Background / History

Daren Yi is a transmigrator living in a modernized, prosperous Konoha. He worked as a toy designer from age thirteen and deliberately failed the Ninja Academy entrance examination, avoiding the obligations and scrutiny attached to becoming a registered ninja. His mother was an Uchiha who married outside the clan and left him prohibited Uchiha training materials, including genjutsu research. 1 2

He regained his past-life memories during the Nine-Tails’ Rampage. The disaster left him deeply traumatized; he later recognized that his mental state was worse than that of most survivors. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan awakened despite his lack of combat experience, reinforcing his fear that his own condition was abnormal. 2

Knowing the Uchiha Clan Downfall was coming, Daren Yi distanced himself from the Uchiha and fiercely opposed Izumi and her mother returning to the clan. This behavior led Konoha’s Security Force and leadership to classify him as someone hostile to the Uchiha. 2

He ultimately intervened during the massacre, saving Izumi from Root operatives. Their reunion prompted him to abandon his original plan to remain unnoticed, retaliate against Danzo, and begin acting openly as the Ancestor of Shamate. 3 4
