Background / History

Transmigration and Succession

Li Yunjing transmigrated to Tianyuan three years before the opening and became one of the Luozhen Sect’s three True Disciples. He joined slightly earlier than Mo Xuan and Shui Yao, making him their eldest senior brother. His master, Nangong Chengyu, trained him in alchemy before illness interrupted that instruction 1 6 16 45.

After Nangong Chengyu died, Li Yunjing succeeded him as Sect Master, approximately one year before the opening. Mo Xuan and Shui Yao left to seek opportunities elsewhere, although they remained close to him and periodically returned with cultivation resources. Li Yunjing retained their positions as elders and hoped to persuade them to return permanently 1 4.

Rebuilding the Luozhen Sect

Li Yunjing’s building-upgrade panel had activated upon his arrival in Tianyuan, but he could not use it without both the Sect Master position and sufficient sect prosperity. Recruiting Zhang Hanpeng finally raised prosperity from zero to one, allowing him to begin upgrading the sect’s buildings 1.

His first improvements created new sources of cultivation resources and income: Luozhen Hall produced Pure Spiritual Qi, the Poultry Coop supplied spiritual eggs, and the Patriarch Hall’s incense offerings yielded treasures. He financed further construction through rice sales, occasional sales of Pure Spiritual Qi, and pill refinement 2 5 8 10 17 20.

Despite Jin Wuxu’s repeated recruitment offers, Li Yunjing refused to abandon the sect. He hired Zhang Hongzhi and his fellow craftsmen to restore its abandoned facilities and construct a personal cave abode, which also became eligible for upgrades 5 11 18 32.

Saving His Junior Disciples

Before Mo Xuan and Shui Yao explored a Golden Core cave abode, Li Yunjing supplied them with five high-quality first-grade Law Artifacts to improve their chances of survival. When reports of catastrophic casualties reached Xunxian Town, he attempted to contact them and commissioned Gao Jin to investigate their whereabouts 7 16 17.

After a false lead involving mutilated corpses, he found the pair unconscious at the sect’s mountain gate. Flesh Regeneration Pills were insufficient to stabilize their condition, so he used two Immortal Dew Pills to save them. Once recovered enough to make their decision, both asked to return to the sect as elders 21 23 26.

Preserving Immortal Alliance Membership

The Luozhen Sect faced losing its Immortal Alliance membership unless it could produce a Foundation Establishment cultivator before the assessment. Li Yunjing combined building-assisted cultivation with an enlightenment opportunity and successfully reached Foundation Establishment Early Stage during seclusion 1 15 30 32.

His breakthrough secured the sect’s membership and defeated the Li Household’s immediate attempt to obtain Serene Valley. Rather than escalate the dispute, he accepted apologies and prioritized rebuilding. He then helped prepare Mo Xuan and Shui Yao for their own breakthroughs; after both succeeded, the three planned a joint Foundation Establishment banquet for the ninth day of the twelfth month 34 39 43.

Expansion and Bandit Threats

Li Yunjing considered accepting the Wang Household of Seven Ingenuities Mountain as a subordinate force, but first ordered an investigation into the local situation. Lü Hong uncovered forbidden Illusory Spirit Flower cultivation and suspected bandit involvement, prompting Li Yunjing to report the matter to the Immortal Alliance 39 40 43 45.

While distributing banquet invitations, he rescued Departing Maple Sect disciples from bandits and summoned Alliance reinforcements. He also visited Ding Qifeng, his late master’s friend, and invited the experienced second-grade alchemist to become the Luozhen Sect’s chief alchemist; no acceptance is established in the provided account 47 48.

When Wang Shanming later reported an imminent attack by the Zhao Household and Heavenly Star Bandits, Li Yunjing demanded an explanation of the Wang Household’s involvement. After learning that it had expelled members who secretly grew the forbidden flowers, he agreed to intervene and sent Mo Xuan to assist while seeking Immortal Alliance support 50.

Personality

Li Yunjing is cautious about risks that do not serve the sect’s development. He rejects a lucrative herb-gathering job at Soul Severing Cliff because of its poisonous miasma and sees no reason to gamble his life when his upgrade ability rewards steady development. Against organized bandits, he prefers investigation and Alliance reinforcements over fighting alone 12 43.

His loyalty is practical rather than indiscriminate. He refuses attractive employment offers, spends valuable medicine to save his junior disciples, and accepts responsibility for nurturing disciples with poor aptitude. However, he makes recruitment voluntary only after explaining the sect’s difficulties, warns against defection, and refuses to shelter accomplices of bandits 5 23 28 39 50.

He also carefully manages what others know about him. He attributes the buildings’ extraordinary effects to the patriarch’s power, asks Li Mingjie to conceal his alchemist identity, and recognizes that repeatedly selling Pure Spiritual Qi would invite suspicion 20 23 29 30.

Abilities & Skills

Sect Building Upgrade Panel

Li Yunjing’s principal advantage is a panel that upgrades sect buildings once their requirements are satisfied 1 2.

  • Activation conditions: Initially required him to become Sect Master and raise sect prosperity above zero 1.
  • Upgrade requirements: Can include repairs, materials, Spirit Stones, cultivation thresholds, prosperity, or actions performed within a building 14 19 23 41.
  • Resource production: Generates Pure Spiritual Qi and Patriarch Incense Offerings; upgraded facilities also improve agricultural and poultry output 2 8 10 21.
  • System storage: Holds system-produced items but cannot accept arbitrary personal belongings 2.
  • New structures: Newly constructed facilities, including his cave abode and medicinal garden, can become upgradable buildings 18 21.

Greater Yin and Greater Yang True Fire Scripture

His primary method is an incomplete second-rank version of a fifth-rank cultivation scripture, obtained for him by his master 26.

  • His strong wood and fire Spirit Roots complement one another, making fire-aspect cultivation particularly suitable for him 16.
  • The available scripture has eight levels; each increases cultivation speed, Law Power capacity, and the upper limit of Divine Sense 41.
  • Reaching the fourth level requires taking Fire in Stone into his body 41.

Fire Mysterious Light

A second-rank fire-aspect Law Technique obtained from the treasures brought back by Mo Xuan and Shui Yao 25.

  • Condenses a strand of controllable mysterious light for both offense and defense 25.
  • At minor mastery, Li Yunjing shapes it into a serpent-like strand or spreads it into a curtain of light 32.
  • He later uses fiery arcane light to bind multiple bandit cultivators 47.

Divine Sense

Li Yunjing uses Divine Sense for reconnaissance, inspecting treasures, and physically restraining others 11 25 47 50.

  • Detects a battle slightly over eight hundred paces away, near his demonstrated sensing limit at that time 47.
  • Forms a giant hand to seize a fleeing cultivator 47.
  • Lifts Wang Shanming to his feet and temporarily seals his mouth during questioning 50.

Wind-Riding Escape

A second-grade escape technique that becomes usable after Foundation Establishment 35.

  • On its first demonstrated use, cuts his journey to Xunxian Town from roughly an hour with a Breeze Talisman to about half an hour 35.
  • Consumes Law Power; he initially restrains his speed to conserve his reserves 35.

Alchemy

  • Refines premium Yellow Sprout Pills and produces batches of Flesh Regeneration Pills 20 30.
  • Uses the upgraded Alchemy Chamber to improve refinement efficiency and support the sect financially 20.
  • Studies the Jade Lingzhi Pill Formula and begins preparations using Golden Yang Lingzhi, Azure Flame Flower, and Moon Flow Radiance; successful refinement is not yet documented 50.

  • Ancient writing: Learned ancient characters from his master, enabling him to read the Seventy-Two Sword Killing Formation diagram 25.

  • Formation study: Decides to learn formation setup himself as a temporary solution while planning to train a dedicated sect formation master 44.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Storage Bags — Carry supplies, treasures, and upgrade materials; Luo Qiyuan’s pavilion gives him an additional bag with a major purchase 5 37.
  • Patriarch Hall incense burner — The sect’s surviving storage Law Artifact at the opening, used to safeguard its remaining assets. Forcing it open would destroy its contents 3 16.
  • Treasure vase — Holds Pure Spiritual Qi outside system storage, allowing him to present it for appraisal and sale 17.
  • Jade hook Spirit Artifact — A superior second-tier artifact with eighteen Law Restrictions. At Qi Refining Completion, activating it would nearly exhaust his Law Power 25.
  • Seventy-Two Sword Killing Formation diagram — Supports formations ranging from first to third grade depending on the swords used. The sect initially lacks the necessary Law Swords 25 26.
  • Yin-Yang Primordial Magnet Stone — A rare apology gift from the Li Household, intended as material for a custom artifact commissioned through Jiang Chuan 39 40 46.
  • Immortal Alliance Member Token — Confirms his membership status and allows him to contact the Xunxian Town branch for assistance 34 47.
  • Foundation Establishment Pills — Acquired among the cave-abode treasures. He regards using them for his own breakthrough as a last resort rather than his preferred approach 25.
