Background / History

Early Life

Miko knew Raiden Makoto and Kitsune Saiguu before their deaths five hundred years earlier. Saiguu remembers her as a small fox who stole fried tofu and shrine offerings; on one occasion, being caught frightened Miko into reverting to her original form. By the time Saiguu returns, Miko has become Guuji 40 45 46.

Meeting Baichen

Miko first encounters Baichen while he explores Tenshukaku. She recognizes the significance of Ei allowing a man into the residence and giving him an Electro Sigil. After detecting traces of travel through time and space on him, she questions his origins but does not insist on an answer 1.

Although she initially warns him away from the western library, Miko later opens its barrier herself and takes him inside to examine a forbidden book. They hide from Kujou Sara when she investigates the disturbance. Following the Tatarasuna explosion, Miko shows Baichen a similar Tatarigami crystal and reveals that the Resistance did not bring the crystal that exploded 2 3.

Protecting Baichen

At Yae Publishing House, Miko gives Baichen a fox-patterned omamori and conceals a warning letter inside a Teyvat Travel Guide. She subsequently intervenes when La Signora attempts to take him, before the Shogun arrives and forces the Harbinger to retreat 4.

During Ayaka's tea party, Miko produces evidence that Ayaka's brother sent a secret envoy to Watatsumi Island. She blocks incoming crossbow bolts with a barrier, but Baichen disappears through a trapdoor. Miko later supplies the clue that enables the Shogun to rescue him and stops Ayaka from continuing her attack during their departure 6 9.

Miko also identifies Ayaka's Camellia Love fragrance as a substance capable of influencing Baichen's feelings. She provides a neutralizing sachet and, during a midnight meeting at Tenshukaku's tower, antidote powder. Baichen completes the antidote course afterward 11 12.

Publishing and Makoto's Resurrection

Miko uses Baichen's experiences as material for her publishing work, including an embellished manuscript about him and Bronya. Later, she recruits him for a Yae Publishing House photo shoot by offering treasured cosplay photographs of Ei as payment 20 38.

After sensing an otherworldly aura around Baichen, Miko correctly suspects that he can resurrect Makoto. She takes him to Makoto's former residence, preserved unchanged for five hundred years, where he activates the Resurrection Ball. Miko welcomes Makoto back and helps arrange her reunion with Ei 38 39 40.

Festival and Saiguu's Return

Miko attends Ei's birthday celebration and later joins Ei, Makoto, and Baichen for the Thunder Sakura Festival warm-up. She prepares matching yukata, provides disguising masks, and wins a bag of goldfish for Baichen 42 44.

Following Kitsune Saiguu's resurrection, Miko spends the night with the reunited group at Tenshukaku, briefly returns to her shrine duties, and rejoins them for their hot-spring outing 46.
