for fun.
Upon arriving in Falling Rain City, this time Maisiji was in charge of paying the entrance fee.
This was the first time Jason had come to Falling Rain City without a mission.
"Everyone, we'll be staying in the city for a month this time. Last time we were delayed due to special circumstances, so please be punctual this time. Those who have been here before, please take the members who are visiting the city for the first time to our family's residence. If anyone gets separated, go there to meet them." Maisiji gave detailed instructions.
Afterwards Anya and Maisiji went to North Skeleton Castle and sold some of the family's products from those years.
Jason followed Delisha and the others to the Fiend Castle.
Cheryl and Mozhiyou completed the task, and after Delisha confirmed and paid the final payment, the staff of the Fiend Castle confirmed that the contract between the two parties was terminated.
After exchanging pleasantries, they parted ways. Having known each other for decades, they had already had a farewell dinner.
"What mission do we have next?" Delisha and Jason stepped forward.
The two had previously inquired with Cheryl that there were generally many promotion quests for Four Star Fiend, with varying levels of difficulty; only promotion quests for Four Star Fiend and above required specific tasks to be assigned by the Fiend Castle.
Jason and Delisha will likely have the opportunity to participate in two missions together before parting ways— Jason isn't confident he can complete the mission against the Four Star Fiend.
Jason glanced at the missions. "They're all combat-related. Aren't there any escort missions?"
Perhaps the Fiend organization fears that other types of missions cannot accurately test the abilities of the participants, so all promotion missions are proactive.
Jason wasn't avoiding the battle; after all, he came out to train himself. However, he hoped to take this opportunity to explore the surrounding area, at least to visit all twenty cities and one prefecture of Northbone Prefecture.
"This one will do," Delisha said, pointing to one of the tasks.
"To besiege White Stone Mountain Castle?" Jason looked at the direction Delisha was pointing.
"Since this mission takes place inside the castle, I feel like I might find some treasure."
Jason recalled that in the original story, Linley and his companions' Demon trial also involved besieging a castle, and he couldn't help but feel suspicious.
However, when he browsed the other tasks, he found that all the tasks were quite similar, and it seemed that they were all carried out by Highgod and Midgod working together.
Jason asked the Fiend at the front desk, "Excuse me, why are there so many large-scale encirclement and suppression missions? It's like we're at war."
The middle-aged man at the front desk said, "Because the former lord of the Western Bone Dragon Prefecture recently died in battle, the new lord of the Bone Dragon Prefecture was directly appointed by the Sovereign, but his strength is not enough to convince the people. Therefore, several prefectures around the Bone Dragon Prefecture are trying to take advantage of the chaos to gain a share of the benefits."
Amidst the chaos, some factions within the Bone Dragon Prefecture relocated to neighboring prefectures, sparking conflicts between them. Previously connected factions within the Northbone Prefecture Bone Dragon Prefecture were also purged. Several prefectures surrounding the Bone Dragon Prefecture also hindered each other. In short, the areas near the Bone Dragon Prefecture are in chaos. Our Falling Rain City, being relatively remote, is somewhat better off, but the southwest of the Northbone Prefecture is in complete disarray.
Jason and Delisha exchanged a glance, thinking of the bandits who had roamed here hundreds of years ago.
"Was the Bone Dragon Prefecture Lord's death an accident?" Jason asked.
"It seems so, but I don't know the specific reason. Maybe we ran into some enemies." The receptionist shrugged. "Alright, pick a mission. In my opinion, these missions are all pretty much the same."
"Is it because of Planar Wars?" Jason guessed.
Planar Wars in total, and I don't know which one we're in now.
In the end Delisha chose the task she had initially set her sights on.
"I need to go to North Skeleton Castle to buy some self-defense items, just in case," Jason said after accepting the mission.
Jason was actually thinking of Linley and his Fiend Mission from the original story. This time, Jason and his group had a large number of members on their advancement mission, a full three hundred Fiend, led by thirteen Highgod who were about to be promoted to four stars and two Five-Star Fiend. Of course, Delisha was not included among them.
"I happen to need to sell something." Delisha followed along.
Jason had nothing to sell. Maisiji had mentioned that the family shops needed some stock, so he sold all the materials, Divine Spark, and Divine Artifact he didn't need to the family at a low price.
Perhaps the High Godhead essence in Delisha's possession was of mediocre quality and not worth refining by her family members, so Delisha did not give it to Maisiji, but instead took it to the North Skeleton Castle to sell.
The two went straight to the third floor.
"Two superior Deathgod Golem." Jason spent twenty million Nether Stone in one go.
When Jason first arrived in Falling Rain City, his Deathgod Golem was attacked and damaged on the way back. Later, Delisha gave Jason a superior Deathgod Golem. But having learned from his previous experience, Jason knew that one Deathgod Golem would be far from enough against a powerful enemy.
Aren't you afraid of revealing your wealth and attracting unwanted attention?
"What's there to be afraid of with the clan leader around?" Jason, completely unconcerned.
Delisha bought 10,000 bottles of "Water of the Ageless River" without any hesitation, totaling 50 million Nether Stone, which shocked the receiving clerk. No one had ever bought so much "Water of the Ageless River" at once before.
"I'm stocking up on some supplies for the family!" Delisha lied without batting an eye.
Jason bought another batch of materials compatible with the Death Divine Power, as he wanted to equip his Death Clone with a set of high-quality Divine Artifact prototypes.
