As Alice was enjoying her new campus life, the events in Wakanda finally came to a close.
Wakanda had opened up a portion of its national technology to other countries and began offering Vibranium resources, though the price remained relatively high, it was at least no longer so difficult to obtain.
Meanwhile, the United Nations returned Prince T'Challa to Wakanda and lifted the economic and resource blockade. Major media outlets also began to spin the narrative to improve Wakanda's international image, making them less of a pariah. However, even so, many people still held negative opinions of Wakanda.
"After all that fuss, I still can't buy it!"
Kraft slammed his fist on the table. The reason he exposed Wakanda was not just because he couldn't stand it, but more importantly, he wanted a channel to purchase Vibranium from there.
Although Wakanda had now opened up Vibranium sales, it was targeted at various countries and large consortiums, and he had no way to get involved. Even Martin didn't have the qualifications to purchase Vibranium through official channels. The only private entities in America qualified to participate in Vibranium transactions were likely Stark Industries and the Osborn Group.
However, while Vibranium couldn't be obtained through official channels, it didn't mean other channels were impossible. Because Wakanda's information had been leaked, a large number of mercenaries and smuggling teams flooded into Africa, along with some ambitious local figures. Forget Vibranium, even small amounts of Wakandan technology could be acquired on the black market by paying people.
This was why Kraft had leaked the information. Once the floodgates opened, many things would no longer be under Wakanda's control.
When he realized he couldn't go through official channels, Kraft adopted Plan B: asking Martin Lee for help. With the underworld boss Mr. Negative making a move, he wasn't afraid of being double-crossed.
"Just 10 grams is enough?"
Martin Lee readily agreed to Kraft's request. After understanding his foster son's research capabilities, he wouldn't hinder Kraft's research; instead, he felt Kraft was asking for too little.
"What can you research with 10 grams of metal? I'll try to get you more!"
Martin Lee boasted. Although one gram of Vibranium cost ten thousand US dollars, was Martin Lee someone who lacked money? Even Kraft himself had enough money to buy Vibranium.
Kraft remained silent, then took a handgun-shaped flashlight from his backpack and pulled the trigger, aiming it at the small black cat, Bea, beside him.
Under the flashlight's beam, Bea, less than half a meter tall, was rapidly enlarged into a giant cat several times larger than a lion, scattering the surrounding furniture.
"Meow?"
Bea, who had been comfortably grooming herself on the sofa, looked at everything around her rapidly shrinking with a bewildered expression, her tongue still sticking out from grooming.
"Amazing! Big Brother, I want one too!"
Seeing Bea grow larger, Quinn's first thought was that his only advantage—his size—was gone. He placed his front paws on Kraft's leg, wagging his tail frantically.
"Go on, go on, why do you want everything?"
Kraft pushed away Quinn's doggy face and pressed another button on the flashlight, then pulled the trigger again at Bea.
Bea, who was curiously looking at the shrinking furniture, with her large paws itching to move, suddenly shrunk back to her original size.
Martin Lee's mouth hung open, and it took him a long time to close it.
"How... how did you do that?!"
"As I said, I'm not entirely sure." Kraft shrugged. "I just thought it might work and then I made it."
He hadn't expected that the short, stout, and lecherous Dr. Senbei Norimaki from his dreams could create such an incredible device!
This completely disregarded the physical law of conservation of energy. The objects illuminated by this freely transformable flashlight simply had their external shape enlarged; the internal molecular size, arrangement, and so on, remained the same. In other words, it was equivalent to creating a large amount of identical and stable matter out of thin air, and...
With no time limit!
Even more unscientific was that when he shone the light, it only enlarged the target he intended to enlarge. Any other objects illuminated by the light, as long as Kraft didn't intend to enlarge them, showed no reaction at all.
In short, it was much more effective than Gnome Tech's shrink ray gun and the World Magnifier.
With this freely transformable flashlight, the first thing Kraft thought of was saving a lot of time and cost in manufacturing materials in the future.
"Alright... in that case, 10 grams is indeed enough..."
Martin Lee swallowed, already somewhat accustomed to being shocked by Kraft's inventions time and again.
"I'll get the Vibranium for you as soon as possible."
"But..." After calming himself, Martin pointed helplessly at the messy living room, "Couldn't you have demonstrated with something smaller?"
"Ahaha... I just thought that using a living creature would be more impactful, wouldn't it?"
Kraft chuckled, scratching the back of his head.
"Yes, it was indeed impactful," Martin Lee agreed with a nod. "So, remember to tidy up the living room."
"Uh... I know..."
Kraft dejectedly acknowledged and began cleaning up the living room that Bea had messed up. Fortunately, with Alice's help, the two of them quickly finished cleaning.
Martin Lee, or rather, the Demon Gang, was very efficient. The 10 grams of Vibranium were quickly delivered to Kraft.
With the freely transformable flashlight, as long as there was a small amount of raw material, Kraft no longer had to worry about consumption. After testing the properties of Vibranium, he replaced all his equipment and the materials on Alice and Haro.
Of course, not all metals were suitable for replacement with Vibranium, but using Vibranium as a raw material and supported by the technology from his dreams, Kraft created many alloys with special properties. This not only strengthened his own equipment but also unlocked many engineering blueprints that had been stalled due to material limitations.
While Kraft was engrossed in tinkering with Vibranium, a major event occurred in the outside world.
Mr. Tony Stark, the owner of Stark Industries, a renowned scientist, billionaire, arms manufacturer, playboy, and media darling, was attacked by terrorists while demonstrating weapons in the Middle East and is currently missing.
The media, which had been feasting on the aftermath of the Wakanda incident, immediately found a new hot topic. Outside Stark Tower, seven out of ten people were reporters, and two were security guards responsible for order.
"Missing?"
Kraft clicked his tongue with a hint of regret. Although he didn't particularly like Tony Stark as a person, he greatly admired his achievements in scientific research.
Moreover, after he had previously sent Angela and Haro to pester that AI named Jarvis, Stark had been upgrading Jarvis from time to time and then went online to fight with Angela.
However, when artificial intelligence reaches the level of Angela and Jarvis, upgrades essentially just mean increasing computational capacity and speed.
Stark, being the wealthy man he is, must have poured an immense amount of hardware into Jarvis. After several network wars, Kraft was forced to add two more Umbrella-version supercomputers to back up Angela.
But Kraft wasn't without his gains either. While hardware upgrades increase computational capacity and speed, the clashes between the two AIs allowed them to optimize their own behavioral logic. At the very least, Angela is much more lively now than she was at the beginning.
This is also why Kraft accepted Stark's provocation earlier and why he now feels regret.
Kraft has no interest in rescuing Tony Stark, who is currently missing in the Middle East. Besides, it's not his place to rush into such a situation. At most, he regrets that Angela might lose a rival in the future.
