Red Fist Sect
Fufa District lay east of Jinghai City, over an hour away by car.
In the car, Su Han looked up information on the Red Fist Sect on his phone.
There wasn't much online. It only said that the sect was a Secret Martial Arts sect in Fufa District with a history of over a hundred years, and that its master was Xue Hongquan, a Baodan expert.
It had a little over two hundred disciples, making it a considerable force locally.
Its strongest was at Baodan, its elders were at Hua Jin, and its disciples ranged from Ming Jin to An Jin.
To ordinary people, it was a behemoth they couldn't afford to provoke.
But to the current Su Han...
He turned off his phone and looked out the window.
The car slowly entered Fufa District.
The Red Fist Sect wasn't in the city proper, but on a small hillside in the suburbs.
The car stopped at the foot of the hill. The driver didn't dare go any farther.
"Young man, that's the Red Fist Sect's territory up there. Ordinary people like us aren't allowed in."
"Thanks."
Su Han paid the fare and got out.
He looked up.
A complex of buildings stood on the hillside, with white walls, black roof tiles, and upturned eaves, like an ancient mountain estate.
He walked up the stone steps.
Halfway up the hill, he saw an archway bearing three large characters: "Red Fist Sect."
Two disciples stood guard beneath it.
When they saw Su Han approaching, one of them stepped forward.
"Stop! This is the Red Fist Sect's grounds. No outsiders allowed."
Su Han glanced at him and said, "I'm looking for Xue Hongquan."
"You think you can address the sect master by name?" The disciple's face darkened.
"Get lost, or don't blame me for getting rough."
Su Han ignored him and continued up the hill.
"Courting death."
Enraged, the disciple threw a punch, the wind whistling in its wake.
But Su Han casually waved a hand.
The disciple's fist shattered as easily as tofu under Su Han's blow, bursting into a spray of bloody mist.
"How dare you!"
The other disciple charged over with an angry shout.
But Su Han paid him no mind.
His figure flashed, leaving an afterimage as he appeared behind the disciple.
Then he threw a punch!
Bloody mist exploded outward.
In mere moments, Su Han had dealt with both guards.
His gaze as calm as still water, he continued up the hill.
Inside the Red Fist Sect's main hall.
Four people sat around a tea table.
In the seat of honor sat a middle-aged man in his fifties, wearing a gray Tang suit and holding a teacup.
He was Xue Hongquan, master of the Red Fist Sect and a Baodan expert.
To his left sat two elderly men, both in their sixties, hale and hearty, with sharp eyes.
They were the Red Fist Sect's two elders, both at the peak of Hua Jin.
To his right sat an unfamiliar middle-aged man, around forty, with a burly build and muscles that stretched his clothes taut.
Merely sitting there, the man seemed like a beast lying in wait, giving off a frightening aura.
One look was enough to tell that he was a White Grade enhanced human.
He was a Secret Martial Arts retainer of the Kong Family and had originally been a Baodan grandmaster as well.
He had also known the master of the Hung Fist Sect for over ten years, and they could be considered good friends.
He took a sip of tea and asked,
"Brother Xue, have you made up your mind?"
"The Kong Family's terms are already very generous."
"As long as you agree, we'll give you a dose of White Grade enhancement serum right away, along with the corresponding cultivation resources."
Xue Hongquan put down his teacup and hesitated for a moment, but still declined.
"I appreciate your kindness, Brother Kong, but I'd still like to give the enhancement serum some more thought."
"What more is there to think about?" The burly middle-aged man frowned.
"Brother Xue, as you know, although Secret Martial Arts are weak in combat, the major families and factions all value them highly."
"Why? Because you have a foundation."
"Just take the enhancement serum, and your combat power will soar dozens of times over."
Xue Hongquan nodded, sighed, and explained,
"I understand that."
"But I'm only fifty-six this year. I'm not old enough to need enhancement serum to prolong my life."
"I want to keep training and see if I can take another step forward and break through to True Gang."
"Then I can use a higher-grade enhancement serum. That would truly be a fish leaping over the Dragon Gate, soaring into the sky."
The burly middle-aged man listened in silence for a moment, then finally nodded.
"All right. Everyone has their own ambitions; I won't force you."
"But Brother Xue, if you change your mind one day, contact me anytime."
"The Kong Family's doors will always be open to you."
"Thank you, Brother Kong." Xue Hongquan cupped his fists.
The atmosphere eased, and the two resumed their conversation.
As they chatted, the burly middle-aged man suddenly lowered his voice.
"Brother Xue, be careful lately. Those lunatics from the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult have been stirring up trouble everywhere."
"The Ten Thousand Immortals Cult?" Xue Hongquan's expression grew serious. "What have they done now?"
"I've heard they've been approaching Secret Martial Arts sects frequently, demanding they join them. If they refuse, they wipe the whole sect out," the burly middle-aged man said solemnly.
"Three or four Secret Martial Arts sects have already been wiped out."
"None of them were in Jinghai City, but they weren't far away. You need to be careful."
Xue Hongquan's expression immediately turned ugly.
He hesitated, then told the truth.
"To tell you the truth, someone from the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult did approach me a few days ago."
"What did they say?" The burly middle-aged man's gaze sharpened.
"They demanded that my entire Red Fist Sect join the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult and become one of their peripheral forces, but I refused."
"And then?"
"Then that person left without saying anything else."
Xue Hongquan sighed, some worry still on his face.
"But I can't help feeling this isn't over."
The burly middle-aged man pondered for a moment, then advised him again.
"Brother Xue, take my advice. If the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult comes again, don't try to take them on by yourself. Either contact our Kong Family or go straight to the police and get the Earth Condemnation Bureau. Those lunatics are not to be trifled with."
"I understand." Xue Hongquan nodded in agreement. "I'll be careful..."
But before he could finish, the hall doors were suddenly pushed open.
Someone walked in.
It was a young man in ordinary clothes, his gaze exceedingly cold.
All four people in the hall turned to look at him at once.
The two elders immediately stood up and shouted angrily:
"Who are you?!"
"Are you a newly admitted disciple? Don't you know the main hall is a restricted area? Get out."
Su Han ignored them.
He simply fixed his gaze on Xue Hongquan in the seat of honor and slowly walked over.
"You're Xue Hongquan, master of the Red Fist Sect?"
Xue Hongquan put down his teacup and frowned slightly.
"I am. What of it? Who are you?"
He sensed something was wrong and immediately stood up.
The young man was too composed, and his restrained aura was extremely terrifying.
The other three also stood up, and the atmosphere immediately became exceptionally tense.
The burly middle-aged man looked at Su Han, narrowed his eyes slightly, and quietly raised his right hand.
He wore a digital watch on his wrist.
With a light press, the watch immediately began scanning Su Han.
It was a combat data watch, capable of scanning a person's combat power level.
The numbers on its face began to jump.
1,000... 3,000... 5,000...
Finally, they settled at 13,000.
The burly middle-aged man's pupils contracted.
Thirteen thousand?
The standard combat power of a White Grade enhanced human was 10,000 to 30,000.
An enhanced human's muscles swelled abnormally, and their blood changed color. The signs were obvious.
The young man before him was clearly not an enhanced human.
Could he be a Secret Martial Arts powerhouse, a True Gang great grandmaster?
No, that can't be right either.
How could a True Gang great grandmaster be so young?
The burly middle-aged man was dumbfounded. He couldn't make sense of the young man before him at all.
