History
Li Xinghe saved the Phoenix Clan when Qiongqi attacked Immortality Volcano. Acting in Pangu's name, he appointed the clan commander of the avian lineage. Yuan Feng then vowed to lead the birds against the Fierce Beasts, bringing Heavenly Dao Merit to her clan 13. After the calamity, the Phoenix Clan, Dragon Clan, and Qilin Race became the Primordial World's three most powerful races 18.
The clan initially tried to stay out of the Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation. Luohu instead incited the Dragon Clan to attack other avian races, whose survivors sought refuge at Immortality Volcano. Yuan Feng admitted them and brought the Phoenix Clan into the war 28. The conflict became a three-way melee after Beginning Qilin turned against her. Xuan Ming, Houtu, Qiankun, and Five Elements helped protect the Phoenix forces 34.
Only one or two tenths of the clan's strength remained when the tribulation ended. Yuan Feng swore to seal Immortality Volcano and abandon the struggle for supremacy 37. During seclusion, the clan recovered substantial strength, though Yuan Feng believed another bid for dominance would repeat the fate of the Dragon and Qilin races 67.
The Heavenly Court later sought the Phoenix Clan as an ally against the Witch Clan. Tai Yi forced his way into Immortality Volcano, injured clan members, and was defeated by Yuan Feng 83 84. Di Jun and Tai Yi then attempted to destroy the clan and seize her Hongmeng Measuring Ruler, but their attack failed. Yuan Feng publicly declared the Phoenix Clan's return to the Primordial World 85 87.
The clan was subsequently enfeoffed as one of the Four Sacred Beasts guarding Human Race territories. Its connection to the Human Race's destiny aided its recovery 178 226.

Phoenix Fire
- Phoenix clan members wield fire; Yuan Feng's Phoenix form and Phoenix Staff can unleash flames over Immortality Volcano 83 84.
- Their fire surpasses that of Golden Crows in Yuan Feng's confrontation with Tai Yi, but her Phoenix Staff cannot break the Chaos Bell's defense 84.
Nirvana
- Yuan Feng describes the clan as possessing immortality and the ability to be reborn through nirvana. These powers do not prevent the clan's severe losses in the Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation 26 37.
Great Zhou Heavenly Star Dou Formation
