History

Decline and Succession

Luozhen Sect was once prosperous enough to join the Immortal Alliance, but had already dwindled to its sect master and three True Disciples before Nangong Chengyu’s death. Li Yunjing succeeded him one year before the opening chapter. Mo Xuan and Shui Yao left to seek opportunities elsewhere, leaving Li Yunjing as the only member who stayed 1 47.

Its remaining buildings were severely neglected, and its reputation made recruitment difficult. Without a Foundation Establishment cultivator, the sect faced losing Immortal Alliance benefits and protection—and, with them, its hold on Serene Valley 1 5 7.

Rebuilding the Sect

Zhang Hanpeng’s initiation activates Li Yunjing’s sect-management panel. Li Yunjing begins repairing and upgrading the surviving buildings, financing the work through sales of Golden Jade Rice. He refuses Jin Wuxu’s invitation to abandon the sect for the Golden Millet Pavilion 1 2 5.

The rebuilding effort expands beyond the original facilities. Craftsmen restore damaged rooms and construct a cave abode, while Li Yunjing establishes a medicinal garden and revives disciple benefits and merit rewards. After surviving the Golden Core tomb expedition, Mo Xuan and Shui Yao return as elders; Zhang Hanpeng subsequently recruits four more outer disciples 11 15 20 21 26 28.

Immortal Alliance Inspection

The Li Household attempts to secure Serene Valley in anticipation of Luozhen Sect losing its membership. Its cultivators confront the sect while Li Yunjing is secluded, but the elders prevent them from disturbing him 31 32.

On September fifteenth, Li Yunjing announces his Foundation Establishment breakthrough just as Wang Qianxue is about to revoke the sect’s qualifications. The Immortal Alliance confirms its continued membership, and the Li Household withdraws. Li Yunjing avoids escalating the dispute, judging peaceful relations more useful to the recovering sect 33 34.

Renewed Regional Activity

After Mo Xuan and Shui Yao also reach Foundation Establishment, the sect schedules a joint celebration for December ninth. Li Yunjing uses the invitations to renew old sect friendships and approach skilled cultivators about joining 43 45 46 47 49.

The sect also investigates the Wang Household’s request for protection on Seven Ingenuities Mountain. Once satisfied that the household has no ties to the Heavenly Star Bandits, Li Yunjing agrees to intervene and sends Mo Xuan to assist it 40 43 50.

Recruitment and Rules

  • Cultivation eligibility: Early recruitment requires a Spirit Root and the ability to cultivate, without a demanding talent threshold 1.
  • No entrance examination: The four later recruits are accepted without an examination or minimum Root Bone grade; their talent is tested after initiation 28.
  • Voluntary entry: Li Yunjing explains the sect’s poor circumstances and lets unwilling applicants leave. Members are expected to help rebuild it 28.
  • Initiation: Recruits pay respects to the patriarchs in the Patriarch Hall and enter as outer disciples 1 28.
  • Loyalty: Li Yunjing explicitly warns that defection after joining will be treated as betrayal 1 28.

Benefits and Merits

  • Monthly benefits: Li Yunjing proposes one bottle of pills and ten Low-Grade Spirit Stones per outer disciple. His first documented distribution gives Zhang Hanpeng two premium Yellow Sprout Pills and ten stones 20.
  • Merit system: Minor Merits and Major Merits predate the sect’s decline. Li Yunjing revises and reinstates the system to reward service 20.
  • Exchanges: The merit list includes spirit rice and Yellow Sprout Pills. Limited supplies initially restrict fine-grade Yellow Sprout Pill exchanges to three per month 29 30.
  • Mission rewards: Lü Hong receives ten Minor Merits, fifty Low-Grade Spirit Stones, two premium spirit chicken eggs, and Crimson Cloud Iron for his Seven Ingenuities Mountain investigation 43.

Territory and Facilities

Serene Valley

  • Terrain: A large valley containing a stream and the sect’s buildings 1.
  • Spirit Vein: A second-grade Spirit Vein lies beneath the valley. Its quality is described inconsistently: high-quality in an early account, but low-tier in a later discussion 7 42.
  • Layout: The training ground stands before Luozhen Hall; the disciple residences occupy the southwest; Li Yunjing selects a cave-abode site roughly two hundred paces behind the hall 13 35.

Upgrade System

  • Repair before registration: The ruined Scripture Library, Alchemy Chamber, and cultivation room initially cannot register for upgrades because they are too badly damaged 9.
  • New construction: Newly built facilities can be registered as upgradable structures, including the Medicine Garden, training ground, and disciple residences 21 35.
  • Requirements: Upgrades consume specified materials and may require cultivation levels, prosperity thresholds, or another facility 10 24 38 41.
  • Craftsmanship: Simple training grounds and residences can be built by disciples; treasuries and talisman rooms require professional craftsmen to inscribe formations 40.
  • System storage: Li Yunjing’s system storage accepts system-produced items, not ordinary personal belongings. Pure Spiritual Qi dissipates if removed from storage 2.

Defensive Assets

  • Sect-protecting formation: Generated by the lv4 Grand Hall; allows the Mountain Gate to advance beyond lv3 38 41.
  • Seventy-Two Sword Killing Formation: The sect possesses its instructions but initially lacks the weapons to deploy it. Even the first-rank version requires twenty-three first-rank magic swords and one second-rank magic sword 26.
  • Immortal Alliance protection: Membership deters outsiders from seizing the valley and provides access to assistance through the member token 1 7 47.

Unlocked Requirements and Future Effects

  • Grand Hall lv5: Previewed effects include selecting one sect member for ten breaths of sudden enlightenment once per year. The upgrade requires Heavenly Gang Stone, Dao-enlightening Stones, and prosperity fifteen; it is not shown completed 38.

  • Pill refining: Li Yunjing produces premium Yellow Sprout Pills for sale and disciple support 20 21.
  • Immortal Alliance benefits: Membership provides periodic resources and member pricing on purchases, though the sect’s lower-lower rating limits its allotment 5 14.
  • Shared storage: The Patriarch Hall’s incense burner is the sect’s only remaining storage Law Artifact at the beginning, holding its Spirit Stones, rice, and other assets 3.
