Background / History
Kikka You and Ryuseki were childhood friends, classmates, and desk mates. She hoped that his invitation to White Love Lake Park would make their relationship official. Before leaving home for their outing, she reflected fondly on her dependence on her mother, who usually saw her off at the door. 2
During their visit to White Love Lake Park, Kikka enjoyed horseback riding, boating, making wishes beneath the White Love Tree, and watching the park's romance-themed circus. She bought a clay bird whistle and cotton candy before leaving the park with Ryuseki. 2
While crossing the street at a green pedestrian signal, Kikka was deliberately struck by a silver-white car that ran a red light. Ryuseki carried her to the hospital after bystanders refused to help. Despite severe injuries and blood loss, Kikka tried to reassure him, wiped away his tears, and gave him her bird whistle before being taken into surgery. 3
Kikka died less than an hour later from massive blood loss and organ failure. Her death devastated Ryuseki and her mother, who initially blamed Ryuseki for the accident. 4 5
At her funeral, Kikka's spirit tried to stop Ryuseki from leaving and embraced him, though he could neither see nor feel her. She continued to remain beside him during his daily visits to her grave. 6 Her family later moved away and relocated her grave; her classmates were told only that she had transferred schools. 9 17
Lin Yingbin suspected that Kikka's death had been part of a conspiracy targeting Ryuseki. This was later supported when one of Zhi's attackers confirmed that their group had killed her. 8 28
