Roccia served as principal of Star Torch Academy before crossing into Xiao Ling’s world. She regarded protecting students and their dreams as the purpose of her work, although her responsibilities left her little personal time. Despite being a memory-type Resonator, she described having only a few fragments of childhood memories and feeling that she had already become a self-reliant adult by the time she came to her senses 23 121.

Her authority at Star Torch Academy was not absolute. Although she considered Dania a student before regarding her as a Fractsidus mole or Threnodian Resonator, she lacked the final say needed to protect her from the academy’s decisions 59.

After crossing worlds, Roccia became principal of Xiao Ling’s school. Working with Professor Morning, she used the value of Morning’s Helios engineering records to help fellow arrivals obtain identities in the new world 24 80.

Roccia described an emotionally distant family relationship: the woman she spoke of did not interfere with her life, but also did not express care through small, personal gestures.
