The Mission

The two Secret Martial Arts practitioners attacked with all their strength the moment they made their move.

They had received explicit instructions when they accepted the mission.

They were to move swiftly, finish the job quickly, and avoid making too much of a disturbance.

So neither held anything back. They opened with killing moves.

The square-faced middle-aged man let out a low growl and sent his right fist smashing forward.

Before the fist arrived, its force came first.

Force burst from his knuckles with a firecracker-like crack as it tore through the air, blasting straight at Su Han's face.

This was the Hua Jin fighting style: force left the body, dealing tremendous damage.

At the same time, the tall, thin man cut in from the side, his hands forming claws as he lunged forward.

One claw reached for Su Han's ribs, while the other went straight for his heart.

The two worked seamlessly together, one attacking from the front and the other from the side, sealing off Su Han's escape.

Their assault was intimidating, brimming with killing intent.

But Su Han stood where he was, without moving a muscle.

Only when the square-faced man's fist was half a foot from his face.

Did Su Han move.

He simply raised his right hand, clenched it into a fist, and met the attack.

There was no flashy technique, no gathering of strength, just an utterly ordinary punch.

But the instant he threw it, an abrupt change occurred.

A layer of dark red blood flames rose over Su Han's body, wrapping around his entire arm like a blazing fire.

Beneath the blood flames, another layer of transparent force flowed.

Qi and blood surged forth together with force, carrying searing heat and a piercing edge.

Combined, the two exploded in power.

"Boom!!!"

Their fists collided, and a shockwave erupted.

The expression on the square-faced man's face froze, then turned to horror.

All he felt was an indescribably terrifying force coming from Su Han's fist, like a collapsing mountain and a tsunami.

"Crack!"

First, the square-faced man's fist shattered.

Then the damage spread up his entire arm, and the force surged into his internal organs, churning them to pieces.

"Pfft!"

The square-faced man spat out a mouthful of blood.

The next second.

He flew backward and crashed into the wall.

"Bang!"

His body was embedded in the wall, his chest caved in. His eyes were still open, but all light had vanished from them.

He was dead.

One move, an instant kill.

It had all happened so quickly that the tall, thin man had yet to react.

But Su Han had already turned to look at him, his gaze as though he were looking at an ant.

A chill ran through the tall man's heart, and the hair all over his body stood on end.

Was this a joke?

How could a person be so strong? And something wasn't right.

Was this... a cult cultivation technique?

He wanted to run, but Su Han gave him no chance.

Su Han took one step and was already in front of him.

Again, he threw a punch.

Flames wrapped around his fist like a red-hot sledgehammer as it smashed toward the man's chest.

The tall man raised both arms to block it.

But it was no use at all.

"Crack!"

The bones in both arms shattered.

The fist passed through his broken arms and slammed into his chest.

The tall man also flew backward and crashed into another wall. As he slid down, blood was still pouring from his mouth.

He lay on the ground, his eyes full of terror and disbelief.

"Y-you're actually a member of a cult..."

Those were the only words he managed to spit out in the end.

Immediately afterward, he spat out another mouthful of blood and stopped breathing.

From the first attack to the end, less than three seconds had passed.

Two Hua Jin martial artists had died just like that.

But Su Han paid it no mind.

He returned to the window and considered his current situation.

He now had two important leads.

One was the Sturgeon Group, the group responsible for handling all of this.

The other was the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult.

That mysterious cult seemed to know a great deal about what had happened behind the scenes.

He would certainly investigate the Sturgeon Group.

But not now.

He wasn't stupid, either.

The other side could buy off the Security Patrol Office and send Hua Jin Secret Martial Arts practitioners after him. Its influence was surely considerable.

If he rushed in recklessly, he would likely be throwing his life away.

He had to investigate first, get a clear understanding of what they were capable of, and make sure he could beat them before making a move.

As for the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult...

He still needed to maintain contact with them.

He needed to obtain detailed information about the Sturgeon Group from them, as well as the subsequent Immortal Martial Arts cultivation techniques.

He needed more.

With that thought, Su Han took out his phone, opened Fetion, found Zhao Lei's account, and sent him a message.

"Are you there?"

"I want to know more about the Sturgeon Group."

A few minutes later, Zhao Lei replied, sounding very impatient.

"What's the rush? You only joined today, and your standing isn't high enough. You have to complete missions and accumulate contributions before I can give you information."

Su Han thought for a moment, then asked another question.

"Then can you tell me about my sister?"

This time, Zhao Lei sent a voice message directly, his tone harsh.

"Are you fucking done? I told you your standing isn't high enough. Can't you understand plain language? Keep bothering me and I'll revoke your menial disciple status. Want to test me?"

Su Han's gaze turned cold.

But he didn't lash out. Instead, he suppressed his anger and continued messaging:

"Can I take a mission now, then?"

Zhao Lei took a while to reply:

"Sure. You want to get yourself killed? I'll grant your wish."

"Mission: Go to Fufa District, find the Secret Martial Arts sect called the Red Fist Sect, and exterminate the entire sect."

"That's it."

With that, he went offline, and his profile picture turned gray.

Su Han looked at his phone screen in silence for a few seconds.

Fufa District.

It was in the neighboring district, not far away.

The Red Fist Sect...

Exterminate the entire sect?

He put away his phone, turned, and walked out of the room.

At the same time.

In Luofu District, in a room in a simple lodging building opposite Jinghai University.

Three people were sitting around a table.

Two men and one woman.

One of them was Zhao Lei.

They were all outer sect disciples of the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult.

Zhao Lei had just put away his phone, still cursing under his breath.

"Damn it, what a pain in the ass! A piece of cannon fodder we just recruited actually thinks he's somebody?"

One of the men, who was bald, asked with a smile, "What's wrong, Leizi? Who pissed you off?"

"The one I told you about before."

Zhao Lei lit a cigarette, took a drag, and said disdainfully.

"That poor wretch I found through the security patrol system's records. His whole family was dead, and he had some skill in Secret Martial Arts, so I made him a menial disciple to serve as cannon fodder."

"I was going to wait a while and use him when a suitable opportunity came up."

"Who knew the guy was so eager to get himself killed? He kept asking me about this and that."

"So you assigned him a mission?" the short-haired woman asked.

"Yeah." Zhao Lei sneered. "I told him to take care of the Red Fist Sect."

"The Red Fist Sect?" The bald man was taken aback.

"That Secret Martial Arts sect? They're pretty strong. Their sect master, Xue Hongquan, is at Baodan, and several of their elders are all at Hua Jin."

"Can the guy you're talking about handle that?"

"Hahaha, like hell he can! That guy's only at Ming Jin, An Jin at the absolute most." Zhao Lei blew out a smoke ring.

"Isn't that sending him to his death?"

"That's exactly what I'm sending him to do." Zhao Lei grinned.

"That's what he gets for the way he spoke to me just now."

"I was going to give him a simpler mission after a while, but now... heh, he brought this on himself."

People like Su Han, along with all the other menial disciples, were to formal outer sect disciples like them.

Nothing but cannon fodder, unworthy of much attention.

Then the group suddenly looked toward the entrance of Jinghai University.

At that moment, a beautiful young woman in casual clothes, with very fair skin and an exceedingly cold expression, slowly walked over.

Zhao Lei and the other two immediately stopped chatting, their tone turning serious.

"The captain's here."
