Setting Out for the Magic Council
Hughes stared blankly at the Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs on his hands. He recognized them; they were similar to the Seastone Handcuffs from the One Piece world.
Once bound by the Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs, a mage is unable to draw upon magical power or use magic.
At this moment, Hughes was filled with surprise. He knew that the Flame-Flame Fruit might not be as invincible as he had thought. After all, among the people he had fought so far, Laxus was able to seal his Elementalization, and the Primordial Demon Satan could do the same.
Based on this, Hughes initially speculated that the Magic Sealing Stone should work on him, but now it seems to be completely useless.
Could it be that, as I suspect, the Flame-Flame Fruit, formed by absorbing the Devil Factor of Balrog the Flame Demon, is different from the Flame-Flame Fruit in the conventional sense?
After all, I'm not afraid of seawater.
"Let's go, come back to the Magic Council with us for investigation!" urged a member of the First Custody Enforcement Unit standing in front of Hughes.
Hughes snapped out of his daze, glanced calmly at him and the toad messenger, and slightly spread his hands.
Bang~
The chains of the Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs snapped in two before their eyes. The members of the First Custody Enforcement Unit were so frightened that they took two steps back, and the Toad Messenger was even more shocked, his mouth agape.
"No... impossible! Even the ' Ten Wizard Saints ' cannot use magic when bound by the Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs. How could you possibly break the chains of these Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs!"
The man and the toad stared blankly at the broken Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs, then looked up at Hughes in disbelief.
This is not magic at all...
Hughes grinned at them, already so shocked at such a short time, and raised his arms, slamming them together in front of him.
"Clang!"
The two shattered Magic Sealing Stone bracelets fell into Hughes's hands. With a flick of his wrist, Hughes tossed them into the arms of the man and the toad.
"Wait quietly for a moment, I need to ask you something first!"
Hughes turned around, only to be met with pairs of eyes that held a variety of meanings.
"Wait, why are you looking at me like that?" Hughes asked, puzzled.
These people are always acting strangely; they don't act like normal people at all.
The atmosphere froze for a moment, then two...
Then, a sudden burst of Kikoku and wailing erupted, startling Hughes.
Macao slid in and grabbed Hughes's leg.
"Hughes, teach me, teach me how to use my power even when I'm bound by the handcuffs of the Magic Sealing Stone."
At this moment, Macao was no less shocked than a Devil Fruit user seeing another Devil Fruit user using Seastone slab as a bed.
"Teach me, and I'll buy you all the photobooks this year!" Macao promised with a pained expression.
Hughes, his face darkening, raised his right leg and flung Macao away.
Damn it, how could someone as energetic as him be that kind of person!
He has never been able to live with gambling and drugs in his life, so why would he sell himself out for such a small amount of profit?
"Macao, ask the president for details; he knows everything about me. Also, make sure to personally deliver the photobook to me every month, and especially don't give it to Mira!"
After solemnly instructing Macao, Hughes, whose mood swings were commonplace, glared angrily at Makarov.
If I remember correctly, the old man said he would handle the matter of damaging the territories of two countries. What's going on now? People from the Magic Council have come knocking on our door!
"Old man, if you don't give me an explanation, I'm going to conspicuously escape from the Magic Council's prison, brandishing the Fairy Tail guild crest; afterwards, I'll give interviews and smear all sorts of accusations!"
Hughes curled his lip and threatened, "Who told this old man to be so unreliable?"
Makarov mentally reviewed what Hughes had said, and his body froze instantly. Hughes would definitely do this...
If Hughes were to smear Fairy Tail like this, how would he face the first and second guild masters after he dies!
"Ahem, Hughes, let me explain. I really did take care of it. The Magic Council even sent a letter saying they won't pursue the matter!"
"Warren, come here. I need to tell Hughes a secret. Use Telepathy Magic to link us together," Makarov beckoned to Warren.
Some things really can't be said in public, especially with the Magic Council members here; it would be detrimental to unity.
A moment later, Hughes and Makarov entered a private communication mode, undisturbed by anyone. The carefree members of the Fairy Tail guild were already discussing whether they should have a few more drinks.
As for the Toad Messenger and the members of the First Custody Enforcement Unit, their eyes were focused on the Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs that Hughes had destroyed.
It was still unbelievable, as if Hughes had shattered not just the Magic Sealing Stone Handcuffs, but their very understanding of the world.
After communicating and analyzing with Makarov, Hughes realized that there might be another reason why the Magic Council wanted to arrest him.
It was merely a pretext that the leadership of the Magic Council wanted to meet him in person and discuss some unknown matters with him, using his actions of damaging the territories of both countries as an excuse.
Finally, Makarov solemnly instructed Hughes to be extremely careful of Crawford Himm, the president of the Magic Council, and not to agree to anything they promised.
The two talked quickly and then cut off the communication shortly afterward.
Hughes snapped out of his daze and saw Mira and the other two standing beside him, all of them looking at him nervously.
"Don't worry, with my skills they wouldn't dare do anything to me. I should be back in a few days!" Hughes said with a smile.
"Hughes, you'd better come back soon, or Sister Mira will be too worried to sleep!"
"You precocious girl, shut up!" Hughes raised his fist, indicating that he was going to hit her.
Lisanna stuck out her tongue and obediently hid behind Mira.
Mira glanced at Hughes a few times, then slowly lowered her head and whispered like a quail, "I've recently learned a few new dishes. I'll cook them for you when you come back..."
In the end, perhaps sensing that everyone's eyes were on her, Mira lowered her head further and further, and her voice became softer and softer.
Hughes smiled and reached out to pat Mira's little head.
"They're gone!"
Having said that, Hughes turned and stepped out of the guild, waving his hand behind the Toad Messenger like a master, saying, "Toad, let's go. Forget the handcuffs, I find them disgusting!"
"It's the Toad Messenger, not a toad. And you're a suspect now, so don't talk to us like that." The Toad Messenger waved his toad paws at Hughes, breaking his guard.
Hughes pretended not to hear, turned around and climbed into the magic vehicle bearing the emblem of the Magic Council.
Having been in the Fairy Tail world for so long and ridden the train many times, I've finally gotten to ride this unique magical train.
Wish-1...
To be honest, Hughes really wants to go to the Magic Council; needless to say, there would be plenty of quests to trigger there.
Fairy Tail is recognized as a pirate crew by the system; I wonder what the Magic Council is recognized as by the system?
Navy, Revolutionary Army, or World Government?
