Every kind of magical beast had its own secret to survival. The powerful relied on their long lifespans and their ability to protect themselves. Weak magical beasts relied on their advantage in reproduction: if ten were killed, they could produce ten more. As long as a kind of magical beast survived, living on generation after generation, it always had its own way to ensure the continued development of its species.

The lower a magical beast's level, the faster it reproduced, and the more its bloodline was diluted with each generation. Take the swarms of rats in the Dark Forest: how fast did they reproduce? Yet not a single Saint Domain rat had appeared. Of course, Harry and his two brothers had always appeared in their Saint Domain true bodies, but their true strength was at the Midgod level, so they did not count.

But the higher a magical beast's level, the slower it reproduced. At the Silver Dragon's level, both growth and reproduction were extremely slow. Otherwise, would any other species be able to survive? This Silver Dragon was a true adult. The terror of a Level Nine Magical Beast was beyond Luo Feng's imagination. Of course, the current Luo Feng still had no way to come into contact with the Saint Domain.

Luo Feng did not dare breathe too loudly. He carefully watched the two sides facing off ahead: a Silver Dragon, one of the strongest Level Nine Magical Beasts, against a Warrior of the Ninth Rank and a ninth-rank Wind Element grand magus.

The Silver Dragon's chilling gaze flicked briefly toward Luo Feng's hiding place. Luo Feng felt as though a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head in the middle of winter.

Fortunately, Luo Feng's meager strength failed to stir the slightest interest in the Silver Dragon. It now had to face the two hateful humans before it. If it had not expended too much magic power over the past few days, how could a Warrior of the Ninth Rank and a level-nine magus possibly kill it? Damn it!

"Roar!" The Silver Dragon let out a low growl.

"Level Nine Magical Beast Silver Dragon, you truly are one of the dragon species that have the hardest time advancing. The difficulty of your advancement is no less than that of the Spined Iron-Armored Dragon, the strongest of its level. If you were a Saint-level Magical Beast, I'd be afraid of you, but you're merely a Level Nine Magical Beast, so I'm not afraid. I'll give you two choices: die, or become my magical pet," said the elderly level-nine magus standing in midair, his aura growing fierce.

Hearing the old man, Luo Feng could not help feeling a little contemptuous. You two used human lives to wear down the Silver Dragon's strength, and now you're boasting here. Would you dare say that if the Silver Dragon were at full strength? And a Saint-level Magical Beast? Its aura alone could pin you down completely. You wouldn't get a chance to spout all that nonsense.

Though the old man spoke casually, he knew perfectly well how terrifying the Silver Dragon was. The people he had brought with him had been the elites of his mercenary group, all level-seven or level-eight warriors, yet the Silver Dragon had slaughtered every last one of them. He and his son had concealed their strength and only appeared after it had expended most of its own.

Holding his breath, he watched through the grass as the two sides faced off ahead: a Level Nine Magical Beast against a Warrior of the Ninth Rank and a ninth-rank Wind Element grand magus.

He felt his blood boiling. He did not know why, but ever since he had seen the Silver Dragon circling in the sky, watching its noble and graceful form had always stirred an indescribable feeling in his heart. He felt that if he had the strength, he would surely take the Silver Dragon as a companion.

The Silver Dragon slowly landed on the ground, its whole body making popping sounds. Its muscles began to bulge, and its sinews and bones crackled.

"You forced me to do this, damn you! Die!" The Warrior of the Ninth Rank standing nearby had already waited a long time. Seeing the Silver Dragon's movements, he knew negotiations had failed. Without another word, he swung his greatsword and slashed at the Silver Dragon.

With a great roar, the Warrior of the Ninth Rank's entire body abruptly became a blur, bringing him straight in front of the Silver Dragon. He fiercely slashed at the ground beneath it with the Battle-qi he had been gathering, shaking the ground, then used the recoil to move sideways.

The Silver Dragon's massive claw, a full meter wide, slammed into the spot where the Warrior of the Ninth Rank had just been standing. Boom! A series of explosive cracks rang through the air.

Its attack missed. Seeing that the Warrior of the Ninth Rank had dodged aside after that desperate slash, the Silver Dragon's eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty, savage light. It continued its assault on the Warrior of the Ninth Rank, taking wing and driving a foot straight down at his position. The moment he saw it flying toward him, the warrior dodged at his fastest speed without a second thought.

Clearly visible ripples spread through space for two or three meters around the Silver Dragon's claw. Within three meters of it, the stone ground was completely pulverized and sank half a meter deep, while seven or eight terrifying cracks opened across the ground for dozens of meters around.

"So terrifying." Luo Feng felt his throat go dry. It was a Level Nine Magical Beast, and though it was a dragon, wasn't this far too powerful? With just its physical body, a single strike of its claw had caused so much damage. What if it went all out? Luo Feng could not imagine it.

He had always learned about the offensive power of formidable magical beasts from books. Seeing it this time gave Luo Feng a different kind of visual shock. Only now did he realize how great the difference was between reading the original story and seeing it in reality.

Level Nine Magical Beasts are already this powerful. What about Saint-level Magical Beasts? And Saint Warriors? It looks like I still have a long way to go.

At that moment, the ninth-rank Wind Element grand magus floating in the sky watched the Silver Dragon before him with cold eyes.

The Silver Dragon's icy eyes were fixed on him as well. It made no move to attack. Attacking would be useless; with that Warrior of the Ninth Rank here, he interfered greatly every time, so there was no point in attacking.

"Silver Dragon, are you afraid? Don't dare make a move? Then let me make one." The level-nine magus smiled smugly, and a faint azure radiance began to flow around his body.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Countless wind blades swept toward the Silver Dragon. Each was enhanced with Wind Element magic, and they flew so fast that they reached it in an instant. A fierce light flashed in the Silver Dragon's eyes. How could he not know that these wind blades were just the old man's little trick? The real feast was the large-scale spell he was preparing now.

Though it did not know what spell he was preparing to cast, the sense of danger alone was enough to make the Silver Dragon charge forward without hesitation, intending to interrupt his casting.

The Warrior of the Ninth Rank stomped hard on the ground and shot into the sky. He then followed a bizarre curve as he raced toward the Silver Dragon, his greatsword carrying a vast surge of Battle-qi as he slashed at it. Once again, he blocked the Silver Dragon, buying more time for his father.

The Silver Dragon fixed its icy eyes on the Warrior of the Ninth Rank, then suddenly lashed out with its dragon tail, like a long steel whip.

"Whoosh!" The piercing shriek as it cut through the air made Luo Feng's ears ache.

"I won't let you get past. You're weakened, yet you're still this strong. We really underestimated you. But don't worry, you'll soon get a taste of a ninth-rank Wind Element spell—the Vacuum Annihilation Art. Let's see if you can withstand it. Hahaha!" The Warrior of the Ninth Rank used all his Battle-qi to hold the Silver Dragon back. Seeing its furious tail strike, he did not dare meet it head-on, and poured all his Battle-qi into his greatsword.

"Crack!"

The dragon's tail struck the greatsword with a dull impact. Blood immediately sprayed from the Silver Dragon's tail, and it drew the tail back.

The Warrior of the Ninth Rank's greatsword shattered, and he was sent flying. He had traded injury for injury. But it looked as though the old man's Vacuum Annihilation Art was almost complete.
