The entire palace was golden and shone with a soft glow. Built of golden rock, it was not only sturdy and indestructible, able to stand for eternity, but could also gather the auspicious spiritual Qi of heaven and earth.

A myriad of wonders filled this place. True Phoenix Qi wreathed the entire palace complex, lending it an air of holiness and serenity. It was as though the main palace of the divine realm had descended here to suppress this place's fortune.

Before the towering palace stood a glowing jade pool. A few medicinal leaves floated in the water, breathing out rosy light and blooming with auspicious radiance. The place looked even more dreamlike, as though this were the dwelling of a divine being.

Above the palace, a True Phoenix formed of auspicious light circled ceaselessly, raising its head to cry out. Its clear, far-reaching call carried into the highest heavens.

The Witch walked up to the jade pool and stared at it, her eyes shining.

"Is this an immortal medicine pool?" The Witch's voice trembled.

Lei Chong hurried to the jade pool and looked at the translucent medicinal leaves within. His breathing grew ragged. This was a tremendous opportunity.

The pool had held immortal medicine. Though only a few leaves remained, they could let a person shed their mortal body and transform, and were immensely beneficial to cultivation.

The immortal medicine that had once been in the Phoenix Nest had long since fled this world.

Hum!

As the two marveled, the space around them rippled. The formation's light barrier flickered repeatedly; it had clearly been opened again.

"Not good, they'll be up here soon! Hurry and put away the medicinal liquid in this pool. Getting the True Phoenix Precious Technique comes first," the Witch urged anxiously.

As she spoke, she took out a precious bottle and began collecting it.

This immortal medicinal liquid was extraordinarily precious. Even someone with only one breath left could recover with its help, and might even reach a higher level.

Lei Chong took out a small cauldron and collected the immortal medicinal liquid.

He had obtained this small cauldron from the Kunpeng Nest. It was a spatial-type artifact, and though it looked incredibly small, it could hold a great lake's worth of water.

The medicinal liquid before them was not even enough to fill the bottom of the cauldron.

After putting away the precious liquid, the two entered the palace. Its interior was vast, as though it contained a starry sky. It was truly boundless.

Mists filled the hall, though they reached only to their knees. It was like entering an immortal palace. Deep inside stood a huge altar, with several illusory True Phoenix figures circling above it.

That was True Phoenix flame, which could help weapons undergo nirvana.

Both of them rushed to the altar and examined it carefully from all sides.

Lei Chong opened his Heavenly Eye and swept his gaze over the Phoenix flames on the altar. Some weapon fragments floated on the altar within the Phoenix figures.

They belonged to a Phoenix-Winged Gilded Tang, now broken into several pieces.

Such a terrifying weapon had been smashed to this state in the battle of the Immortal Ancient. One could imagine just what kind of attack the True Phoenix had suffered back then.

Moreover, nirvana flames surrounded it, yet it still had not recovered.

"What is that?" The Witch pointed to a spot on the altar.

Lei Chong followed her finger and saw a fist-sized piece of metal.

A special pattern marked the metal, identical to the form of a True Phoenix.

"It's Phoenix Blood Immortal Gold." Lei Chong recognized it at once.

"Such a large piece of immortal gold?" The Witch's eyes lit up. A fist-sized piece of immortal gold was definitely a great haul.

That was not all. Beside the piece of immortal gold were several crimson stones, streaked with traces of blood and still giving off a terrifying heat.

Those were all Phoenix Blood Stones, materials on the level of rare treasures. They could not only be used to forge artifacts, but also to lay down formations and more.

Lei Chong, however, did not rush to seize the materials. Instead, he fixed his gaze on the fragments.

In a flash of inspiration, Lei Chong moved both hands through the air. Runes gathered one after another, appearing between his arms.

The illusory runes swiftly gathered, forming Phoenix wings on his arms.

Hum!

The Phoenix-Winged Gilded Tang hummed softly, its pieces converging toward Lei Chong's arms.

"What's going on? Why is the Phoenix-Winged Gilded Tang flying toward you? What technique are you using?" The Witch's mouth fell open in surprise.

Lei Chong had no way to answer her. He was busy executing the Phoenix Wing Slash.

Hiss!

The piece of Phoenix Blood Immortal Gold flew up from the altar and floated beside the Phoenix-Winged Gilded Tang.

Under the heat of the True Phoenix flame, it melted into a translucent liquid metal.

At the same time, several Phoenix Blood Stones flew up from the ground and merged into the translucent liquid.

Hum!

The translucent liquid came to a full boil, transforming into a brilliant mass of light that finally merged into the fragments of the Phoenix-Winged Gilded Tang.

The fragments gathered, beginning to fuse into one. The weapon was repairing itself, seeking to be reborn from the flames here.

Perhaps the True Phoenix had long since prepared everything, with only this final step left.

Perhaps his injuries had been too severe, leaving him unable to act.

Or perhaps there had been something more important, more important than repairing this weapon.

The weapon was repairing itself and no longer needed Lei Chong's help.

Lei Chong breathed a sigh of relief and answered the Witch's earlier question. "I stumbled into this by accident. I didn't expect it to have this effect. I wonder if the weapon will be usable by me once it's repaired."

"Why are you daydreaming?" The Witch rolled her eyes.

"It's not impossible. Perhaps I can use it to save my life in a crisis." Lei Chong had thought of Heavenly Desolation, so naturally he had such a plan.

Even if he could not make it fully his to use, he could still use it to save his life at a critical moment.

The Witch did not argue with him. She knew how proud such supreme treasures were at heart. How could they let themselves be wielded by a minor cultivator?

Unless some special opportunity allowed one to gain the true acknowledgment of these supreme treasures.

"Let's collect the materials first. Those gods will be up here soon, and we need to find a path as quickly as possible." The Witch surveyed their surroundings.

The hall had only one doorway, and they still had not found the True Phoenix Precious Technique. They had to get moving as soon as possible.

Neither of them stood on ceremony. They hurried to collect the materials.

Just then, several terrifying presences approached, and several figures charged into the hall. They were the gods from below the mountain; they had reached the palace.

The people entering the hall trembled all over from excitement. They had entered the True Phoenix Nest, and might rise to prominence because of it.

They quickly swept their gazes across the hall and spotted the two by the altar.

"It's those two. What's that in front of them? Could it be the True Phoenix's rune bone?" The green-haired Demon Spider's eyes lit up.

"Who cares what it is? Let's snatch it first," a monk said. Golden light radiated from his entire body, and he stood more than ten feet tall, as though forged from a mass of divine gold.

The others said nothing, but their eyes were utterly cold.

Boom!

The group attacked, enormous palms slamming forward.

Their terrifying might shook the hall, making it rumble.

Hum!

Before Lei Chong could act, the Phoenix-Winged Gilded Tang trembled. Terrifying fluctuations spread outward, shaking the giant hands back.

Their expressions changed at the same time, and they stared at the two with grave eyes.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The sound of figures cutting through the air came from outside the hall. The remaining Venerables entered, including a group of Venerables from the Heaven Severing Sect.

"Holy Maiden, are you all right?" an elder of the Heaven Severing Sect asked.

"I'm fine," the Witch said.

Hum!

Before they could say anything more, the Phoenix-Winged Gilded Tang continued to tremble. A faint glow of fire appeared, opening a rift in the air above.
