This is absolutely outrageous!

Then, without hesitation, Mikoto slapped Koki on the head.

"Mom!?" Koki covered his head, unable to believe that the always gentle Mikoto would Teuchi him, even though he wasn't in much pain.

"Auntie!?" Shisui also spoke disapprovingly, gently rubbing Koki's forehead.

"Mom!?" Itachi stared wide-eyed at Mikoto.

"Haha, what nonsense are you talking about, kid? How old is Itachi?" Mikoto said with a guilty smile in response to the three children's unanimous shouts.

She didn't know what was wrong with her, but after hearing those words, she actually felt that Koki was quite annoying and couldn't control herself for a moment.

How old is Itachi now? What kind of daughter-in-law are they going to find for him? A child bride?

Koki scratched her head, looking at Mikoto with a wry smile, "I know, I just... I just felt you might have misunderstood me."

Shisui stood up, frowning as she looked at Mikoto. "Mom, you can't hit him just because of something Koki said unintentionally. He didn't mean it."

Looking at her two sons, Mikoto felt a pang of guilt, knowing that her reaction had indeed been too impulsive.

She sighed, sat down on the sofa, and reached out to pat Koki's head.

"Okay, I admit I was a bit impulsive just now. But, Koki, you really can't say things like that anymore. Itachi is still young."

"Okay." In the dim light, Koki nodded repeatedly, then changed the subject, "Anyway, we still have Obito-nii and Shisui."

"What does this have to do with me!" Shisui's face was ashen, like the night sky ripped open by a sharp blade.

He simply couldn't believe it; just a short while ago, he was defending Koki, and now he was being "betrayed" in this way.

He gave a cold laugh in anger, but remained resolute in his heart: he would never find a girlfriend!

Moreover, when Koki spoke, Shisui felt a bitter taste in his heart for no reason.

He wanted to retort, "Relying on yourself is less reliable than relying on Koki."

However, whenever Koki would have a girlfriend and someone would be by his side, it felt like a Shisui blade was piercing his heart, causing him unbearable pain.

He asked himself, what's wrong? He pressed his hand to his chest, feeling increasingly wronged, and his eyes even welled up with tears.

Koki's eyes flickered, seemingly puzzled by Shisui's strong reaction.

He wanted to speak, to say that it was all a natural thing. However, seeing Shisui's unpleasant expression, Koki wisely chose to remain silent.

For a moment, the living room was completely silent, so quiet that only the sound of the wind coming from the courtyard outside the window could be heard.

"Alright, let's not talk about this anymore." Mikoto broke the silence, looking at her three sons who were deep in thought.

A hint of mockery flashed in her eyes as she winked at the three of them. "I don't think I can count on you guys. Your dad and I might as well try our best!"

This left everyone speechless for a moment.

"Hahaha." Mikoto seemed to find it amusing, covering her mouth and chuckling. "Just kidding. Okay, I'm going back to my room. You all should get some rest."

"Are we going to work hard together with Daddy?" Koki joked playfully.

"Slap!" A crisp slap rang out, Koki covered her head, sitting obediently on the sofa.

Mikoto stood up gracefully and looked at Koki tenderly. "Son, I couldn't control my hand again, does it hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt." Koki shook her head like a rattle-drum.

"That's good, I'm going back to my room." Mikoto said, picking up her first-aid kit and heading to leave.

"Wait, Mom." Koki's voice rang out, and Mikoto stopped in her tracks, turning around to look at him with a puzzled expression, as if asking what was wrong.

"Mom, where is Uncle Sakumo?" Koki asked, puzzled. She hadn't seen him since training, and he was nowhere to be found when she got home.

"Didn't Kakashi go on a mission? It seems your Uncle Sakumo went to protect him," Mikoto replied.

"Okay, Mom, get some rest." Koki got the answer she wanted and breathed a slight sigh of relief.

He always felt that the relationship between Kakashi and his son was somewhat subtle, as if there was an unspeakable sense of estrangement between them.

It seems my guess was correct.

Hatake Sakumo went to protect Kakashi, but it was a secret operation, and he didn't even let his son know.

Koki was thoughtful.

"Brother, let's go play in the yard." Itachi's voice, like a gentle breeze, softly broke Koki's thoughts.

He looked in the direction of the sound and saw Itachi pointing outside, looking at him expectantly, his childish voice filled with joy and anticipation.

His gaze involuntarily drifted towards the door, following the direction the weasel was pointing; there, the scenery was picturesque.

The setting sun, like a flowing poem, leisurely casts its radiance, and with the fine sands of time, the years slip silently through our fingers.

At the edge of the sky, the setting sun slowly sinks, and the colors of the sky gradually change from orange-yellow to deep twilight, like a magnificent painting that captivates the eye.

"Okay," Koki readily agreed to her brother's suggestion.

Koki looked at Shisui beside her. He sat quietly by the window, his gaze piercing through the window and lingering on the distant horizon, as if he were immersed in a deep dream. His back looked lonely and fragile.

Shisui had been in this pensive state since just now, which puzzled Koki.

Koki asked softly, "Shisui, what's wrong? Why don't we go play in the yard together?" His voice held a hint of expectation, hoping to break the suffocating silence.

Shisui slowly turned his face, his voice deep and hoarse. "I won't go."

Shisui 'Koki words were still echoing in his mind.

"Alright then, Shisui, you should get some rest." Koki picked up Itachi, seemingly preparing to leave.

Just as he was about to step across the threshold, Shisui finally spoke, calling out to him, "Koki."

"What's wrong?" Koki turned around, thinking that Shisui had changed her mind.

Shisui's gaze lingered on Koki, a flicker of hesitation and struggle in his eyes. He took a deep breath and finally mustered the courage to ask, "So... what you just said, were you joking?"

"What did you say?" Koki had long forgotten what he had said.

"It's... it's what you were talking about with Auntie about finding..." Shisui's voice trailed off under Koki's gaze, and he finally lowered his head, no longer daring to meet Koki's eyes.

Shisui also felt that asking these questions was somewhat unreasonable, but he couldn't bear the doubt in his heart.
