Jason was keen to befriend Bluefire. Whether it was the heights Bluefire had reached in the original Bluefire, his current strength, or his personality, all of these made him a worthy friend of Bluefire 'Jason.
As for Adkins, Jason only killed one of his insignificant henchmen, leaving Bernas untouched. In the original story, Adkins was merely a bit arrogant, but didn't exhibit any particularly twisted personality traits. Since this opportunity presented itself, there was no harm in making his acquaintance.
If he is wiped out by Beirut in the future, then it doesn't matter; if not, there's no need to make another enemy.
A breakthrough to Deity-level requires a long period of study; sometimes, even a Floating Shadow needs to be observed dozens of times. Bluefire and the others stayed in the cave for more than ten days without making a sound, and Jason did not disturb them.
The first one to emerge was Burgess, Bluefire's older brother, Midgod.
The first thing he said when he came out was that he had gained some insight and needed a place to meditate. Jason pointed him to an unused valley, and he hurriedly went there to cultivate.
The second one to emerge was a Midgod under Adkins named Gaitenbi, a rather straightforward-looking, burly man. He and Bernas had taken the opportunity to escape during the previous battle.
Jason vaguely remembered this character from the original story.
"Lord Jason, I have some understanding, but I can't quite grasp it yet. Do you have any Midgod here who can fight me a few rounds?"
Jason was sunbathing when Gaitenbi's comment almost made him burst out laughing. Asking someone to fight in someone else's house—he would never do that. Was this guy a little too honest?
However, Jason said with a smile, "It's not impossible, but be careful, my juniors are quite strong."
Jason communicated with Beibei using his mind, and Bebe's figure flew over.
"Uncle Jason, who do you want me to beat up!" Bebe said excitedly, head held high.
Bebe had only been at the Deity-level for a few years, and after arriving at Dragonblood Castle, she had been consolidating her strength.
Clear Spring and Olivier flew over from behind.
"This Mr. Gaitenbi wants to spar with Deity-level opponent who also cultivates Darkness Element, so I recommended the three of you," Jason said, pointing to the burly man beside him.
"Midgod? You want to harm us?" Clear Spring spoke casually to Jason.
Olivier and Bebe, however, looked eager to try.
"Don't say that. Three against one, you have a big advantage, and you're safe here. Get used to it beforehand. There will be plenty of battles where you have no choice in the matter once you reach the Higher Planes." Jason said seriously, with no intention of teasing them.
Gaitenbi said, "Lord Jason, how about we forget it? I just wanted to spar with someone; these three are merely Lowgod."
Jason said with a serious expression, "What, you look down on me? Let me tell you, these three are all promising juniors of mine, and their future achievements may even surpass mine!"
The straightforward Gaitenbi a moment, feeling that this was a bit too much of a bully.
Jason pointed in one direction. "There's an arena that Jenny specially made for Deity-level battles over there. We can take this opportunity to inspect it."
The four were somewhat bewildered as Jason pushed them into the ring.
Although Gaitenbi taciturn, he was still somewhat angry that Jason had underestimated him.
"I'll try to take them down in three moves, using physical attacks as much as possible," Gaitenbi thought to himself, as Dark Divine Power began to condense on his fists.
Yes, the four of them just had a brief discussion and decided not to use Divine Artifact, just pure hand-to-hand combat.
Then, the first to Gaitenbi was Bebe – Bebe was naturally knocked flying to the edge of the ring, but Gaitenbi also staggered back a few steps, his internal organs shaken.
Bebe's current physical strength is only at the Midgod Artifact level. After all, the God-Eater Rat's physical strength heavily depends on God-Eater, and Bebe hasn't even devoured a single Divine Spark yet.
A stunned Gaitenbi faced his second opponent.
Clear Spring's close combat ability is far inferior to Bebe's. As a mutated individual of the Beirut Family, Clear Spring's physical strength is relatively low, even lower than that of the Saint-level Dragon.
However, as a Deity-level expert specializing in the Profound Mysteries mysteries of "Curse," his characteristic is that he is unpredictable. The Curse of Profound Mysteries vary from person to person, and even Paragon of the Darkness Element cannot fully grasp them.
Two fists imbued with dark Dark Divine Power collided. Clear Spring coughed up blood and flew back as a black shadow, while Gaitenbi remained unharmed.
Just as Gaitenbi was gathering his Divine Power to deal with Olivier, he discovered that the purity of his Divine Power had actually decreased!
"Is this the Profound Mysteries Curse?" As Adkins ' subordinate, Gaitenbi had naturally heard about the characteristics of the six Profound Mysteries of the Darkness Element, but the Curse was Profound Mysteries he had not yet comprehended.
However, Olivier had already rushed in front of him, leaving Gaitenbi no time to find a way to deal with her.
Upon first contact, Gaitenbi discovered that his Midgod, weakened by the Curse of the Clear Spring, was actually inferior to Olivier's Divine Power; however, after a few seconds of struggle, Gaitenbi was even more astonished to find that Olivier's Divine Power Divine Power neither Darkness Element Divine Power nor Light Element!
And so, Olivier also staggered back a few steps, in exchange for Gaitenbi taking two steps back—even with the advantage of Divine Power, the difference in Profound Mysteries could not be bridged.
The three of them surrounded them again.
Gaitenbi prepared to use his full strength because he felt that these three Lowgod could really defeat him.
The three opponents suddenly felt a surge of fighting spirit, because they realized they weren't that much worse off.
Especially Bebe, despite his disheveled appearance just now, he was actually unharmed. This was mainly because his fighting style was straightforward, with powerful attacks resulting in a strong recoil.
As Bebe charged forward again, the four of them got into a fierce battle.
Bluefire appeared behind Jason.
Jason turned his head. "Have you finished looking at the Floating Shadow?"
"No, this is just my Earth Element Clone. Speaking of which, this is the first time I've ever seen Deity-level being able to fuse two Divine Power." Bluefire was, of course, referring to Olivier.
"This is called Soul Mutation, which occurs only with an extremely small probability after the soul has been damaged. This is only the second time I've seen it."
Bluefire nodded, not asking any further questions, and instead focused his gaze on the arena.
The arena was well-constructed; not only did it not shatter during the battle between the four Deity-level, but the surrounding protective barrier also diverted the aftershocks of the battle upwards, preventing them from affecting the surrounding area.
Just then, Jason's expression suddenly turned serious.
Bluefire noticed Jason's unusual behavior and asked, "What's wrong?"
"It seems my Fate Clone has made a breakthrough."
Bluefire became interested. "By the way, is there some kind of concealment array beneath Dragonblood Castle? Even my Highgod sense couldn't locate your other avatars."
Over such a long period of time, Bluefire naturally noticed the anomaly beneath Dragonblood Castle, but he simply didn't investigate it further.
"I suppose so," Jason said without going into details.
Realizing Jason wasn't in the mood to talk about these things, Bluefire turned his attention to the ring.
The final battle ended with Gaitenbi stating that he had gained some insight and needed to meditate, but everyone around could see that Gaitenbi was going to lose.
Gaitenbi had even used his soul attack, but he still couldn't defeat the three, especially Bebe and Olivier, who actually withstood the soul attack of Midgod.
This made Bluefire and the others suspect that Jason might possess some secret technique for defending the soul, which he had shared with his subordinates.
Adkins and Bernas had already noticed the fighting outside and came out.
Bluefire's two brothers, however, remained calm and unconcerned about Lowgod challenging Midgod. Jason guessed that it might be because Bluefire had done it before, causing them to become accustomed to it.
After the battle, Gaitenbi looked a little embarrassed. Adkins simply told him to go train and send him away.
Just then, another Jason in golden robes flew over and merged with the current clone.
Adkins looked on in astonishment. "You've broken through to the Highgod!?"
