Kexi Is Wanted
The Female Rover up to Carlotta and patted her on the shoulder.
Carlotta looked up, saw that it was the Rover, and forced a smile.
"I'm fine."
"I believe him," the Female Rover said calmly but firmly. "He must be innocent."
Carlotta paused for a moment, then burst out laughing, a laugh that was much more genuine than the forced one she had given earlier.
She sighed. "Thank you. But things are very complicated now; the Order clearly trying to use this as an excuse."
Augusta strode over, with Juno and Lupa following behind her.
Three men from the Septimont stood before Carlotta.
"We don't believe he did it either," Augusta said, her voice crisp.
"Yeah, that coward ran away as soon as he saw me, and even killed someone?" Juno said, hands on his hips, his tone full of disdain. "I don't believe it."
"I don't believe it either. How could the man I've set my sights on do something like stabbing me in the back?" Lupa raised her head like a proud little wolf.
Juno immediately gave him a hostile look.
Looking at the three of them, Carlotta felt a little warmer inside.
Although these three women were just chasing after her brother and slashing at him, at least now they've chosen to stand by Kexi's side.
"Thank you," said Carlotta.
"Don't thank us, we just want to beat him up ourselves, we don't want him to be wrongly accused." Juno snorted indifferently.
On the other end, Suisui played with the fan in her hand, an undisguised joy on her face.
Seeing Carlotta's flustered state, she couldn't suppress the smile playing on her lips.
Carlotta, her old rival, with whom she had always engaged in fierce competition in the business world, finally tasted the bitter fruit of her actions today.
It would be best if that bastard Kexi were put on the wanted list and imprisoned for life after being caught.
That Yangyang can give up on him sooner and go back to get married properly.
Suisui became more and more satisfied, and even waved her fan more lightly than usual.
Yangyang walked straight up to Carlotta, her gaze resolute.
"Miss Carlotta, I believe my brother-in-law would never do such a thing."
Before Carlotta could speak, Suisui's voice drifted over from the side. "Yangyang, what are you saying?!"
Suisui walked up to Yangyang, her face darkening. "That man assassinated the Prime Minister, and you still call him brother-in-law?"
"Sister, it definitely wasn't him." Yangyang looked up, her voice soft but clear, "I'll find out."
"What are you investigating?" Suisui's temper flared. "Changli saw it with his own eyes, and you still want to investigate? What kind of spell has he cast on you?"
"What Lord Changli saw may not necessarily be the truth." Yangyang stubbornly shook her head. "Although my brother-in-law is unreliable, he's not a bad person."
"Not a bad person?!" Suisui was so angry she laughed. "Have you seen how many people he's written letters to? She just kissed Cioccolata in front of you and molested Changli. And you're still defending him?"
That doesn't mean he'd kill someone.
Suisui was speechless at her stubbornness.
She stared at Yangyang, her chest heaving several times, before finally closing her fan, turning, and leaving.
"Whatever you want, just don't regret it later."
Yangyang watched her sister's retreating figure, pursed her lips, and didn't follow.
Mercury Church
Alex pushed open the door to Fenrico's study.
Fenrico is holding a pen and working on some documents.
He looked up when he heard footsteps.
Upon seeing Alex, he said, "You're back?"
"My lord," Alex said with a slight bow, "Something has happened on Montelli's side."
He recounted in detail what had happened at the Montelli Manor.
After listening, Fenrico put down his pen.
"Montelli attempted to assassinate the magistrate of Jinzhou." His tone carried a hint of surprise. "That girl, Carlotta, wouldn't do something so foolish. No matter how outrageous her brother is, he wouldn't stoop to assassination at this critical juncture."
"I think so too," Alex nodded. "But this is a good opportunity. The private terminal that Montelli promoting has shaken our foundation in Rinascita and threatened the status of the public Echo. We can use this rare opportunity to suppress them."
Fenrico did not answer immediately.
He stood up, walked to the window, and looked at the sea outside.
"The magistrate of Jinzhou was assassinated in Ragunna. She came with a delegation, and Huanglong won't let this go easily." Fenrico frowned. "How am I supposed to explain this to Huanglong?"
Alex paused for a moment, then said, "I can issue the arrest warrant first to show the Order's stance. As for what happens next, we'll discuss that after Carlotta hands over Kexi."
Fenrico turned and glanced at him.
"Let's do it this way. Notify the Ordo for Kexi Xi Montelli on suspicion of assassinating the Prefect of Jinzhou. Let's make a show of it first." He paused. "Remember, an arrest warrant is an arrest warrant; don't kill him. A living Kexi is more useful than a dead one."
"Understood."
Alex accepted the order and left.
Fenrico was left alone in the study, and he continued to look out the window at the sea.
"Carlotta, you really have a good brother," he murmured.
Somewhere Ragunna City.
Christopher and Scar found Phrolova.
She was still wearing that black halter dress, with fishnet stockings peeking out from under the hem, the neckline plunging as low as it could go, and the fox ears on her head still attached.
She leaned against a tree, arms crossed, her face so cold it seemed to be covered in frost, but she looked like she'd just escaped from some shady nightclub.
The Scar the first thing that couldn't be held back.
He sized her up and down, a smirk spreading across his face that was incredibly irritating. "If the other council members knew that our Fractsidus's chief musician was dressed like this, tsk tsk tsk."
Phrolova's gaze flashed towards him. "Say that again."
The Scar innocently raised his hand and took a half-step back, his smile fading slightly, "What, can't I even say anything now?"
Christopher walked up to Phrolova, adjusted his mask, and glanced at her from head to toe. His expression was calm, but the curiosity in his eyes was impossible to hide. "Phrolova, why did you get into this state in Montelli?"
Phrolova pursed her lips. What could she say? That her powers inexplicably vanished the moment she saw Kexi, and then she was forced to smell chicken droppings by a blond girl named Luna, unable to even defeat an ordinary maid? If she said that, how could she ever face the Fractsidus again?
"I'll wear whatever I want." She turned her face away, her voice stiff. "It's none of your business."
Christopher looked at her for two seconds but didn't ask any further questions.
He knew Phrolova too well; there was nothing he could pry into her saying.
"Get this damn thing off my neck first." Phrolova pointed to the Resonance Suppressor on his neck.
The Scar leaned closer for a look, then shook his head. "This thing is custom-made; we don't have the key."
"Blow it up if you don't have the key."
Scar paused, glancing at the Resonance Suppressor on Phrolova's neck, then at her face, his expression becoming subtle. "Are you sure? If it explodes directly, it'll hurt a lot, won't it?"
"Go ahead and do it." Phrolova didn't care at all, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Scar shrugged, pulled out a Blast card, walked up to Phrolova, stuck it on the latch of the Resonance Suppressor, and then quickly retreated to a distance.
Christopher also took a few steps back, standing at a safe distance, and watched calmly.
The bomb sign is now visible.
With a loud bang, smoke and dust exploded, snapping a nearby tree in half, and the air was filled with a burnt smell.
The smoke and dust cleared.
Phrolova fell to the ground.
To be precise, Phrolova's "body" lay on the ground.
Her neck was empty; her head was gone.
Scar glanced at the headless body on the ground, then at Christopher.
Christopher's expression remained unchanged; he simply took out his terminal and checked the time.
Half an hour later.
Phrolova got up again unharmed.
She opened her eyes, turned her completely new neck, patted the dust off her face, her expression blank.
The person with the Scar watched with envy.
She had witnessed Phrolova's recovery, but every time she saw this process of regeneration from nothing, she still found it amazing.
Christopher adjusted his mask, a hint of genuine admiration in his voice. "Truly terrifying regenerative abilities."
Phrolova flexed his wrists, feeling the Resonance Energy surging within him, and his cold expression finally regained some of its composure.
Christopher turned his gaze away from her and looked into the distance.
"Let's put Kexi's matter aside for now." His voice regained its unhurried composure. "Carnival is in two days; let's go make arrangements for the Rover first."
Phrolova did not speak.
She glanced down at her revealing dress and frowned slightly.
He needs to change his clothes first, and then he'll settle accounts with that person properly.
Someone in Montelli is going to be in trouble.
Who is it? It's so hard to guess.
