Bai Ye entered Qingyun Sect as a disciple of Dazhu Peak under Tian Buyi. Initially criticized for lateness and apparently ordinary aptitude, he distinguished himself through extraordinary comprehension: he drew in spiritual energy on his first day learning the Taiji Xuanqing Dao, then reached its first layer in two days. 2 3 4
