Origins and History

Primordial and Frost Cloud Origins

The Human Race’s ultimate ancestry lies in the Primordial Land, where its ancestors evolved from the Demon Race. The cultivation system developed over subsequent ages, eventually encompassing immortals, inner worlds, and three thousand Great Daos 571.

The humans of the Frost Cloud Realm descend from a separate migration. After a powerful immortal died, the immortal’s nurtured world became masterless. An ancestor of Venerable Mieyang and several companions knew its coordinates and brought their families inside, becoming the realm’s first humans. At that time, Ice and Snow Dao Principles dominated the entire world 429.

Rise in the Northern Nether Domain

Humanity initially concealed its strength before expanding from the Eastern Wasteland, identified as its birthplace within the Northern Nether Domain 246 350.

Period Event
About 40,000 years earlier Humans destroyed the Eastern Barbarian Demon Race and unified the eastern continent, later naming it the Eastern Wasteland 246.
About 35,000 years earlier Venerable Mieyang’s emergence enabled expansion toward the Central Lands, Southern Marsh, Northern Continent, and Western Desert 246.
About 30,000 years earlier An alliance with the Scale and Beast races defeated the Ice and Snow Demon Race. Its Venerable died, and humans took the heartland subsequently called the Central Lands 246.
After the northern retreat The Scale and Beast races settled north of the Central Lands. Their territory developed into the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains, forming a barrier against renewed demon expansion 246.
About 20,000 years earlier onward Humans destroyed the Desolate Scorpion Race, unified the Western Desert, and took the Southern Marsh after the decline of its Feather Race. Great teleportation infrastructure supported further northern campaigns 246.
About 15,000 years earlier The Ice and Snow Demon Race was driven into the bitterly cold northern lands, whose conditions discouraged further human settlement 246.
About 10,000 years earlier A third great human–demon war began. After roughly a thousand years of fighting, the demons declined, the northern nations emerged, and a long peace followed 246.

Northern Collapse and Recovery

The fall of Northern Nether Pass destroyed the northern humans’ connection to the Central Lands and ushered in widespread conquest, beast tides, and enslavement. Qin Lu suspected that a human Spirit Transformation figure’s death and subsequent internal disorder explained the demons’ opportunity, but this remained his deduction 246.

By the time Qin Lu examined Zha Delei’s memories, demon races controlled two-thirds of the Northern Continent. The remaining human resistance held Ten Thousand Soldiers Immortal City under True Lord Poyuan. In Basikadun, Zha Delei had kept more than ten million humans alive as slaves and servants, alongside numerous half-demons 329.

Great Qin’s intervention reversed the military balance, killing more than twenty Demon Kings while Qian Guming held three Demon Emperors occupied. Following the Frost Ancestor’s death, Qin Lu, Gu Xuanzhen, and Qian Guming agreed that Great Qin would control the Northern Continent and share its resource profits with the Longlife Ancient Kingdom 387 399.

Expansion Across the Heavens

The Qin Humans’ rise drew the wider Human Race into the struggle surrounding the Vast Spirit Star Domain. Human leaders chose to support Qin Lu’s faction while using the conflict to renew their own race’s position 648.

The resulting settlements gave humanity new worlds and a share of the Ghost Xiao Clan’s Great Dao authority. Later accounts credit this period with expansion into dozens of star domains and the destruction of several hostile races and more than thirty True Immortals 664 714.

In Great Qin year 6000, the six Dao Ancestors met to plan the next several thousand to tens of thousands of years. Their stated ambition extended beyond maintaining the existing order: they hoped humanity could produce a True God and establish a new heaven of its own 716.

Soul Dao Contest and Later Relations

Humanity backed Emperor Nether as a contender for Soul Dao authority while also cultivating other assets. Its leaders knowingly supported and monitored Ye Ming, Mad Immortal’s reincarnation, intending to exploit his development rather than trust him 675 717.

Qin Lu eventually recognized that his role in the ten-thousand-year wager with the Samsara Underworld served the Human Race’s collective interests. He doubted that its leaders genuinely favored him as an individual, given his independence, killings, and consumption of his own kin 743.

After Qin Lu became a Dao Ancestor, the Qin Humans and the wider Human Race maintained normal relations but largely disentangled their interests. Tens of thousands of years later, the Qin Humans possessed three Dao Ancestors, becoming powerful enough that even the Human Race regarded them with apprehension 750.

Racial Traits

Balanced Constitution

  • Few major weaknesses: Humanity lacks an overwhelmingly dominant innate specialty, but its balance leaves it without the severe shortcomings found in some other races 589.
  • Innovation: Human inventiveness is explicitly distinguished from the Demon Race’s inherited bloodline advantages 567.
  • Variable aptitude: Unlike the Qin Humans, ordinary humanity includes people without cultivation talent. The Qin branch’s universal aptitude is a bloodline-derived distinction, not a general human trait 606 718.
  • No equivalent progenitor-wide bloodline uplift: Qin Lu’s ability to strengthen his descendants through his own advancement comes from incorporated demon bloodline power, not an ordinary human racial ability 567.

Aptitude and Innate Spirit Physiques

Cultivation aptitude reflects compatibility with heaven and earth. The amount of Innate Primordial Qi retained after birth determines spiritual radiance and aptitude; complete retention produces an Innate Spirit Physique 205.

  • Children with strong aptitude commonly develop intelligence earlier than ordinary mortal children 205.
  • Innate Spirit Physiques are rare and individually distinctive, even when two bearers possess nominally similar physiques 348.
  • These physiques provide exceptional assistance toward Spirit Transformation, but do not guarantee immortality without sufficient resources and foundations 558 654.

Lifespan

Cultivation / Condition Ordinary Human Lifespan
Mortal No more than about 100 years 606.
True Martial Around 120 years 606.
Dao Foundation Up to about 300 years 6.
Golden Core At least 600 years 6.
Nascent Soul Normally about 3,000–4,000 years 718.
Spirit Transformation Usually about 10,000–12,000 years 606.

Organization and Leadership

Public Dao Ancestors

At the time Qin Lu entered humanity’s territory, six of the Divine Court’s thirty-three Dao Ancestors came from the Human Race. Three were pure-blooded humans, while three had modified their bloodlines 620.

Dao Position and Relationship
Law One of humanity’s three comparatively stronger publicly controlled Daos 630.
Weapons One of the stronger three; the Sword Dao derives from it 630.
Refining One of the stronger three; the Puppet Dao branches from it. Its Dao Ancestor pioneered humanity’s authority-storage Secret Method 630 704.
Sword A derivative of the Weapons Dao 630.
Dust Evolved from the Earth Dao 630.
Puppet A branch of the Dao of Refining 630.

The six are the publicly visible leadership, not necessarily the full extent of humanity’s reserves. The narrative raises the possibility of concealed human Dao Ancestors, and Ancestor Mu later supports revealing hidden ancestors if necessary to improve humanity’s chances in the Soul Ancestor contest 648 675.

Daluo Leadership

  • Progenitor Ye — Daluo of Withering and Flourishing; assumes full authority over current affairs and leads the increasingly influential Ye Clan 717.
  • Cold Venerable — Ice Dao Daluo; humanity gathers Ice Dao authority to strengthen his foundations before he withdraws from public view 704 717.
  • Ancestor Mu — Poison Dao Daluo; negotiates territorial gains and protection for the Qin Humans, then withdraws from public leadership 664 717.
  • Spear, Dissolution, and Star Dao Daluos — Follow Progenitor Ye in the leadership arrangement 717.

Internal Politics

Long security under six Dao Ancestors weakened humanity’s earlier fighting spirit and fostered deep internal corruption. Ye Qingzhu acknowledges this criticism, and many human True Immortals leave the race’s territory to seek greater independence in the starry sea 635 636.

That corruption does not make the leadership uniformly hostile to rising branches. Ancestor Mu explicitly rejects suppressing the Qin Humans merely for growing stronger, reasoning that their advancement strengthens the Human Race as a whole 664.

Abilities and Skills

Dao Cultivation

Cultivation of the Dao is identified as a human inheritance, in contrast to the Demon Race’s reliance on bloodlines to bear Great Dao power 567.

  • Nascent Soul Dao Marks: After reforging their bodies, human cultivators can integrate their accumulated learning into unique Dao Marks, producing Innate Divine Abilities 394.
  • Multiple Dao foundations: Cultivating more Dao laws can yield more Dao Marks, methods, and stronger foundations, although it places greater demands on time and talent 484.
  • Cross-racial adaptation: Qin Lu considers adapting the Frost Spirit Demon Race’s Ninefold Essence Tempering because its humanoid meridian structure broadly resembles humanity’s; its suitability still requires testing and improvement 247.

Resource Cultivation and Craftsmanship

Humans excel at cultivation, gathering, and management, distributing limited resources among more people. Alchemy, artifact refining, and brewing allow lower-tier materials to produce greater effects 684.

  • Managed development: Human methods emphasize sustained production and resource use rather than relying solely on battles for opportunities 684.
  • Authority storage: A Secret Method created by the Dao Ancestor of Refining stores Great Dao authority in immortal artifacts. Other races cannot simply reproduce it 704.
  • Indirect patronage: Through the Ye Clan, humanity channels talent and resources into allied territory through trade, supporting growth without straightforward handouts 676.

Notable Equipment

  • Demon-Suppressing Pagoda — Prepared for the operation against the Void Soul Spirit Race. It suppresses captured souls and prevents escape or revival 706.
  • Authority-storage immortal artifacts — Preserve captured Great Dao authority for later distribution or use, based on humanity’s exclusive refining Secret Method 704.

Relationships

  • Qin Humans Race — A transformed human branch officially named in Great Qin year 1800. Humanity courts, protects, and invests in it, while also using Qin Lu’s strength and fortune for wider racial objectives. Qin Lu’s obligation to repay an aggregate 30% authority becomes a major source of leverage 606 630 667 705.
  • Withering and Flourishing Ye Clan — A major internal faction linking humanity’s leadership to the Qin Humans. Its members coordinate indirect support, and Progenitor Ye secretly orchestrates the Ancient Wood Ye Clan’s separation to strengthen ties with Qin Lu’s alliance 676 717.
  • Samsara Underworld — Both negotiating counterpart and Soul Dao rival. The factions divide Ghost Xiao authority but also compete over Soul cultivators and the future Soul Ancestor position 648 664 743.
  • Divine Court — Includes six human Dao Ancestors among its thirty-three at the stated benchmark. Humanity’s later ambitions extend toward changing the order it maintains 620 716.
  • Eternal Paradise — Considered a possible future backer, though humanity has not fully committed and continues weighing its options 716.
  • Ice and Snow Demon Race — Humanity’s long-standing opponent in the Northern Nether Domain, defeated in ancient wars but later responsible for the northern human collapse 246.
  • Scale and Beast races — Historical allies against the Ice and Snow Demon Race; their settlement north of the Central Lands helped create a defensive barrier 246.
  • Predatory races — Pure-blooded humans are widely coveted as food and cultivation resources. The Cold Beast Clan considers the Frost Cloud Realm’s human population a valuable prize, illustrating the danger faced by isolated human populations despite the wider race’s strength 582.

Notable Quotes
