Background and History
Reincarnation and the Kong Household’s decline
Kong Wenxuan reincarnated with the Five-Colored Divine Light, the source of the Five Elements True Scripture and the sword, talisman-slip, and formation inheritances later cultivated by his household. His parents in this life were ordinary mortals who never initially awakened their bloodlines 317 581.
He grew up on Peacock Ridge, where the Kong Household lived under the Du Household’s authority. At the clan school, he studied the history of its former Ninth-Grade True Spirit status and subsequent decline. After awakening his bloodline, he registered his name and blood in the Kong Clan Genealogy and joined the other new cultivators in pledging to restore the lineage 1 2.
Registration in the Du Household’s outer register placed a Cuckoo True Spirit Star projection inside his Dantian. He discovered that it extracted Peacock Bloodline power, but the Five-Colored Divine Light secretly suppressed it. Fear that the Du Household might discover this drove his early efforts to increase his strength 2 3.
Demon-Suppressing Pass and the restored Peacock Star
Kong Wenxuan gained practical experience beyond Demon-Suppressing Pass under Kong Yushuo and other experienced relatives. Their disguises, reconnaissance, and careful travel arrangements taught him how dangerous the region was for inexperienced cultivators 14 15 16.
His Five Elements Divine Swords gave him killing power beyond the household’s traditional illusion techniques. After reaching Foundation Establishment, he defended the Peacock True Spirit Star against martial cultivators, a military chariot formation, and a sword cultivator, passing its trial 22 49 51.
During the conflict in Cuckoo County, he used the Peacock Star’s power to protect himself and Kong Changgeng from bloodline seizure, then attacked the Du Household’s Cuckoo Dao Soldiers. He also assisted endangered servant-cultivator families, helping establish the Kong Household’s reputation among potential followers 59 61 73 81.
Establishing Peacock County
Kong Wenxuan received and refined Peacock County’s magistrate seal through the Peacock True Spirit Star. Alongside Kong Changgeng, he reported the Demon Race’s involvement in Cuckoo County to the Bifang Commandery governor 99.
The household initially considered Flying Peak as a potential territory, depending on the outcome of the Ya Household’s campaign. During the subsequent territorial development, Kong Wenxuan generally remained in reserve, cultivating and dealing with enemies beyond the other clansmen’s abilities 129 173 180.
When a cuckoo Demon Race member ambushed him during the erection of a county boundary stele, he used its barrier to restrain and kill her. He later helped defend and develop the Peacock Secret Realm, controlling his swords over extreme distances through their Spiritual Consciousness and the Peacock True Spirit’s viewpoint 184 198 200.
Kong Changgeng continued handling much of the administration, but insisted that Kong Wenxuan preside over major formal matters as magistrate and the household’s public representative 213.
Demon stronghold investigation and Eighth-Grade advancement
The Bifang Commandery governor tasked Kong Wenxuan with locating a hidden Demon Race stronghold in the South Lake Mountains within ten years. Given a protective Bifang Jade Token, he searched the former Flying Peak site and pursued a Third-Tier black tiger in hopes of finding a lead 217 237.
After nearly three months of pursuit through more than ten beast dens, the tiger surrendered and began guiding him toward the Cuckoo Demon Race. During the campaign, he overcame coordinated demon-blood cultivators and killed the Gray Wolf and Red Fox opponents with his Lesser Five Elements Sword Formation 241 249.
After becoming the household’s first Purple Mansion cultivator, he fought alongside the lineage in the Peacock Star’s rank-advancement trial. They succeeded, but fewer than twenty Kong cultivators survived and all participating Peacock Dao Soldiers were lost 270 276.
The household’s later eleven-year expansion war proceeded without requiring him to fight. When Peacock County reached three thousand li across, he emerged to relocate boundary steles, grant ancestral territories to meritorious servant families, and help expand the Peacock Secret Realm 294 295.
Invasion wars and Golden Core cultivation
Kong Wenxuan defended the Peacock Secret Realm against True Martial World invaders and led reinforcements to Black Crane County. During the fighting, he reduced his own offensive pressure when necessary to protect the household’s limited numbers of disciples and Dao Soldiers 311 317 333.
Seeking the tempering needed for Golden Core formation, he fought in Qinggeng Commandery. His battle with an Azure Wolf sharpened his sword techniques but left him seriously injured when its Demon Core exploded. Ya Zhaoying killed the fleeing beast, and he subsequently completed further battlefield tempering before returning home 362 364 366 378.
After strengthening his bloodline with Blood-Nourishing Pills and balancing cultivation with rest and family life, he formed his Golden Core. His success made him the Kong Household’s first Golden Core True Person 382 383 385.
His later campaigns included breaking through demon formations, surviving a fog-bound ambush by Fourth-Tier enemies, and destroying an eighteen-enemy encirclement in the Mystic Crane Secret Realm. He also routed invaders in Huodou Commandery before returning to rescue the Kong Household in Bifang Commandery 394 414 464 499.
Heavenly Demon Grotto-Heaven and Nascent Soul
During the counterattack into the Heavenly Demon Grotto-Heaven, Kong Wenxuan fought the Seven-Colored Peacock Demon and captured it with Kong Yushuo’s assistance. Heavy casualties, damage to his swords, and his treatment as bait by higher-ranking cultivators strengthened his determination to reach Nascent Soul and secure Middle-Grade status for his lineage 544 553 560.
He later underwent the Nascent Soul tribulation and formed the Peacock Dharma Manifestation. In the subsequent rank-advancement trial, he survived a Fifth-Tier sword cultivator’s Body and Sword as One by meeting it with a Domain Divine Sword. Their attacks shattered together; he survived severely injured, and the Peacock Star rose to Sixth-Grade Upper-Class 579 580 581 595.
One reason for his rapid advancement of the household was to obtain another bloodline-awakening opportunity for his aging parents. They failed to awaken even in the Sixth-Grade ceremony. Having done everything he could, he finally accepted their mortality without regret 602.
Personality
Kong Wenxuan is cultivation-focused and ambitious. His personal goal is to ascend step by step, see the world along the way, and reach the highest peak. He readily leaves administration and social obligations to capable relatives so that he can concentrate on refining his swords 173 345 381 434.
His caution is practical rather than timid. Early experiences taught him that strength determines how households are treated, but he also avoids unnecessary exposure: during the Cuckoo County cleanup, he preferred following the stronger Ya Household rather than making his own small lineage the Demon Race’s primary target 26 81 232.
He is protective of his family and lineage without offering unlimited support to every subordinate household. He distinguishes between earning followers’ loyalty and becoming responsible for all their troubles. On major battlefields, however, he repeatedly sacrifices opportunities to advance or attack in order to save his own clansmen 74 313 333 529.
He dislikes networking and uncomfortable ceremonial exchanges, yet understands their political value. His concern for his parents is especially persistent: as they approached the mortal lifespan limit, he made a habit of visiting them before seclusion or battle 81 288 381 570.
Abilities and Skills
Five-Colored Divine Light
An inheritance that accompanied his reincarnation and supplied the foundation of his cultivation path 581.
- Suppressed the Cuckoo True Spirit Star projection’s extraction of his bloodline power 2 3.
- Transmitted the Five Elements True Scripture, divine-sword and talisman-slip refinement methods, and Five Elements Grand Formation 581.
- Intervened at critical moments, particularly against Demonic Nature Backlash 581.
- From Qi Refining through Golden Core, he could scarcely command it voluntarily and largely depended on its autonomous intervention 581.
Cultivation Through Sword Refinement
The Five Elements True Scripture allows him to refine Qi by refining his bloodline-derived divine swords 3 26.
- Corresponding elemental materials strengthen the swords while their refined Spiritual Qi and spirituality nourish his body, bloodline, Spiritual Consciousness, and Law Power 348.
- His five elemental feathers permit a complete set of divine swords, unlike relatives limited to one or two elements 163 210.
- Pseudo-Innate environments and specialized grand-array formation eyes greatly accelerate refinement 456 512.
- Progress depends on obtaining suitable high-tier materials; much of Peacock County’s lower-tier wealth eventually becomes insufficient for his personal cultivation 294.
Five Elements Sword Arts
Each divine sword embodies a distinct sword art 40.
| Sword | Principal sword art | Documented application |
|---|---|---|
| Azure Wood Divine Sword | Sword Light Differentiation | Produces numerous independent sword lights; reached 360 azure sword lights at Late Purple Mansion 358. |
| Black Water Divine Sword | Sword Momentum Like the Tide | Unleashes surging sword momentum as part of his individual and formation-based attacks 40 330. |
| Crimson Fire Divine Sword | Sword Qi Thunderclap | Supports rapid attacks; after observing Kong Yushuo’s method, Wenxuan could strike over a hundred times in an instant 121. |
| White Metal Divine Sword | Refining the Sword into Threads | Forms sharp, flexible sword threads. Its Third-Tier form cut through Third-Tier divine weapons and armor 110 346. |
| Yellow Earth Divine Sword | Heavy Sword Has No Edge; Great Skill Appears Unrefined | Supplies the heavy-sword component of his five-element sword arts and serves his defensive priorities 40 179 281. |
Sword Formations and Domains
His formations combine the five swords into sustained offense and defense.
- Lesser Five Elements Sword Formation: Incorporates mutually generating elemental sword lights and peacock illusions. It can trap enemies, clear contaminating Flesh and Blood Sludge, and grind down opponents through successive attacks 51 121 249.
- Great Five Elements Sword Formation: Becomes a principal Purple Mansion battle method, combining his sword arts and producing Great Five Elements Destruction Sword Light 269 330.
- Great Five Elements Destruction Sword Light: Can eventually leave the formation and return to it. It also carries different sword-art effects, though these were initially weaker than using the corresponding swords individually 355 358.
- Pseudo-Great Five Elements Primordial Magnetism Sword Array: Overwhelmed Fourth-Tier and lower enemies during his assaults in Zhuyan and Huodou commanderies 498 499.
- Sword-Light Five Elements Heaven and Earth: Used to engulf and suppress the Fourth-Tier Seven-Colored Peacock Demon 544.
- Sword Formation Domain and Domain Divine Sword: Nascent Soul methods used against the Fifth-Tier trial sword cultivator; condensing the domain into a sword enabled direct clashes with Body and Sword as One 595.
Formation use consumes substantial bloodline and cultivation power. During the marsh campaign, he needed pauses and pills between sweeping attacks to restore his strength 330.
Advanced Sword Techniques
- Insert the Edgeless into the Gaps: Exploits flaws in attacks and defenses. Battlefield tempering improved the speed and precision with which he located those openings 364 378.
- One Sword Gives Rise to Ten Thousand Laws: Channels the power of heaven and earth through his swords. Third-Tier swords could bear only brief bursts and risked warping or cracking under prolonged use 420 444.
- Sword-light fire sea: After the Crimson Fire Divine Sword reached Fourth-Tier Law Treasure rank, he could independently use it to create a sea of sword-light fire without an external fire array 471.
Illusions and True Spirit Power
- Uses the Soul-Bewitching Illusion Technique to daze Demon Beasts and interrupt intelligent opponents at decisive moments 464 544 558.
- Draws on the Peacock True Spirit Star for protection, battlefield support, recovery, and remote observation 51 59 200 579.
- Grants Five-Colored Starlight baptisms that slightly improve recipients’ bloodlines and Law Power 295.
- Illusions are not universally reliable: military formations and some martial cultivators resisted them during star trials 51 276.
Nascent Soul and Spatial Abilities
- Peacock Dharma Manifestation: Formed from the Peacock Bloodline during his Nascent Soul advancement; fights alongside him and can combine with his domains 580 595.
- Five Elements Evasion: A naturally available Divine Ability associated with his five-element cultivation at Nascent Soul 582.
- Short-range teleportation: Both Wenxuan and his Dharma Manifestation can traverse space over short distances 582.
Equipment and Items

- Bifang Commandery governor — Superior who granted his county seal, assigned the Demon Race stronghold investigation, and supplied protective support 99 217.

- Third-Tier black tiger — Pursued and subdued during the stronghold investigation. Wenxuan later gave it to the lineage, where it aided Kong Changgeng in territorial expansion 241 286 301.

Trivia
- He has no talent for music or the Peacock Dance; during a household celebration, he could only clap along and cheer 102.
- He awakened at fifteen, spent eight years at Qi Refining and twenty at Foundation Establishment, and was nearly fifty after six years at Purple Mansion 288.
- His early strength had a serious limitation: Spiritual Consciousness suppression could scatter his awareness and leave him unable to command even his powerful divine swords 30.
- At the Sixth-Grade bloodline awakening ceremony, nearly one hundred thousand clansmen participated—an indication of how far the household had grown during the century of his rise 602.
