Background / History

Xiao Cha first met Luo Bei in the mountains near Shushan. She gave him only her name and demonstrated an affinity with vegetation, using green light to animate vines. Luo Bei later refined the Wu Qiu Inner Core that she had given him, while Xiao Cha brought him the newly hatched Little Wu Qiu. 62 63 64

While living in a hidden valley on Tiancang Peak, Xiao Cha revealed that she was a Flower Spirit whose true form was a camellia. Unlike many spirits, she had no Inner Core and could naturally cultivate a human form. Having rarely spoken to anyone before meeting Luo Bei, she initially stuttered and knew little of human customs or emotions. 65

Her wish was to see the world beyond Shushan. When she and Little Wu Qiu fled, Luo Bei drew Shushan's pursuers away so that she could escape. Upon reaching the outside world, Xiao Cha was overwhelmed by its vastness and warmth, but intended to return and clear Luo Bei's name before Duan Tianya intercepted her. 85 86

After leaving Shushan, she and Little Wu Qiu lived in a valley and built a treehouse. When the badly injured Luo Bei found them again, Xiao Cha used fruits from the Heavenly Hemp Tree to help his recovery and declared that she would follow him wherever he went. 222

Xiao Cha later became entangled with Yun Hezi, who had once saved her life and used the resulting debt to pressure her into becoming his Dao companion. She repeatedly refused him, but was captured alongside Luo Bei during his schemes. 223 225

After Nan Liyue abducted her, Xiao Cha was found unconscious with Black Flame Gu in her body. Shi Jian brought her to Cihang Zhai, where Ming Ruo allowed Yun Yuan, Yan Hong, and Bi Yao to risk their Blood Essence to purge the poison. The treatment also exposed an Attached Heart Demon hidden within her. 240 241

As a demonic seed, she became cold, calculating, and bloodthirsty; former friends became potential “blood meals” for strengthening her blood pool. The Flower Cult's Four Great Dharma Kings tracked Xiao Cha to Fengdu Mountain and trapped her in an array powered by refined gold and Black Fiend Fire Qi. Cai Shu intervened to spare her, but Xiao Cha attempted to use Cai Shu's allies as blood fuel to escape. 398 400 405
