Background / History

Fang Hexuan became a Luozhen Sect True Disciple roughly eight hundred years before meeting Li Yunjing. A talented cultivator with a sixth-rank root bone, he bore much of the pressure facing the declining Qingyou Luozhen Sect. After reaching Golden Core, he left to seek an opportunity to enter Nascent Soul, intending to return within ten years. His disappearance deprived the sect of a major protector and contributed to its further decline 64 250.

During his travels, he visited the Wushan Luozhen Sect to investigate its secret treasure. He subsequently entered the hidden treasury at Black Mountain and became trapped there. Later searches by the Wushan branch found no trace of him 250 260.

Approximately three hundred years before his reunion with Lin Suyu, cultivation with a treasury treasure caused his Primordial Spirit to leave his body and wander beyond the heavens. He entered the Heavenly Palace, learned cultivation methods, Law Techniques, and High Antiquity Divine Script, and met Lin Suyu. After leaving the palace, he broke through to Spirit Transformation, extending his lifespan sufficiently to survive until Li Yunjing opened the ruins 302 469 472.

Appearance

• Clothing: Appears in a blue dharma robe embroidered with dragons when first encountered in person 260.

Personality

Fang Hexuan is deeply attached to the Luozhen Sect. Learning how far it declined after his departure leaves him both pleased by its recovery and reproachful of his own absence. He openly praises Li Yunjing’s reunification of the sect’s branches and later territorial achievements 260 518.

He accepts discretion and deception when they protect the sect. Rather than expose Li Yunjing’s false claims about patriarchal blessings, he supports the explanation and declines to investigate his opportunities further. That trust has limits: he warns that he would personally act against Li Yunjing if his powers proved connected to evil gods 260 267 297.

In confrontation, Fang Hexuan is forceful, proud, and willing to use intimidation. He advises Li Yunjing that kindness alone will not secure submission, and takes his setback against Black Wind Cliff’s bear personally. His bluntness also extends to romance: he tells Lin Suyu outright that he entered her realm to conquer it, not to search for her 305 322 461 463.
