Background / History
Emma Frost grew up under a cold-hearted businessman father and a mother dependent on psychiatric medication. After a tearful farewell to her brother, she left home to make her own path, eventually becoming the White Queen of the Hellfire Club and Sebastian Shaw's right hand. 31
While aboard the Casperdina, she used telepathy to read Erik Lehnsherr's intent to assassinate Shaw. When the ship was destroyed, Shaw and Havok escaped by submarine and abandoned her in the sea. 30 323
As she faced defeat in the water, Su Quan offered her rescue. She accepted his hand and was taken to the “New World,” beginning her service under him. 31 32
Appearance
Emma is a blonde woman strongly associated with white clothing. She first appears in a white dress and boots, while later appearances place her in a close-fitting white uniform and cape. 30 324

- White dress, boots, uniform, and cape. 30 324
- Her Diamond Form renders her body as a sharply defined, crystal-like diamond figure. 30 345
Personality
Emma is resilient and self-directed, having left an oppressive home life to build a position of power within the Hellfire Club. Shaw's abandonment becomes the turning point that makes Su Quan's intervention—and the new life he offers—meaningful to her. 31 32
She is assertive when challenged, refusing to tolerate Carol Danvers' disrespect and meeting Carol's attack head-on in Diamond Form. 241 242
As Su Quan's subordinate, Emma is highly proactive. She independently restructures the Red Room, intercepts valuable research, develops Nato Tong's intelligence assets, and repeatedly seeks out additional mutants and enhanced individuals. 257 309 319
