Background / History
Hibiki’s abilities are shared across his main body and clones: magic, superpowers, physical traits, and acquired knowledge can benefit all of them. His early clones gained a Wizard bloodline, enhanced magic power and reactions, physical strength, and electromagnetic abilities respectively. 2 192
He initially developed magic through self-study in the Harry Potter world, prioritizing practical spells that could help his Marvel-world body escape confinement. He learned that wands improve casting speed and power, though skilled wizards can cast without them. 2 8
After inhabiting Misaka Clone No. 9981, Hibiki objected to being placed in a female body and adopted a masculine presentation, eventually calling himself “Brother Misaka.” The clone’s electromagnetic knowledge and powers merged with his existing Magnetism Control, sharply improving his abilities. 191 251
He later learned from Shirley Cromwell’s memories that magic and Academy City-style esper powers normally conflict. His own magic remained compatible because it originates from his Wizard bloodline and external-energy meditation rather than refining life force. 250 251
Appearance
Hibiki’s Misaka Clone No. 9981 body resembles Misaka Mikoto: a fourteen-year-old girl originally dressed in a short-skirted school uniform. He prefers male clothing and is frequently mistaken for Mikoto. 191 252
- Dresses as a boy despite inhabiting a female clone body. 251 252
- Is physically identical in appearance to Misaka Mikoto, leading to repeated confusion. 252
- Can use Mimicry Transformation Magic and Giant Magic to alter his combat capabilities. 199 225
Personality
Hibiki is pragmatic and highly strategic. He prioritizes abilities, knowledge, and preparations that offer immediate advantages, such as learning the Locking Charm to escape a laboratory or studying Accelerator’s defenses before engaging him. 8 195
He does not consider himself strongly driven by justice and generally evaluates whether aiding others offers sufficient value. Nevertheless, he helps injured S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, protects Superpower Academy, saves Index and Uiharu, and works with Misaka Mikoto against Accelerator. 115 195 227 251
He also displays a playful streak, responding to Shirai Kuroko’s curiosity with an electric shock and correcting Index’s “Sister Misaka” to “Brother Misaka.” 252
Abilities & Skills
Shared Clone Ability
Hibiki shares abilities, magical knowledge, and physical enhancements between his main body and clones.
- A clone’s acquired abilities strengthen every other clone and his main body. 2 192
- His Wizard bloodline, magic-cat traits, panda physique, and Misaka Clone electromagnetic abilities have accumulated together. 192
- Later world-assimilation progress by one clone also enhanced the others. 691
Magnetism Control and Electromagnetism
His original Magnetism Control merged with Misaka Clone No. 9981’s Level 2 electromagnetic ability, producing Level 4 output and broadening his technical applications. 191
- Controls metal, commonly using blades and needles for surprise attacks. 191
- Deflects sniper bullets. 47
- Releases high-voltage electricity and electromagnetic effects. 191
- Uses coin-flicking railgun techniques. 191
- Can strengthen his body with electrical stimulation beyond the limits of an ordinary human due to his layered physique. 199
- Later reaches magnetic control comparable to elderly film-version Magneto. 585
Psychic Abilities and Legilimency
Hibiki possesses psychic powers inherited from Professor X and combines them with Legilimency.
- Early psychic ability allowed communication with and behavioral influence over simple animals. 8
- Can perceive his surroundings without relying on sight. 198
- Reads memories by combining telepathy and Legilimency. 250
- His psychic power later reaches Professor X’s peak level through magical development. 585
Spellcasting
Hibiki studies and combines magic from multiple worlds, using his own internal magical power rather than relying on dimensional entities. 2 130 503
- Mastered all First Year spells and learned additional magic beyond the curriculum. 47
- Learned dozens of spells, including Giant Magic and Light Magic. 80
- Uses Tracking Charms, Muggle-Repelling Charms, Loyalty Charms, Healing Magic, and Runic Barriers. 72 115 227
- Uses Requip Magic alongside the Untraceable Extension Charm to store people and large quantities of items in a secure personal space. 130
- Can employ Imperius Curse to disable an opponent’s defenses. 197
- Uses Mimicry Transformation Magic on large metal objects when supported by a powerful wand. 225
- Learns Kabbalah Art from Shirley Cromwell’s memories and creates a stone giant while practicing outside Academy City. 251 252
Wand Crafting and Enhancement
Hibiki considers a wand essential because it improves both spellcasting speed and magical output. 72
- A wand can at least double his strength. 72
- His Fairy Tail-world wand provides more than twentyfold magical amplification. 169
- His Marvel-world wand initially performed poorly due to a Phoenix-hair core lacking the Phoenix Force’s blessing. 115
- A later wand enabled large-scale Mimicry Transformation Magic and amplified his power by over twenty times. 225
Combat Analysis
Hibiki studies opponents’ mechanics and exploits weaknesses rather than relying solely on raw force.
- Identified that Accelerator’s Vector Control depended on perception and could be bypassed by undetectable magical effects. 195
- Coordinated with Misaka Mikoto, then used Imperius Curse and iron-sand wires to neutralize Accelerator. 197
- Avoids openly displaying magic in Academy City when doing so would expose his identity as more than a mutated Misaka clone. 198
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Wands — increase casting speed and magical power; different worlds’ wands provide different amplification levels. 72 115 169
- Magic ring — provides roughly threefold magic amplification. 169
- Wind Chant Glasses — allows his clones’ brains to operate together for rapid memorization of spellbooks. 290
- Mjolnir-adjacent iron sand wires — used to bind Accelerator after disabling his reflection. 197
Relationships
- Misaka Mikoto — Original template of the Misaka clones; cooperates with Hibiki against Accelerator and recognizes him as Clone No. 9981. 195 197 252
- Shirai Kuroko — Initially mistakes him for Mikoto; Hibiki shocks her with electricity after her approach. 252
- Index — Saved by Hibiki; addresses him as “Sister Mikoto,” prompting his correction to “Brother Misaka.” 251
- Kazari Uiharu — Saved alongside Index and thanks Hibiki. 251
- Shirley Cromwell — Hibiki reads her memories, gaining information on the local magic system and Kabbalah Art. 250 251
- Professor X — Source of Hibiki’s psychic abilities; works with Hibiki at Superpower Academy. 8 227
- Wolverine — Ally who accompanies Hibiki in missions involving Tony Stark and the academy’s defense. 72 80
- Tony Stark — Potential technological partner; Hibiki seeks his assistance in creating improved wands. 80
- Black Widow — Requests his aid for injured S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, whom he heals. 227
Story Role / Major Arcs

Academy City and the Misaka Clone Incident
After inhabiting Misaka Clone No. 9981, Hibiki’s electromagnetic abilities rise to Level 4. He investigates Accelerator’s Vector Control, coordinates with Misaka Mikoto, and defeats Accelerator by using Imperius Curse to disable his reflection before binding him with iron-sand wires. 191 195 197
Magic–Science World Conflict
Hibiki discovers from Shirley Cromwell that conventional magic and esper powers cannot coexist in one person. His unusual source of magic power lets him avoid that limitation, allowing him to pursue both systems while planning a future Level 5 advancement. 251

Trivia
- Hibiki has inhabited bodies including an eleven-year-old boy, a magic cat, a giant panda, and Misaka Clone No. 9981. 191
