Ye Chen is Laozi's disciple and a transmigrator whose knowledge of the Primordial World's expected trajectory initially informs his pursuit of power. He privately acquires the Ancestral Dragon Pearl, gains the Four Seas Dragon Kings' recognition, and becomes the Dragon Emperor; he conceals this from even the Three Pure Ones while seeking to siphon the Demon Clan's destiny through cooperation. 73

He first pursues the Twenty-Four Sea-Calming Pearls by force, attempting to kill Zhao Gongming before Tongtian intervenes. The pearls are then taken by the Shadow Daoist, later identified as Li Xinghe's clone. 45 Ye Chen subsequently loses the opportunity to obtain the Innate Gourd Vine and Nine Heavens Breathing Soil when Li Xinghe intercepts them, deepening their rivalry. 65
