Innate Dharma Artifact: Meteor Spear!
The Lingming Stone Monkey had given him powerful senses, so he naturally detected the Buddhist power above the East Sea at once.
"What's wrong, brother?" the Bull Demon King asked, puzzled as he watched Sun Wukong suddenly turn his head.
"I sensed an enemy, a damned bald donkey!" Sun Wukong began grinding his teeth as he spoke.
At the words "bald donkey," Sun Wukong was so angry that his eyes reddened.
He still remembered how he had just returned, his heart brimming with joy, eager to show off to his children.
But as soon as he reached the edge of Flower-Fruit Mountain, he saw that bald donkey standing atop the mountain, clutching one of his descendants in his hand. The presence he gave off sent his children fleeing in all directions, and some of the weaker ones, unable to withstand it, were scared to death.
He had given that battle everything he had, but he knew no divine arts of attack, while that damned bald donkey's golden body was impervious to blades and spears.
He could only strike at his opponent's vulnerable spots, and in the end, he had still let the bald donkey escape.
"Hmm? A bald donkey?" The Bull Demon King had also noticed it now. That conspicuous Buddhist power was completely undisguised, out in the open for all to see.
He gave Sun Wukong a long look. The monkey demon before him was clearly weaker than he was, yet his senses were sharper.
"Hmm, did he offend you?" the Bull Demon King then asked.
"After Old Sun returned from studying under a master, I had just come home when I saw that bald donkey abusing my children. Old Sun fought him, but I had no suitable weapon, and that bald donkey's body was so hard that he managed to escape." Sun Wukong ground his teeth as he spoke.
"A weapon? Brother, don't you know? The East Sea Dragon Palace in the East Sea is the power with the most treasures in the mortal world. Don't you know that?" the Bull Demon King remarked.
"With your strength, you could go and have a word with the Dragon King. He might well give you a weapon."
"Oh? The old Dragon King has weapons? Does he have armor too?" Sun Wukong asked, his face full of anticipation.
"That's the Dragon Palace. If there's one thing it has plenty of, it's treasures. Swords, spears, cudgels and staves, all kinds of armor too," the Bull Demon King said with a scoff.
"Does he have armor like this?" As Sun Wukong spoke, he pinched his fingers together, and the half-meter-tall wooden statue that had stood at the entrance to the Water Curtain Cave appeared before him.
The wooden statue depicted a sharply angled suit of armor, painted red. Two curved protrusions rose from the brow of the helmet like a young dragon's horns, and a lotus pedestal resembling flames surrounded the base of the statue.
"Th-this is armor?" the Bull Demon King could not help asking when he saw the statue.
"Yes. My children told me it was worn by a human cultivator. This benefactor slew the Demon King of Havoc, who had been bullying my children. To commemorate him, my children carved this statue and worship it day and night, praying for him."
At this, Wukong's voice suddenly softened.
The wooden statue was half a meter tall and hardly finely carved, but the monkey descendants had made it earnestly, one cut at a time.
The gray monkeys in particular came to the entrance of the Water Curtain Cave every day before dawn and wiped every trace of dew and dust from the statue.
Then they placed a handful of freshly picked wild fruit before it.
They acknowledged neither Buddha nor god, only this one person who had killed the Demon King of Havoc who bullied them.
At this, Sun Wukong sighed with emotion and used his magic power to send the statue back to the entrance of the Water Curtain Cave.
"A righteous man indeed." The Bull Demon King nodded slightly, then happened to catch a glimpse of it out of the corner of his eye.
His clouded eyes nearly lit up.
Wait, was he seeing things?
Why did there seem to be a golden light on the wooden statue?
Was that the power of worship?
"Yes. If I get the chance, Old Sun will surely share a drink with him." Sun Wukong nodded, a trace of emotion flashing in his eyes.
He then turned his gaze to the boundless ocean to the east.
His eyes were eager. Whatever else might be said, he did need a suitable weapon right now.
Otherwise, he couldn't even fight properly.
"You want to go, brother?" The Bull Demon King drained the monkey wine in his bowl and asked with a smile.
"Of course!" Sun Wukong nodded.
"Then let's go together. With me there, I expect the old Dragon King will show your elder brother a little courtesy." The Bull Demon King nodded confidently.
"All right, elder brother, what are we waiting for? Let's go together."
"Children, stay here and behave! Your king is going to find himself a suitable weapon."
In the Sea of Stars, Jiang Zhe sat cross-legged beneath the Black Rhino Star.
The enormous rhinoceros roared toward the sky, and a black drum suddenly appeared.
It was the intrinsic Dharma Artifact born from the Cowherd Star.
The River Drum!
Ancient texts recorded that the River Drum had three stars, which were three great generals of the celestial realm.
And the Cowherd Star was the great general of the central army, in charge of the celestial realm's war drums!
It was a quintessential martial general star.
It also possessed the ability to command beasts, using starlight to drive the myriad beasts and lead oxen and horses.
Weaver Girl oversaw farming and sericulture!
Cowherd oversaw corporate livestock!
The Black Rhino Star had evolved from the Cowherd Star, so its abilities were naturally different from the original Cowherd Star's.
First was the River Drum. After sensing the River Drum in the sky with his mind, Jiang Zhe was naturally dissatisfied.
Who used a drum as a weapon?
As though sensing its master's thoughts, the pitch-black rhinoceros roared toward the sky. Its horn erupted with black light and abruptly pierced the River Drum.
The next second, the River Drum dissolved into light. Immediately afterward!
A meteor streaked past and fell into the center of the River Drum's dispersing light!
It formed a spear.
[Meteor Spear]
The spear was approximately seven chi long and pitch-black from end to end. A silvery-white line wound along its shaft from tip to butt, as though a tiny river had been forcibly stuffed inside it.
The spearhead still resembled a rhinoceros horn, slightly curved and looking exceedingly fierce.
Unlike other spears, it had a small drum cast onto its butt. Pitch-black all over, the drum moved without wind, and each slight tremor sent out a ring of ripples visible to the naked eye.
Jiang Zhe seized the pitch-black Meteor Spear.
[Intrinsic Dharma Artifact: Meteor Spear] [Traits: starlight as its edge, Weak Water as its veins, the foundation of ten thousand jun sealed within the spear] [Quality: Innate Dharma Artifact]
Magic treasures were divided into Dharma Artifacts, Spirit Treasures, and Supreme Treasures.
Each rank was further divided into innate and acquired.
Supreme Treasures were somewhat unusual, with Chaos Supreme Treasures ranking above them.
Specifically, their rank was determined by the restrictions contained within them.
The strongest Chaos Supreme Treasures possessed restrictions of level fifty or above!
Below them were Innate Supreme Treasures, at levels 45-49.
For now, the strongest were presumably Innate Supreme Treasures with forty-nine restrictions, such as the Three Pure Ones' signature magic treasures.
