Background / History

Previous Life

Qian Xunji regarded himself as Spirit Hall’s weakest Pope. His talent fell far short of Qian Daoliu’s, his Innate Soul Power was the lowest among Six-Winged Angel inheritors, and he never qualified to begin the Angel God Trial. These limitations drove him to seek godhood for Spirit Hall through others 46.

His plan centered on Bibi Dong and their future daughter, Qian Renxue. After Bibi Dong became a Soul Saint, he arranged for her to witness Yu Xiaogang’s relationship with Liu Erlong, then imprisoned and violated her. The narrative presents his aim as deliberately creating both an exceptional Angel descendant and the despair needed for Bibi Dong to receive the Rakshasa inheritance. Bibi Dong’s divine potential compensated for deficiencies in his own bloodline 46 55.

Qian Renxue eventually awakened the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul with Innate Level 20 Soul Power. Later, after Tang Hao gravely wounded Qian Xunji, Bibi Dong tore him apart and devoured him. He welcomed his death as the final step in his scheme to produce two gods within Spirit Hall 46.

A remnant of his true spirit survived and witnessed the divine battle at Jialing Pass through Bibi Dong. His apparent success collapsed when Tang San returned from death and acquired a second godhood: Qian Renxue’s Angel Godhood shattered, Bibi Dong died, and Spirit Hall fell 46 51.

Rebirth and Gu Yue’s Offer

After rebirth, Qian Xunji searched Spirit Hall’s hidden records for a way to avert its destruction. Gu Yue confronted him before the Angel God Statue, identified his rebirth, and revealed that the Angel God had fallen. By exposing Sea God power woven into the Angel inheritance grounds, Gu Yue destroyed his remaining confidence in divine protection 46 47 48.

Qian Xunji offered his life, soul, and Spirit Hall’s future loyalty in exchange for salvation. Gu Yue directed him to inherit the Rakshasa Godhood and promised to preserve the Six-Winged Angel bloodline even if Spirit Hall fell. Their arrangement also placed a restriction in his Sea of Consciousness through which Gu Yue could destroy his divine soul 47 48.

Rakshasa Inheritance and Patricide

Using his knowledge of the inheritance site from his previous life, Qian Xunji entered Slaughter City and approached the Rakshasa secret realm. His newly acquired Ultimate Darkness attracted the Rakshasa God’s attention. He resisted her mental corruption, cursed the Angel God, and received the Rakshasa Nine Trials 49.

The First Trial targeted Qian Daoliu, the only other person then possessing the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul. Qian Xunji demanded that his father sacrifice himself for his son’s ascension. Their battle outside Spirit City exposed the gulf between Level 95 and Level 99: Qian Daoliu defeated him repeatedly, even after the Rakshasa God lent him divine power and a divine weapon 49 50.

Satisfied by his genuine determination to kill his father, the Rakshasa God descended through a wisp of Divine Sense and immobilized Qian Daoliu. Qian Xunji pierced his father’s chest and devoured him, then used his increased power and status as a divine heir to threaten the opposing enshrined into submission 51.

Appearance

  • Papal attire: Wears a dazzling golden robe, a purple-gold crown, and carries a jeweled scepter at the theory competition’s opening ceremony 121.
  • Transformed Martial Soul: Manifests six ink-black wings surrounded by Ultimate Darkness, replacing his earlier golden Angel manifestation 46 49.
  • Divine trial mark: Bears a Rakshasa God Trial Mark at the center of his forehead 51.

Personality

Qian Xunji places Spirit Hall’s survival and the continuation of the Angel bloodline above personal dignity, reputation, and family bonds. In his previous life, he accepted infamy and death to create two divine inheritors; after rebirth, he willingly submits to Gu Yue when offered his only apparent route to survival 46 47 48.

His devotion is inseparable from extreme ruthlessness. He treats Bibi Dong’s suffering and Qian Daoliu’s life as resources for his plans. After experiencing divine power, his ambition expands beyond preserving a remnant of his bloodline to securing Spirit Hall’s permanent dominance—even against the gods 46 50 51.

He is also a patient actor who exploits vanity, affection, and fear. His public warmth toward Yu Xiaogang masks contempt, while his apparent concern for Bibi Dong repeatedly serves to control her. Despite his willingness to take extreme risks, he remains cautious about confronting powers backed by gods, preferring to turn enemies against one another 53 59 61 68 77.

Abilities & Skills

Dark Angel and Ultimate Darkness

Gu Yue’s intervention changes his Angel power into an attribute suited to bearing the Rakshasa Godhood 48 49.

  • Manifests six black wings and uses the Dark Angel Martial Soul Avatar 49 50.
  • Conjures dark weapons, including a halberd and sword 50.
  • Remains vulnerable to stronger opponents: Qian Daoliu breaks through his defenses and shatters his conjured sword 50.

Illusion Techniques

Qian Xunji used illusions to manipulate Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang in his previous life. His mastery improves substantially after gaining Ultimate Darkness 53 59 89.

  • Uses illusion techniques as part of his interrogation of the captured Sea Soul Master who supplies the alliance with intelligence 89.
  • Can manipulate targets without relying on illusions; honors and carefully staged praise are enough to turn Yu Xiaogang against Bibi Dong 59.

Spiritual Perception

  • Extends his spiritual power into Spirit Hall’s library to observe Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang 53.
  • Detects inconsistencies in their behavior and knowledge, eventually recognizing both as fellow reincarnators 53 54.
  • Scans his surroundings during Soul Beast hunts, noticing that an unusual Lone Bamboo appeared where his earlier scan had found nothing 69.

Rakshasa Divine Assistance

As the Rakshasa God’s heir, Qian Xunji can receive power and weapons from her, but this does not make him a god 50 51.

  • Borrows Rakshasa Divine Power and the Rakshasa Demon Scythe against Qian Daoliu 50.
  • Serves as a medium for the goddess’s Divine Sense; her intervention, rather than his own strength, immobilizes his father 51.
  • Deliberately spreads negative emotions and engineers conflict to support his Rakshasa trials and strengthen himself 56 76.

Combat and Political Strategy

  • Repels two Titled Douluo and strikes away a Soul Douluo during the Sea God Island campaign 92.
  • Blocks Bo Saixi’s attack on the flying pig, although the resulting shockwave scatters its passengers 105.
  • Builds coalitions through promises of wealth and godhood while concealing his personal motives 76 77.
  • During the renewed expedition, the alliance regards him as its second-strongest fighter after Tang Chen 100.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Fangtian Hua Ji — A massive black halberd conjured from darkness; used against Qian Daoliu and during the Sea God Island campaign 50 51 92.
  • Frostmourne — A conjured dark sword wielded alongside the halberd; shattered by Qian Daoliu’s Heaven Measuring Sword 50.
  • Rakshasa Demon Scythe — A divine weapon lent by the Rakshasa God; disappears when her Divine Sense withdraws after restraining Qian Daoliu 50 51.
  • Storage Soul Tool — Holds the Soul Bones displayed as competition prizes 122.
  • Competition prizes — Provides one Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Bone and two Thousand-Year Soul Bones for the champion team 119 122.

Relationships

  • Gu Yue — Patron and controller. Grants him Ultimate Darkness and a route toward godhood, but regards him as a useful pawn and maintains a lethal restriction over his soul 48 51.
  • Qian Daoliu — Father and predecessor as Pope. Qian Xunji resents his rigid faith and restraint, ultimately killing and devouring him for the First Rakshasa Trial 46 50 51.
  • Bibi Dong — Disciple and victim of his previous-life abuse. After recognizing her rebirth, he considers killing her, but Gu Yue intervenes; he instead manipulates her attachment to Yu Xiaogang 46 54 68.
  • Qian Renxue — Daughter from his previous life and the intended culmination of his Angel bloodline scheme. Her birth in the altered timeline remains uncertain 46 55 120.
  • Rakshasa God — Divine patron and intended predecessor. Accepts his Ultimate Darkness and ruthless resolve, then helps him kill Qian Daoliu 49 50 51.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Target of calculated flattery and humiliation. Qian Xunji appoints him honorary elder, surrounds him with abusive “scholars,” and exploits his desire for recognition 54 56 59 80.
  • Brother Jie, Brother Wei, Billy, and Brother Jiao — Former prisoners assigned to the research hall under his orders. Their coercion of Yu Xiaogang becomes an instrument of his schemes 56 64 68.
  • Tang Chen — Expedition ally whom he hopes to eliminate indirectly. Uses Tang Chen’s desire for godhood to draw him into conflict with Sea God Island 77 100.
  • Golden Crocodile Douluo and the enshrined — Oppose his murder of Qian Daoliu; he answers their outrage with threats backed by his increased cultivation and divine inheritance 51.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Manipulating the Reborn Characters

  • Exposing their rebirth: Tests Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang at a banquet. Yu Xiaogang’s premature production of his theoretical work confirms Qian Xunji’s suspicions about both of them 53 54.
  • Manufactured prestige: Praises the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul, grants Yu Xiaogang an honorary eldership, and supplies public honors that exploit his vanity 56 59.
  • Sustaining coercion: Places the four former prisoners near Yu Xiaogang, prevents Liu Erlong from interrupting their overnight abuse, and stops Bibi Dong from having them killed 56 64 68.
  • Controlling Bibi Dong: Uses the promise of time with Yu Xiaogang to secure her cooperation with a Sixth Soul Ring hunt and later occupies her with competition preparations 68 72.

Sea God Island Expedition

  • Alliance formation: Recruits Heaven Dou, Star Luo, and the Upper Three Sects through promises of Sea God Island’s wealth and a path to Level 100. Privately, he wants the conflict’s negative emotions and an opportunity to set enemies against each other 76 77.
  • Advance delegation: Persuades Yu Xiaogang to become chief envoy, assigns the four scholars as escorts, and induces Bibi Dong to accompany the mission 80 81.
  • First assault: Claims Sea God Island killed Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden and orders an attack before its defenders can explain. Stages a fight with Sea Dragon Douluo while Tang Chen advances 90.
  • Renewed offensive: After the initial retreat, tempts the leaders with Divine Power. When the island displays the living captives, he refuses to recognize Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang and orders another assault 96 100.
  • Withdrawal: Joins Tang Chen and Ning Fengzhi in blaming Yu Xiaogang for a nuclear explosion. The threat of powerful Sea Soul Beasts ultimately helps force the coalition’s return to the continent 111.

Continental Martial Soul Theory Competition

  • Organization: Establishes the competition with the two empires, proposing rotating hosts and rewards comparable to the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament 72 76.
  • Secret-realm trials: At Gu Yue’s instruction, presents Qiankun Asking Love Valley as an ancient ruin discovered by Spirit Hall. A debate victory grants access to trials offering extraordinary rewards and punishments 120 121.
  • Public influence: Adds three Soul Bones as championship prizes, making the event an opportunity to attract talent and strengthen Spirit Hall’s appeal 119 122.
  • Hidden target: Privately identifies Bibi Dong—not merely Yu Xiaogang—as the intended subject of his competition scheme. Later permits Yu Xiaogang to turn the debates into a stage-defense challenge 121 125.
