Background

Lancelot served King Arthur as the First Knight of the Round Table. His relationship with Queen Guinevere became a source of guilt that persisted after his death 11 43.

Summoned as Berserker in the Holy Grail War, he initially loses his reason and speaks in roars. He attacks Diarmuid Ua Duibhne during a battle at the docks; Diarmuid struggles to pierce Lancelot’s armor or match his swordsmanship 11 38. Jizi later allies with Lancelot and his Master, Kariya Matou, then creates a Calm Amulet that restores Lancelot’s sanity 35 39.

In battle, Lancelot appears as a tall black knight surrounded by dark mist 11 34.

He wants Arthur to understand that his guilt over Guinevere is his own, not something her wish should erase. He rejects her desire to undo her kingship, arguing that her existence gave meaning to the knights, Camelot, and Britain 43.
