Background / History

Qian Xunling is a transmigrator born into the Qian family as Qian Daoliu’s second son and Qian Xunji’s younger brother. He retains knowledge of the original story, including Bibi Dong’s future role and relationships, and uses that knowledge to assess the people around him 1 33 37 38.

His mother died giving birth to him. Golden Crocodile connects Qian Daoliu’s harsh treatment of Xunling to that loss and criticizes him for restricting the boy’s freedom. After Xunling displayed exceptional talent, his father forbade him from leaving Spirit City and raised him as a prospective Angel God successor 6.

Xunling grew closer to Spirit Hall’s offerings than to his father. After seriously injuring Xunji in a confrontation and enduring another clash with Daoliu, he left Spirit City with the young Bibi Dong, beginning his first journey outside the city 4 5 6 67.

Qian Xunling is irreverent, provocative, and openly confident in his talent. He mocks powerful Soul Masters, insults deities, and repeatedly challenges his father and elder brother. His confidence is backed by unusual combat strength, though Tang Chen’s overwhelming power forces him to confront the limits of his early success 4 5 28 30.

He enjoys pranks and intimidation. His schemes include frightening Bibi Dong with a proposal to sell her and retrieve her afterward, using Xiao Wu to scare Sea God Island’s guards, and planting a dust-filled explosive doll modeled after his father 7 55 64.

His affection often appears beneath insults and transactional demands. He protects Bibi Dong, comforts her after dangerous encounters, and saves valuable Soul Bones for her, but also deliberately makes her anxious about punishment or repayment. Her pleas repeatedly restrain his willingness to kill 2 5 25 32 45 106.

His concern for ordinary people coexists with considerable brutality. He treats injured commoner Soul Masters and later opens Spirit Hall’s services to civilians, yet tortures captives and initially orders the extermination of Clear Sky Castle’s disciples.
