Background / History

The Adeptus Mechanicus first recognized Rorschach as an unknown Primarch after encountering him alongside Iron Man David. The revelation immediately drew alarm from the servo-skull Raditus, which treated both Rorschach’s nature and David’s presence as extraordinary threats. 126

Rorschach’s authority over the Great White Chapter became increasingly pronounced as his shadow power grew. The Great Whites, descendants of the Raven Guard, felt loyalty and affection toward him comparable to their reverence for Corvus Corax. 563

He consolidated his position on Triple Fahl by investigating suspected Chaos corruption, assigning the Great Whites to contain Forge Master Wesley if necessary, and sending Raven Guard forces to scour the forge world for hidden threats. After a Martian Archmagos demanded Triple Fahl’s STC templates and blueprints, Rorschach had Tyberus execute him; the local Archmagos subsequently recognized Rorschach as Triple Fahl’s true Forge Master. 667

Rorschach later formed the Primarch Legion by uniting several Astartes forces beneath his command. Tyberus became Lord of the Great White Great Company, Gabriel led the Blood Ravens Great Company, and Sulari commanded the Raven Guard Great Company. 698

Rorschach is a pragmatic commander who prioritizes strategic preparation, battlefield intelligence, and the protection of human worlds. He refused a costly military parade on Macragge because it would consume resources and delay the pilgrimage fleet to Terra. 726

He dislikes displays of personal worship, repeatedly stopping Astartes from kneeling before him despite their reverence for his Primarch status. 604 720 His tolerance for disrespect and political obstruction is limited, as demonstrated by his decisive removal of the Martian Archmagos who attempted to dictate Triple Fahl’s policies. 667

Despite describing himself as a “living tool” and “currency” of the Emperor, Rorschach retains his own judgment and emotions rather than offering unquestioning obedience. 374
