Better to shatter than surrender

A week passed quickly, and Kraft returned to Pym Technologies with his three younger sisters.

Darren Cross's second presentation had drawn at least three times as many invited guests as the first, and Kraft spotted quite a few people he knew among them.

One was Bruce Banner's father-in-law, General Ross.

To his surprise, after several years out of sight, the hawkish old man hadn't been stripped of his position over the Hulk and Abomination affair. Instead, he was doing even better. His rank hadn't changed, but he'd picked up several additional posts.

There was also that fat man Wilson Fisk, better known as Kingpin, Mr. Negative's fellow crime boss.

After Mr. Negative had thoroughly thrashed him, he discovered that Martin Lee had stopped encroaching on Hell's Kitchen. Since then, he had occasionally sent Kraft and Alice little gifts and offered all sorts of preferential treatment to the Chinese residents of Hell's Kitchen.

Besides them, there were several prominent business owners and leading scientists whom Kraft had met a few times before, though he couldn't really call them acquaintances.

"Kid, over here."

Tony Stark had actually come to this presentation too. After greeting Kraft, he moved over to Alice and the others.

"You're really wasting your talent, kid!"

Stark examined Alice and the others closely, making the shy Alice hide behind Kraft, and clicked his tongue as he complained.

"What's the point of building lifelike robots like these? You'd be better off making something useful."

"Like Ultron?"

Angela immediately bristled and folded her arms, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"The problem with Ultron... was that I hadn't thought things through. It wasn't his fault."

Tony Stark sighed, his voice full of regret.

Something's off.

Although Tony Stark sounded sincere, Kraft still felt that something wasn't right.

*Uncle Tony isn't the sort
