Background

Rorschach is a transmigrator who awakens in New York after merging with the memories of an ordinary orphaned boy of the same name. With no wealth, powers, or parents, he lives with the aunt who raised him and helps at her Chinese restaurant while saving for college. His fragmented knowledge of future superhero disasters—especially the Battle of New York—drives him to reinforce a basement shelter and stockpile food and water for them both 1.

His situation changes when the Warhammer Simulator transports him into simulated Warhammer 40,000 scenarios. His prior knowledge initially gets him killed by the Chaos Gods, but continued simulations provide combat training, biological augmentations, weapons, vehicles, and technology. The simulator's resource system later accepts firearms, enabling him to shorten simulation cooldowns through seized weapon caches 1 4 11.
