Prism Shadow
Su Ming and Zijin quickly traversed the forest.
The branches and leaves were whipped apart by the air currents created by the two people, and the thin mist in the forest tore apart to both sides.
"Dispatch center, where is target number five?" Su Ming asked.
A response came quickly through the earpiece.
"Sorry, we've tried everything, but we can't find it."
The staff at the satellite control center sounded visibly helpless.
Engineers on Earth had already intervened immediately, utilizing all available detection methods: heat sources, motion trajectories, optical detection—everything that could be used was employed.
But we are powerless against such small, semi-illusory targets.
Taiye to Su Ming's side.
She sensed the ripples spreading outwards and shook her head as well.
Su Ming glanced back.
Behind Taiye followed a large cluster of lights—thousands of elite Fairy Guard. Leading them were the water fairy Lingmo, whom we had met before, and the earth fairy Limao; these two seemed to be among the best of the fairies.
Women make up about two-thirds of the fairy race, and the same proportion exists in the guard.
But the appearance of these fairies at this moment was completely different from the timid, soft, and even somewhat silly state that Su Ming had seen before.
All the fairies had serious expressions, their small bodies hovering in the forest, exuding a chilling aura of impending battle.
Taiye waved her little hand, "Everyone, spread out and search!"
All the fairies obeyed the command and immediately spread out in all directions.
Thousands of points of light pierced through the tree canopy, grass, and vines, spreading like a tide into the depths of the forest.
Suddenly, a voice came from above.
"Is this the degenerate and inferior race of my Fairy Spirit Tribe, existing in this lower plane?"
Everyone looked up at the same time, and there was a fairy spirit floating in the tree canopy.
She appeared considerably larger, and her body was more solid. Six translucent wings unfurled behind her, their surfaces shimmering with fine, flowing light patterns.
She looked down at the crowd, her eyes filled with contempt. "So weak and ugly."
Zijin shook her head.
"It's just an illusion; her vital signs aren't there."
The ethereal phantoms in the sky indeed vanished.
"A person with the ability to grasp the concept of life?"
Her voice began to come from all directions, as if hidden behind every leaf.
Su Ming looked at Zijin, "Can you find the location?"
Zijin closed her eyes and sensed for a moment, then shook her head.
"The life processes in the forest are too varied and chaotic; I can't grasp its key characteristics."
"Fairy spirits are semi-illusory beings, and their Psionic Power reactions are easily confused with those of plants, making them particularly suitable for hiding in forests," Taiye explained.
This is a place suitable for fairies to live in, and naturally, it's also suitable for immortals to fight.
**** "but--"
Taiye suddenly changed the subject.
"We fairies play hide-and-seek every day!"
Before she could finish speaking, a ball of fire suddenly exploded not far away.
Several large trees were shaken by the shockwave, their branches and leaves flying everywhere, and a flash of fire disappeared in the forest.
Clearly, a fairy has spotted the target.
Taiye's body instantly became ethereal, disappearing directly into a large tree beside him.
A green light flashed along the tree trunk.
The next moment, she emerged from another tree in the distance and went straight to the scene of the incident.
Sure enough, enemy spirits appeared there.
With a "poof," the water sprite Lingmo also emerged from a nearby cloud of water vapor.
A flash of yellow light appeared on the ground, and the figure of the earth sprite, Limao, materialized. Without hesitation, the three sprites launched a self-destruct attack. Their entire bodies shone brightly as their most powerful magic rapidly coalesced.
The enemy is at the Destiny Level, with a huge difference in rank.
Rather than waiting to be killed by the enemy, it's better to risk your life!
Even Su Ming, seeing the originally gentle and soft fairy turn into a terrorist in a fight, truly understood why no one from the outside world dared to set foot in such a large forest.
Prism Shadow this, Lingying clapped her hands lightly.
A transparent wave spread out, freezing the nearby fairies in mid-air.
Magic Power stopped, elements solidified, and the three fairies' spells were forcibly aborted.
"I am the Immortal Spirit Prism Shadow, and you are my ancestors!"
A red light appeared in Prism Shadow's eyes, and his voice carried a sense of oppressive power.
"Not only do you refuse to kneel and submit, but you dare to defy your superiors!"
Taiye spat.
"Nothing but a lackey of a false god!" (This last part appears to be a website name or title and doesn't translate directly. It's likely a result of a machine translation error.)
"We don't acknowledge you as a fairy!"
Prism Shadow frowned; the will and fighting spirit of these fairies were completely unaffected by her mental pressure.
More fairies flocked to the scene.
They showed no intention of testing; as soon as they approached, the elemental radiance on their bodies began to expand violently.
His will was filled with a desperate struggle.
Prism Shadow frowned slightly, and its six wings unfurled slightly behind it, causing the halo to spread even wider, completely covering the charging fairies.
All the fairies were frozen in place.
The energy surging within them, preparing to self-destruct and cast spells, began to be stripped away, turning into tiny fragments that dissipated.
Fairies with strong self-control are alright, but their radiance has dimmed somewhat.
But the more ordinary the fairy, the greater the loss.
Taiye glanced at it, and her expression immediately changed. The scattered specks of light actually hovered in mid-air before converging towards the location of the Prism Shadow.
She is absorbing the power of fairies!
****
Hundreds of magical arrows, a mixture of light and darkness, hurtled towards them, but Prism Shadow dodged them with a swift movement.
Su Ming and Zijin arrived.
Prism Shadow instinctively raised its hand to retaliate, but stopped abruptly.
She looked at Zijin, her red eyes narrowing slightly.
"If I attack you directly, I'll suffer real damage backlash." Prism Shadow realized.
The fairy's small frame couldn't withstand such real injury.
If she touches the Zijin, she's doomed.
"You can hit me!" Su Ming lashed out with his long whip.
The long whip tore through the air, lashing towards the location of Prism Shadow, snapping large leaves in half with the force of the wind. Prism Shadow swayed, dodging once more.
Su Ming frowned inwardly; such a small, exceptionally agile target was very difficult to hit.
As for wide-area damage spells, given the difference in rank between the Destiny Level and them, it's obvious even to a fool that they're not strong enough.
"I won't fall for that!" Prism Shadow distanced herself. "What do we do about this slut trying to scam us?"
As Prism Shadow departed, the fairies broke free from their confinement.
The light that had been shining on them quickly subsided, and they voluntarily withdrew from their self-destruct state.
Taiye waved its hand.
All the fairies immediately scattered in all directions, transforming into streams of light of various colors, and broke away from the main battlefield.
She flew to Su Ming's side, her face showing obvious guilt.
"Sorry, Prism Shadow is draining our power."
"We've made things worse."
The dignified fairy race was utterly defeated when faced with an enemy invading their homeland. "It's a bloodline suppression, you can't blame yourselves," said Zijin.
Taiye suddenly thought of something.
"No, it's not that I can't help!"
She issued new instructions, Taiye herself merged into the large tree beside her, leaving the battlefield.
****
In mid-air, Prism Shadow frowned slightly.
Despite being a noble Fairy Spirit Tribe, she was inferior to these degenerate demons, unable to use such a stealth technique.
This made her very unhappy.
However, as a semi-phantom being, her movement speed is also quite fast.
The Prism Shadow left a phantom image in place before its true form instantly became transparent and chased after the "food" once more.
The dimensional fall just now had caused her considerable harm.
She needed to replenish herself, she needed to eat more! More importantly, the feeling of devouring gave her immense pleasure.
In Eden, she couldn't do such things to other fairies, but in Taya, she could indulge herself to her heart's content with these inferior fairies.
For a fleeting moment, she even seemed to experience Jörmungandr of superiority and the pleasure of having everything at his fingertips.
A burst of silver light rippled out from above, and the Prism Shadow, transparent figure was tinged with a layer of black luster.
That's the light representing an alignment: Neutral Evil.
Prism Shadow up and, sure enough, saw a unicorn descending from the sky.
"Whoa, in this auspicious beast's sight, your evil aura is quite dazzling!"
Qiluo's voice was filled with smugness.
The entire forest, including the trees and fairies, was almost entirely bathed in a neutral, transparent glow.
Even if the light of the faction itself is not strong, Prism Shadow stands out from the crowd, with no possibility of being hidden.
Prism Shadow nearly coughed up blood.
She never expected that her illusion ability would be countered in this way! She hesitated for a moment, but did not launch a counterattack immediately. Instead, she continued to fly forward.
Since we can't hide it, then we won't hide it anymore.
The Prism Shadow simply unleashed its absorption capacity, and wherever it passed, plants withered and died.
Leaves curled, vines drooped. Pale green light drifted up from all directions, merging into her body.
Even without absorbing the power of fairies, as a celestial being, her power can be quickly restored in this forest!
****
Qiluo landed beside the two of them.
She glanced at the silver aura on Su Ming's body that represented neutral goodness, and pouted sadly.
"Su Ming, you're not fair-skinned anymore!"
"Not bad," Su Ming said irritably. "With so much blood on it, I thought it would have gotten darker by now."
They chased after Prism Shadow, but the distance between them was widening.
Physical beings can't fly as fast as illusory beings. Su Ming quickly considered a solution, but then noticed that the numerous ripples in the air suddenly became denser.
The fairies who had escaped to the outer perimeter had somehow formed a huge circle.
They are connected to each other little by little through the natural network of the forest.
A large barrier is taking shape.
Prism Shadow frowned; she realized her speed was decreasing, and her energy absorption rate was also getting slower and slower.
Wrong!
Prism Shadow quickly discovered the source of the anomaly—the more power she drew from the forest, the more magical threads wrapped around her!
Those lines weren't strong.
A single one is not even worth mentioning.
But when thousands upon thousands of threads coiled around her at the same time, it was as if the entire forest was holding back her wings, and they quickly resonated with the forming barrier, becoming a unified whole.
"What is this?" Prism Shadow asked in surprise.
"Punishment Sealing Domain," came Taiye's voice from the forest, answering her question.
"Our great ancestors, we, their worthless descendants, have learned not only to self-destruct but also to rely on the strength of the collective!"
Her voice carried a hint of sarcasm.
Please enjoy your experience!
Prism Shadow immediately attempted to break through.
But she soon discovered that, in addition to the elite of the Fairy Guard, many more ordinary fairies had also gathered from all over the forest and joined the "Punishment Sealing Domain".
The barrier became increasingly solid, and the originally loose lines gradually transformed into a giant net covering the surrounding forest.
Prism Shadow launched an attack in anger.
She blasted a barrier area, sending a hundred fairies flying and dimming their light.
But in an instant, this weak area was filled by the new fairies that had gathered, and the light shone again.
"Damn it!" Prism Shadow gritted his teeth in anger.
Is this still a fairy spirit? It's practically turned into wasps! They'll fight to the death at the slightest provocation, and if one can't defeat them, a whole swarm will attack!
Prism Shadow assessed the current situation: the illusion was broken, her speed was limited, and she dared not absorb the power of the forest at will.
All three of their advantages were suppressed at the same time.
Su Ming and Zijin surrounded them, unleashing a barrage of energy attacks.
They didn't even have shields up, clearly taking advantage of Prism Shadow's inability to attack them right now.
Of course, only Zijin possesses absolute counter-damage.
But the Zijin can shield the other two!
Prism Shadow's attack would at most kill Zijin Half to Death; Violet herself would be completely annihilated.
****
Prism Shadow suddenly stopped flying and turned to face Su Ming.
The rain of magic arrows struck her shield with muffled thuds.
"Do you really think that as a powerful expert at the Heavenly Destiny Level, I am no match for you?!" Prism Shadow's voice was cold and sharp.
"It's just that the power of Destiny Level cannot be replenished in this dilapidated, low-magic world, so I want to conserve some."
A red light shone in her eyes.
"But since you insist on a swift death—"
Prism Shadow raised his hand.
"Then I'll grant your wish!"
The next moment, the entire forest fell silent.
The sound of the wind disappeared.
The chirping of insects disappeared.
Even the soft rustling of leaves seemed to be erased from the world by some force.
Countless tiny, shimmering reflections appeared in the air.
At first, there were only a few pieces, like shattered crystals suspended in mid-air. Then, more and more mirrored light appeared, spreading out layer upon layer, cutting tree trunks, branches, leaves, rocks, and streams into countless reflections. Domain: "Mirror Flower - Reflection!"
Su Ming's feet suddenly sank, and when he looked down, he found himself standing in a layer of shimmering water.
The shimmering water is its own reflection, and it too is raising its head to look at itself.
The silver light on Qiluo's body flashed intensely, and her four hooves, which were standing in mid-air, cast the shadow of a black and white unicorn.
The life radiance surrounding the Zijin was stretched by the mirror, forming concentric, distorted ripples.
