Background / History

Tang San seeks to rebuild the Tang Sect and initially shares the Mysterious Heaven Skill with Gula after receiving unusual kindness and support from him. He is loyal to his family and determined to become strong enough to support them. 2

His father, Tang Hao, trains him after recognizing the potential of Tang San's Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer. Tang Hao also intends to find medicinal herbs to compensate for Tang San's poor childhood nutrition and strengthen his cultivation foundation. 3 6

At Nuoding Academy, Tang San remains guarded around Yu Xiaogang, refusing to disclose the full truth of his Martial Souls despite Yu Xiaogang's attempts to guide his cultivation toward poison-based soul rings. 11 12

Appearance

Tang San can summon a pitch-black iron hammer roughly as long as his forearm; its weight is sufficient to leave a crater when dropped. 6

  • Possesses Blue Silver Grass as a Martial Soul.
  • Possesses the Clear Sky Hammer as his Second Martial Soul. 6
  • His Blue Silver Grass later develops a Light Attribute. 91

Personality

Tang San is earnest, disciplined, and strongly motivated by his goal of restoring the Tang Sect. Though he initially feels guilt over deceiving Gula about the origin of the Mysterious Heaven Skill, he maintains his composure and commits to their cooperation. 2

He is cautious with strangers and does not readily expose his secrets, particularly regarding his Twin Martial Souls. 11 12 In combat and training, he is determined and competitive; after losing badly to Gula, he gains confidence from learning of his Second Martial Soul's potential. 7 8

Tang San is also adaptable. When his Blue Silver Grass fails to complete its evolution, he controls his disappointment and continues cultivating rather than becoming consumed by frustration. 91
