Background
Yu Ming originated as a fully realized evil-thought manifestation separated from Azathoth after the prehistoric war. Azathoth removed nearly half of his own evil consciousness to curb his impulse to slaughter humanity, creating an evil thought powerful enough to overwhelm and destroy its previous human hosts. 1309
Unlike those hosts, the human Yu Ming completely accepted the invading consciousness. His soul and the evil thought integrated over his lifetime, fundamentally changing his body; after reaching the end of a normal lifespan, he became a Jailer and received a Soul Stone fashioned from Abhoth. 1309
His integrated human soul and Main Soul later shared control approximately equally. This unstable balance affected his thoughts and actions, while the Main Soul's influence physically surfaced through grotesque transformations and a second life form manifesting from his left arm. 1117 1121
Appearance
Yu Ming's appearance changes extensively with his power, though plant imagery and a floral mark remain recurring features.
- Usually wears a fitted black suit with a grass-green tie and matching leather shoes. 1093 1100
- Bears a flower-like mark on his cheek that can glow with consciousness. 866 922
- Can grow vines, roots, leaf-covered limbs, and shadow-wrapped plant tendrils from his body. 1093 1116
- His reborn body developed gray skin, curling hair, and tentacle-like movement beneath the skin. 1507
- After his supreme evolution, his body appears outwardly human and unadorned, though it exerts overwhelming pressure and contains fully merged powers. 1748
- In his primordial-chaos state, his body becomes gray liquid with a green leaf mark on his brow. 1761
Personality
Yu Ming is calculating, theatrical, and intensely committed to control. He prepared a vine passage spanning Nyarlathotep's inner world, manipulated multiple factions at once, and openly admitted that interactions with powerful opponents excite him because he prefers “everything under [his] control.” 1082
He presents different faces depending on his aims: a courteous ally to Zhang Chen, a charismatic ruler to the Five Evils, and an unsettlingly calm executioner toward enemies. He can recognize strength and offer capable opponents a place at his side, but he eliminates perceived threats without hesitation. 1256 1390 1724
His ambition repeatedly outweighs restraint. Yu Ming sought the Emperor's inheritance, Azathoth's arm, the Chaos Primordial Core, death-spirit essence, and eventually the resources of the Higher Plane in pursuit of an ultimate evolved form. 1256 1501 1746 1761
Abilities & Skills
Plant Manipulation and Wood Realm Regeneration
Yu Ming's fundamental power is plant-based. He can control vegetation over vast areas, construct bodies from plant matter, drain vitality, and use plants as extensions of his senses and movement.
- Created a ten-thousand-meter arena-wide forest with Wood Realm Regeneration. 922
- Built a vine tunnel nearly a thousand meters underground, connecting Nyarlathotep's palace, island routes, and other important locations. 1082
- Regrows limbs and repairs damage by producing new vines and expelling harmful energy. 1102
- Can create replacement bodies through vegetation, including reforming from the plants in an office. 1120
- Converted Sand China into a lush forest with his own life force to expel Azathoth's arm. 1501
- In Plant Body form, spread vegetation over the Higher Plane and converted living beings into nutrients. 1759 1761
Chaos Power and Regeneration
Yu Ming channels chaos aura to dissolve damage, regenerate, alter his body, and evade destruction.
- Turned into chaos aura to escape Zhang Chen after being bisected. 1119
- His chaos-filled body could refill wounds as though a blade had cut through water. 1116
- Reconstructed arms and regenerated from severe bodily destruction during battle. 1122
- Used Myriad Life Chaos: Revised, a forbidden technique, to sharply raise his combat power against Gu Chen. 1727
- Used Azathoth's Primordial Gate to discard his physical form and occupy Azathoth's primordial chaos body. 1761
Clones and Substitute Bodies
Yu Ming can operate through highly realistic replacement bodies, making it difficult to determine whether an encountered Yu Ming is genuine.
- Escaped Zhang Chen through chaos clones after his core was badly injured. 1119
- Used a plant-based body carrying the Gear Saber to negotiate with Zhang Chen. 1123
- Maintained a True Soul Clone cultivated for a thousand years while his true body remained in the Evil God Palace. 1284
- His clones are connected to his main body and can be treated as extensions of his soul and body. 1284
Emperor Scripture and Imperial Techniques
As the Emperor's successor, Yu Ming employs the Prehistoric Dynasty's imperial arts.
- Used the Emperor Finger to strike Bai Xing. 1425
- Created layered hexagonal barriers through the Chapter of Control, including the Nine Illusory Peaks and Nine Layers of Jade Barriers. 1439 1654
- Manifested a dragon robe through the Emperor Scripture, transforming his aura and stabilizing his power. 1360
- Combined imperial power with chaos in the Chaos Emperor Finger, enough to counter Guo Chen's attack. 1654
Realm and King's Persona Control
Yu Ming is a recognized Apostle and ruler of the Five Evil Realm.
- Established the Five Evil Realm over the abandoned Corpse Realm using the Yin Gathering Pool as its core. 1245
- Controlled the Five Evil Realm's terrain, lost soldier souls, and Yin energy after inheriting the Prehistoric Dynasty. 1368 1711
- Acquired the Void Death Spirit King's Persona and used it to form an isolation barrier that outside forces could not detect or easily breach. 1654 1746
- Used the energy of four King's Personas to perfect the Five Evil Realm. 1711
Absorption and Life-Force Extraction
Yu Ming can absorb life force, resentment, blood, and death-spirit essence to strengthen himself or fuel larger schemes.
- Fed on Xia Ze during the school competition. 871
- Drained an evil spirit's resentment and life force while observing the Huaxia Country team. 964
- Extracted energy from defeated opponents to accelerate Mortal World Assimilation. 1108
- Absorbed Azathoth's arm as the foundation of his rebirth. 1501
- Attempted to absorb the Void's death-spirit aggregate to fuse with his Chaos Primordial Core. 1746
- Claimed to have absorbed billions of death spirits and later incorporated the physical and soul substrates of Higher Plane beings. 1760 1761

Story Role / Major Arcs
Huaxia Country Jailer and Betrayal
Yu Ming first appears among the Huaxia Country Jailers during a competition, where he secretly feeds on Xia Ze and displays neither fear nor remorse toward ghostly creatures. His conduct creates immediate suspicion in Basang. 871
He later becomes the subject of a worldwide arrest warrant after an avatar of Azathoth vanishes from a top-secret Underworld storage room. The incident is linked to Ghost Grass Fei's access to the facility, though later evidence indicates Yu Ming's apparent betrayal was also shaped by Green Ghost and Sky Dog's schemes. 946 966
Nyarlathotep and Faceless Conflict
Yu Ming betrays Nyarlathotep, constructs an underground vine network beneath his territory, and leads Xie Min toward Faceless while seeking greater independence and control. 1082
He impersonates Ghost Grass Fei, captures Chong Ying, and reveals himself as a far more dangerous adversary than the Jailer Zhang Chen knew. 1088
Battle for Tianfu City
Yu Ming fights Zhang Chen across Tianfu City using chaos regeneration, clones, Abhoth's Skull, and the Swallow Heaven Seed. Zhang Chen severs Yu Ming's connection to Abhoth's Skull, while Yu Ming infects Zhang Chen with the seed and later bargains for information through a clone. 1122 1123
After the confrontation, Yu Ming is imprisoned on the eighteenth floor of the Underworld, though he remains defiant and interested in the people he will meet there. 1129
Founding the Five Evil Realm
Yu Ming negotiates directly with the Zero Realm consciousness, invokes Forced Occupation, and establishes his True Realm on the abandoned Corpse Realm's territory. 1245
He then recruits and negotiates with powerful figures, positioning himself as the Five Evil Realm's king while treating Zhang Chen as a necessary equal rather than a subordinate. 1256 1352
Inheriting the Prehistoric Dynasty
With Zhang Chen's guidance, Yu Ming enters the palace beneath Spirit Mountain Pool and reveals that he is an Azathoth avatar residing in a human rather than Azathoth's true form. 1309
The Emperor accepts Yu Ming as successor. Yu Ming inherits the Prehistoric Dynasty's legacy, Imperial Palace, Emperor Scripture, and army of lost soldier souls. 1368
Rebirth and War Against Azathoth
Yu Ming expels Azathoth's arm from Sand China, sacrifices his existing body, and rebuilds himself around the arm, the Chaos Eukaryote, Abhoth's Skull, and the Evil God's Scythe. 1501
During the wider war, he releases an unstable sealed entity into the Zero Realm specifically to disrupt Azathoth's plans. 1610
Ultimate Evolution
Yu Ming turns on his own main consciousness to claim the Chaos Primordial Core and Black God Guo Chen's dark core. Jia Xin disrupts this plan by stealing the resulting fruit. 1717
Yu Ming subsequently fuses with the Ancient Yin Locust Tree, absorbs the Void's death-spirit essence, and completes a supreme evolution that allows him to overpower Long Yi, Guo Chen, Bodhi Patriarch, and Zhang Chen. 1724 1748 1753
Higher Plane Invasion and Exile
After escaping Void Death City, Yu Ming is classified as an SSS-rank or greater threat by the Higher Plane. He spreads his Plant Body across the plane, absorbs its inhabitants, and challenges Zhang Chen in his strongest state. 1759 1760 1761
Following the war's end, Zhang Chen revokes Yu Ming's right to remain in the Zero Realm and banishes him from the plane. 1764
