Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Original Ninth-Grade True Spirit Lineage 2 518 Kong Jianling completed Star Inlaying with the Azure Luan Luan Household’s support. The household gained a Peacock True Spirit Star and ruled a county spanning a thousand li.
Loss of True Spirit status 2 518 Its attempted advancement to the Eighth Grade failed, and the original Peacock True Spirit Star fell. The third-generation patriarch also failed his Purple Mansion breakthrough, became a Demon Beast, and nearly exterminated the household’s cultivators. Its fall was also tied to defeat in a struggle involving its allegiance to the Luan Household.
Restored Ninth-Grade True Spirit Lineage 67 Kong Wenxuan completed Star Inlaying and imprinted the Five Elements True Scripture on the Peacock True Spirit Star, establishing a new cultivation inheritance for its descendants.
Eighth-Grade True Spirit Lineage 273 During the Rank Advancement Trial, the household defeated waves of demons. Kong Wenxuan killed a Third-Tier Peacock demon, and the star absorbed its stardust before ascending into Eighth-Grade True Spirit Heaven.
Seventh-Grade True Spirit Lineage 396 400 The Peacock True Spirit Star ascended into Seventh-Grade True Spirit Heaven, and the household completed the remaining Rank Advancement Trials against successive invading forces.
Sixth-Grade True Spirit Lineage, upper Sixth Grade 584 596 Kong Wenxuan’s Fifth-Tier Nascent Soul power initiated the ascent. The household narrowly completed all the trials, entering the Middle-Grade ranks; Wenxuan was promoted to Peacock Commandery Governor.

History

Founding, Collapse, and Migration

Kong Jianling established the household’s first recorded True Spirit lineage. Over the Jian, Dao, Dun, An, Ding, and Mao generations, it grew to nearly one thousand Qi Refinement cultivators and thirteen Foundation Establishment cultivators. Its genealogy contains no record of the lineage before Jianling 2.

The failed Eighth-Grade advancement and the third-generation patriarch’s demonization destroyed that prosperity. The Xiu, Zhao, and Yi generations wandered from the Central Region to the Southern Region’s Vermilion Bird Domain. In the tenth generation, Kong Changgeng secured the Du Household’s protection and settled the survivors on Peacock Ridge 2.

As a servant-cultivator lineage, the household registered newly awakened cultivators under the Du Household’s outer register. This required worshipping the Cuckoo True Spirit Star. Kong Wenxuan discovered that its projection drained his Peacock Bloodline, although his Five-Colored Divine Light secretly suppressed the effect 2.

Conflict with the Gray Wolf Lang Household

The Kong Household inflicted severe losses on Lang cultivators and their wolf demons with a Second-Tier illusion formation, beginning a blood feud. Its success earned it an independent direction of attack during the subsequent siege of Wolf Fang Mountain 28 29.

When the Lang Household’s formation demon threatened the siege, Kong Yushuo negotiated recognition as a fifth organizer in exchange for restraining it. The agreement promised the Kongs one-fifth of the treasury and resources, alongside a share of the dark iron vein. After the Lang survivors escaped with their treasury, other participants tried to revoke the Kong share before the confrontation subsided 31 36 37.

Restoration and the First Peacock County

After Star Inlaying restored the household’s True Spirit status, the Peacock True Spirit Star helped it survive the beast tide that overran Cuckoo County. Kong Wenxuan and Kong Changgeng returned in time to prevent major losses at Peacock Ridge, then assisted their servant lineages 67 73 74.

The household chose to remain in the Southern Region rather than return to its ancestral homeland. Kong Wenxuan received the Peacock County Magistrate’s Official Seal, but the appointment provided no existing county: the household had to conquer, develop, and defend its territory itself 99 100.

Its expansion war began with the Yan, Ma, and Yun Households supplying their principal fighting forces. Ya Zhaoying helped secure the chosen base near Crescent Moon Lake. More than ten Kong cultivators died during the first two-plus years, including Kong Yutang and Kong Wenyuan 166 178.

Establishing the county also required opening the Peacock Secret Realm. By the end of the undertaking, the household controlled a thousand-li county, possessed a three-hundred-li secret realm, and had relocated its members and enterprises from Peacock Ridge 196 211 220.

Eighth- and Seventh-Grade Expansion

The Eighth-Grade advancement attracted many prospective servant lineages. Applicants had to participate in an eleven-year expansion war and earn sufficient merit to exchange for ancestral territory. Of nearly one hundred applicant lineages, more than sixty were accepted; others withdrew or failed to earn enough merit 284 294 295.

Peacock County expanded to three thousand li across. Distributing ancestral land deeds placed servant lineages throughout the new territory, strengthening control against returning Demon Beasts 297.

After reaching the Seventh Grade, the household drew congratulatory delegations from neighboring commanderies and began its third expansion war. Five years of development brought its Foundation Establishment cultivators close to three hundred and its Purple Mansion cultivators to twelve 403 419.

Invasions and the Heavenly Demon Counteroffensive

The household fought True Martial World invaders inside the Peacock Secret Realm and later answered Bifang Commandery’s call to defend Black Crane County. The latter campaign cost it four Foundation Establishment cultivators and fifty-three Qi Refinement disciples 305 320 345.

A later defense of the Peacock True Spirit Star nearly ended in disaster. Kong Wenxuan broke two divine swords, while Kong Changgeng detonated his Fourth-Tier Golden-Horned Rhinoceros companion to stop the most dangerous attack. Nearly three hundred Qi Refinement disciples died over three months of fighting, and the Yan, Ma, and Yun contingents suffered still heavier proportional losses 447.

At the imperial Grand Court Assembly, the household ranked ninth in military merit among Seventh-Grade True Spirit Lineages. It subsequently joined the counteroffensive into the Heavenly Demon Grotto-Heaven, fighting at Spirit Taming Pass and claiming resource sites and mineral veins within the conquered territory 516 538 553 566.

Entry into the Middle Grades

The household devoted substantial wealth to talismans and Law Treasures for Kong Wenxuan’s Nascent Soul tribulation. Logistics personnel volunteered for frontline rotations so experienced fighters could return to guard him 575 579.

His successful breakthrough enabled the Sixth-Grade advancement attempt. The household narrowly passed the full trial sequence with fewer than one in ten surviving within the trial, raising its star to the upper Sixth Grade. The account distinguishes this trial endurance from what its army could sustain in an actual battle 581 584 596.

Its younger cultivators then won more than they lost against established Sixth-Grade lineages. These results secured trade, resource, and territorial interests, but also exposed a shortage of cultivators capable of operating and defending the household’s expanded holdings 598 600 601.

  • Vocational instruction: The Scripture Hall teaches spirit planting, brewing, talisman-paper production, and feather-based artifact refining 3.
  • Contribution points: Members earn points through productive work and exchange them for Spirit Stones, resources, inherited arts, and other supplies 3.
  • Rotating assignments: After the True Martial invasion, disciples rotate between county defense, secret-realm improvements, and cultivation on Ancestral Spirit Mountain Peak 314.

Servant and Subordinate Lineages

  • Early followers: The Swift Yan, Sparrow Ma, and Lark Yun Households joined before Peacock County’s founding and earned preferential support and ancestral lands through the pioneering war 103 216.
  • Initial six-household network: By the relocation, the Yan, Ma, Yun, Xiong, Quan, and Diao Households paid taxes and performed labor service under the Kongs 220.
  • Merit-based admission: Later applicants had to earn territory through expansion-war service. Avian, beast, and aquatic scaled-creature bloodlines were all eligible 294 295.
  • Closer bloodline binding: The Swift Yan Household voluntarily accepted the Peacock True Spirit Star’s projection imprint. The arrangement bound it more closely to the Kongs and immediately helped two Yan cultivators reach Foundation Establishment 423.
  • Compensation obligations: The household rewards military contributions and compensates subordinate families for battlefield losses to maintain their willingness to serve 343.

Abilities and Military Methods

Five Elements True Scripture

The household’s primary cultivation art derives from Kong Wenxuan’s Five-Colored Divine Light and was imprinted on the restored Peacock True Spirit Star 67 581.

  • Sword path: Cultivators refine Five Elements Divine Swords through their Bloodline Divine Abilities 182 210.
  • Talisman-slip path: Cultivators refine Five Elements Talisman Slips to wield corresponding elemental techniques 182 210.
  • Specialization: Most members awaken only one or two elemental Peacock Feathers, unlike Wenxuan’s complete five-element bloodline 182 210.
  • Cultivation through refinement: Improving swords or talisman slips with matching spirit materials also raises cultivation 210.
  • Limit: The swords’ inherited techniques make it harder for disciples to develop substantially different sword-path methods 420.

Peacock Soul-Bewitching Scripture

Kong Jianling’s inherited scripture was originally the household’s usual bloodline inheritance. It became a secondary art after the adoption of the Five Elements True Scripture 5 396.

  • Traps enemies in illusions, allowing sword cultivators and spell cultivators to attack them 182 273.
  • Supports formation techniques such as Peacock Spreads Its Tail, which helped establish the household’s early military reputation 28.
  • Does not guarantee resistance to stronger illusion users: a Third-Tier Peacock demon incapacitated the trial force until Wenxuan awakened them 273.

Battle Formations

  • Peacock True Spirit Battle Formations: Combine disciples’ strength into manifested peacock forms 305 527.
  • Lesser Five Elements Sword Formations: Coordinate elemental swords; Qi Refinement disciples initially lack the Spiritual Consciousness needed to master this formation 182.
  • Five Elements Talisman Formations: Combine talisman-slip cultivators’ elemental techniques into large-scale attacks 527.
  • Combined barrages: Later forces deploy Ten Thousand Swords Fired in Unison followed by a Law Technique Torrent, including attacks launched from equipped boats 527 528.
  • Support forces: Peacock Dao Soldiers and controlled Demon Beasts supplement household cultivators and servant-lineage contingents 301 305 438.

Peacock True Spirit Star

  • Suppresses hostile Demon Race forces and strengthens the household’s defensive capabilities 73 90.
  • Feeds improvements back into descendants’ Peacock Bloodlines, Divine Abilities, and bodies 314.
  • Provides Five-Colored Starlight that restores Law Power and Spiritual Consciousness during prolonged combat; its effect is weaker on servant-lineage cultivators 447.
  • Can grant a starlight baptism that slightly improves affiliated cultivators’ bloodlines and Law Power 295.

Equipment and Assets

  • Crimson Plume Feather Fan — The last surviving Bloodline-Inherited Spirit Artifact during the Wolf Fang Mountain campaign, wielded by Kong Yushuo. Such artifacts helped the household fight its way out of danger during its migration 31.
  • Blue and Green Plume Feather Fans — Two additional Bloodline-Inherited Spirit Artifacts possessed before the original decline 31.
  • Second-Tier Peacock Feather Boat — An important means of escape during the household’s wandering; remained its sole Feather Boat at the county’s early administrative stage 31 220.
  • Peacock Flying Boats and Treasure Boats — Later vessels carry both sword and talisman formations; one Third-Tier Treasure Boat was destroyed at Spirit Taming Pass 527 538.
  • Defensive Treasure Artifacts — By its Eighth-Grade period, every Foundation Establishment cultivator had at least one Third-Tier defensive Treasure Artifact 300.
  • Fallen star stone — Preserved beside Kong Jianling’s ancestral tablet as proof of the household’s original True Spirit status 2.
