"Ah, Professor Mornye heard that!" Sigrika covered her eyes shyly, peeking at Mornye's expression through her fingers.

"Lynae, you just said that he forcibly kissed Sigrika?" Mornye repeated, her voice much lower than before.

"Uh, Professor Mornye, that's true, that bastard..." Lynae started to say, but then noticed that Mornye's expression was not right, so she swallowed the rest of her sentence.

Mornye lowered his head.

Her eyelashes trembled a few times, and tears glistened in the corners of her eyes.

Lynae and Sigrika looked at each other, unsure how to respond.

Mornye couldn't understand it.

Why, why did he treat Sigrika like that, yet refuse to say a single word to her?

From their very first meeting, she sensed that he was intentionally distancing himself from her.

Is it really because she is a person with a physical disability?

"Professor Mornye, are you alright?" Lynae leaned closer.

Mornye looked up and forced a smile. It was a faint smile, so faint that even holding it up seemed strained. "It's alright. Let's go inside."

She wanted to know the answer. She wanted to hear it from him himself, to know exactly how he felt about her. Even if the answer wasn't good, it would be better than guessing forever.

The three entered the hall.

Lynae spotted that particularly eye-catching figure in the crowd almost immediately.

He's 2.14 meters tall, standing there a head taller than everyone around him; it's impossible not to see him.

The Tall Man was standing next to the dessert table in the corner, his expression as if he had just been owed eight million.

"Damn it! You damn system, why didn't you react just now? I kissed the Rover for so long! And you didn't say a word." Kexi cursed the system eighteen times in her mind.

[Note: The Rover is not a Resonator and cannot achieve a state of Resonance Synchronization. Please select a native Resonator from Solaris for synchronization.]

"What did you say?! You're saying Rover isn't a Resonator? You're fucking kidding me! Doesn't she have Tacet Mark on her hands?! How can she not be?!"

"Say something! Hey! Stop playing dead!"

Kexi stomped his feet in anger, shaking the dessert table and causing the fruit platters to rattle. Just then, a small hand climbed up his shoulder from behind.

"Who is it? Can't you see I'm annoyed?!" He turned his head sharply, his anger still simmering, and was met with two familiar faces.

Lynae stood on the left, arms crossed, chin slightly raised, a "you're doomed" smile on her lips.

Sigrika stood on the right, her hands clasped in front of her, her face flushed, her eyes darting around, but she couldn't help but steal glances at him every now and then.

"Um, hi, hello there, Lynae and Sigrika." Kexi's anger was instantly suppressed by her survival instinct, replaced by an overly enthusiastic smile, "Long time no see."

"Not long ago," Lynae said with a smile, "We just met yesterday."

"Really? Hahaha, I don't have a very good memory." Kexi took half a step back, her lower back bracing against the dessert table.

"Bad memory?" Lynae tilted her head. "Do you remember yesterday when you knocked over my ice cream?"

"I remember, I remember, I said I'd pay you tenfold."

"Do you remember forcibly kissing Sigrika?"

Kexi's smile froze.

His gaze moved from Lynae's face to Sigrika's face, and then back again.

Sigrika blushed even more, almost shrinking behind Lynae.

"That... that is..." Kexi's mind started racing.

"What is it?" Lynae took a step forward.

Just as Kexi was about to be driven into a corner, his gaze went over Lynae's shoulder and saw something further away.

A figure wearing a black halter dress was walking into the hall.

Fishnet stockings, a short skirt, and a pair of white fox ears sticking out on her head.

Phrolova.

She stood expressionless at the door, with Luna beside her, beaming with smiles.

Phrolova's appearance was like a pebble thrown into the crowd; the surrounding guests all turned to look at her, unable to help but exclaim in admiration, "Such a stunning vixen, which family's young lady is she?"

Several foreign guests were even getting restless and couldn't resist trying to strike up a conversation.

Kexi's attention was also drawn away for two seconds.

Holy crap, isn't that Heartmoon Phrolova?! She's even wearing fishnets, so sexy! Could Luna have done this?

"Kexi." Lynae's voice pulled him back to reality, "Are you even listening to me?"

"I'm listening, I'm listening." Kexi quickly looked away.

"I just said, you have to give us an explanation today. Otherwise—"

"Otherwise what?"

Lynae looked around, lowered her voice, but enunciated each word clearly. "Otherwise, I'll tell everyone that you forcibly kissed Sigrika. Let everyone know that the young master of the Montelli Family is a pervert."

Kexi's pupils contracted slightly.

It wasn't that he was frightened by Lynae's words.

Instead, he saw Changli and Cantarella appear at the other end of the crowd.

At the entrance, Jinhsi was leading Sanhua, Yangyang, and Baizhi inside.

Juno and Augusta also came.

Kexi took a deep breath.

Today's birthday party may truly be the biggest test of his life.

"Yes, you said yesterday that you wanted to give me an explanation." Sigrika nodded in agreement with Lynae.

"Kexi, um, I want to know..." Mornye was interrupted by Kexi before he could finish speaking.

"Don't speak yet."

His casual remark struck Mornye like a hammer blow to the heart.

She nearly lost her balance.

Kexi had no idea how much her words had hurt Mornye.

Does he really dislike her that much?

Kexi's main concern was dealing with Sigrika's matter first.

"Um, you want me to give you some tape, right?"

"Yes, that's right! You said you would give me an explanation."

"Okay Sigrika, I'll give you some tape."

Kexi stepped forward and got close to Sigrika, startling her.

"What do you want to do?"

Sigrika's face flushed instantly; he had done the same thing yesterday, suddenly kissing her forcefully.

"Hey, what are you doing to Sigrika?! You bastard!" Lynae shouted, seeing his strange behavior.

"Didn't you want me to give you some tape?" Kexi looked innocent, took out a roll of tape from somewhere, and stuffed it into Sigrika's hand.

"Here, the tape you wanted."

Sigrika stared at the roll of tape in her palm for a full three seconds, then suddenly looked up, her face turning from pink to deep red.

"That's not the tape I was talking about!" She almost threw the tape back at Kexi's face.

"Which explanation are you referring to?" Kexi spread her hands innocently, took a step back, and just in time dodged Sigrika's swinging fist. "I'm not very well-educated, so don't try to argue with me about words."

Lynae, standing to the side, gritted her teeth in anger. "Stop playing dumb with me! Sigrika wants an explanation, not a roll of duct tape!"

"An explanation?" Kexi's expression suddenly turned extremely sorrowful. He solemnly said to Sigrika, "What happened yesterday was indeed a moment of impulse. I have a problem; I can't resist pretty girls. Sigrika so cute, I couldn't help myself. It's my fault. I apologize. You'll forgive me, right, baby?"

Sigrika opened her mouth, but the anger suddenly got stuck in her throat.

She had prepared eight hundred insults, but Kexi so readily admitted her mistake, praised her as cute, and even called her...

Her face turned even redder, her fingers twisting the roll of tape, and she remained silent for a long time with her head down.

Seeing Sigrika's expression, Lynae sighed in exasperation, "Sigrika, don't let him fool you!"

"But he called me baby~" Sigrika muttered softly, her face flushed.

Lynae was about to lose it. He was a liar! Why was she blushing like that?!
